@Dragonstalon1001 Same here, this young lady reminds me of a person I attended the USAF'S fire academy with back in the early 1980s. He was a black kid who wore his racial resentment like a badge of honor. He singled me out because of my Southern accent and on several occasions tried to provoke a confrontation with me. I refused to play his game. It wasn't a problem for long, he flunked out of the first block. I went on to complete the school with a 93% average and later got the same score on my CDC test.
I wouldn't have wanted this kid on my crew. First of all, he was incompetent as demonstrated with his failure of the first block. Secondly, I would not have trusted him to have my back in a risky situation, which was a distinct possibility to face as a firefighter.

I was thinking the same thing. Every race in the military (at least with my experience in the Army) was promoted based on your PT score and basic Army knowledge and when it was your time on the waiting list for promotion. It didn't matter what your race, gender, or religious preference you were. These ideologies have come the college she attends, without a doubt.

I grew up in a house with an outdoor toilet. We had to use food banks and charity from neighbours before food banks were common. I had free school meals. I got rejected for university positions when my black friends, with less grades, got into the same university and the same course.

Women really need to let the whole pay gap lie go. Everyone knows it's a lie. Everyone knows why there's a discrepancy. If women want to get paid the same dollar men get they have to do the same work men do. And that means staying longer at the office and doing harder jobs. We don't want to do that. I'm perfectly happy making 77 cents to a man's dollar because I work less than he does.

Sounds very similar to my situation in my early 20’s, I’m sorry things have been hard for you. I lived in my car for 6 months in the dead of winter and had maybe 3 outfits to my name, would often go without eating unless someone offered to buy me McDonald’s, and I made 7.25/ hour. I still have tens of thousands of dollars in medical debt starting from when I was 18 because my mom kicked me out and took me off the family health insurance (she was bipolar and not on meds at the time). I’m partially disabled and can only work part time, so I still don’t make over $12,000 a year but I have a wonderful family now and the love of a wonderful man who is helping me get my health back on track. May not be “whitely privileged”, but things don’t stay bad forever! Hang in there and God bless.

As a USN Vet of only 5 years in and based off of the Rate/Job I had and my wife’s civilian job with the Navy? We were making 6 digits after taxes were removed but plus was enlisted, not commissioned.
Let’s not mention the free medical, free dental, our retirement plan, our free college and etc which I could just create a massive list.
Now sure, if you see combat you’d want to be paid more and you do get paid hazard pay which I agree should be increased but for the average service member? We get paid damn good.

They were fast tracked through the promotion process. They worked less hours, less strenuous positions, and were never disciplined for insubordination. Mil life was a breeze for them. So yes, she was treated differently.

My white Scottish Ancestor was captured and sold as a slave on American Plantations. When I married in 1974, we lived in a one bedroom flat, with.. NO RUNNING HOT WATER, and NO bath or shower. We were "posh", because we had an inside toilet (having to wash hands in cold water, or go to kitchen (a cupboard) that had a geyser to get hot water. We walked everywhere because we couldn't afford a bus, never mind a car. We couldn't afford a colour TV, so had a 12" Black and white TV. There were no computers, mobile phones or TV packages (4 Terrestrial Channels). We had no holidays, and didn't go out to clubs, or spend money frivolously. Hubby went back into Tertiary Education (from Industry) and through hard work got 1st Class Honours Electrical and Electronic Engineering).
We now (through OUR hard work, and years of doing without) own a 6 bedroom Victorian house, a detached 4 bedroom bungalow, and a three bedroom detached bungalow. We live in the small bungalow, let our daughter and family live in the big house and rent out the other house £400/month below value to someone who wouldn't be able to afford it.
We EARNED everything we own, with hard work and doing without. We both came from poor housing Estates. Oh, and husband (who worked hard and was a Senior Lecturer) had bosses who were Egyptian, Turkish and Asian, in.... United Kingdom. And, although he had a 1st Class Honours AND practical Industrial experience, he was not jealous of those Academically qualified from other countries, who ended up as his bosses. Don't talk to me about "White Privilige".
I'm a middle-aged white man. I'm a cancer-survivor, autistic, and on disability. I can't work due to all the after effects from the chemotherapy. I get $945 from Uncle Sam once a month. That doesn't cover much in today's economy. I had to fight for two years just to get that. I wanna know where my privilege is at.

I can bet you anything she is not a "veteran." My cousin actually served as an Army Specialist and said "veterans" that act the way she does never saw a fight in their life, stayed in a cozy room all the time, and either ended up leaving or were forced to discharge. They never fought for anything and were always hated by their comrades. Then they go home and act like some war-torn hero.

Who didn't get the right to vote until the 60's? I hope she means the 1860's. It was passed by congress in 1869 and ratified in 1870. She's about a hundred years off. The Constitution wasn't approved by the first state until 1787. We had less than a hundred years without black representation, many of which were surrounded in turmoil. The conditions in the late 1700's were comparable to the Great Depression. And by 1820 50% of the wealth was controlled by the top 10% of the population, and by 1860 that rose to 60%. It currently sits just above 65%. Where's this opportunity? This woman needs a major history lesson.

I wasn’t particularly smart and only had 2 yrs of college. But I worked civilian job from 20 - to age 60. I was in the military reserve from age 20 to 60. I wasn’t an entrepreneur but worked 2 jobs my whole life and now I am retired (married to husband who did nearly the same thing). Working hard on America made us better off than our parents.

Her attitude suggest to me that she is lying about being a veteran. I have never met anyone who went into a military career or service period who would maintain such a horrible and ignorant, and arrogant attitude. The Military needs people to be able to stay calm, being able to communicate well, show respect to other people, and so much more and many more things, her attitude would have been beaten to a pile of crap and thrown away if she had actually received training and did a service period. I kinda wished one of them would have asked her a question about the military, like did the military provide you with an ACR rifle with 7.56 caliber bullets or did they force you to settle for the old M240 with only 5,56 caliber bullets, because of your skin color?
She's a desk job vet that never got higher than an E2 due to insubordination, a handful of article 15s and probably a general discharge! Besides, don't go into the military if you want pay worth talking about unless you get 4 years worth of college first to get that commission! Officer commission that is!

You are so brave taking on these issues!!! I am a white woman who grew up in a poor family, I did 20 years in the military and retired. I am blessed to have a retirement. Husband divorced me, and I eventually got my masters in business administration and now I am the manager at an American owned gas station/convenience store in a very small town, which helps supplement my retirement. My kids are grown and I have one in college and one who graduated with her masters and is working in higher education. I was not privileged, my kids were not privileged, I had and still have struggles, but who should I blame it on? NO ONE!!! I have grit, I work hard, I am very proud of where I am because I worked for it!!! I WISH ALL YOUNG PEOPLE THOUGHT LIKE YOU DO. You have a great future, and I enjoy your videos and everything you do.

I worked for 12 years as a DOD Civilian in Hawaii and unfortunately, THIS, is commonplace behavior and belief amongst lower ranking non-caucasions of many races.
She wants everything handed to her. She also doesn't want to work
So she immediately shifts to the people in the military get shit pay. She doesnt understand that what she had was an 'entry' level position. If you pay your dues and stay in for life you end up with a pretty damn good life. I spent my entire working life supervising the building of homes in No Va. most in the $500K+ range and many buyers were career military and black. Also should be noted that most retire after 'life' at a relatively young age with full pension and another job in govt or the defense industry.
She touts her service record, her college education, and the fact she's a black woman but insists she's held back. I'm sorry what exactly is your argument dear? I'm a white woman, do not have a college education and have worked my arse off all my life yet I'm lower middle class. So please explain to me where all my privilege failed me because I'm at a loss. My school mates were black, hispanic and white. My work colleagues were black, hispanic, white, Indian, Polish, Irish etc etc. My neighbors are the same. Where is my white privilege, I demand my white privilege you continue to proclaim I have because honestly working my butt off for a living sucks. Please explain dear, I'm begging you.

I agree that not all indoctrination is at school. Some for sure but a lot is also in the home, news, friend groups… crazy stuff and it has to stop.
