Awesome van conversion man probably could use another window just above the kitchen top and another fan on the ceiling for extra vent but brilliant use of space
Hi. Cool video. I would like to ask if haven't had any trouble at technical control with that made windows.(?) I think it would be nicer to have another window beside the cooking area.
Absolutely loved the kitchen set up especially the lower drawers... I'm a big-time Southern cook and Sous chef and I have a 14 piece cookware set and I do not plan on getting rid of it or leaving it behind.. and it looks like it would all fit in that one drawer... and I plan on getting the large refrigerator / freezer combo 12 volt and I really haven't seen anybody with a setup like this before or the bigger one fits and there's enough room on the back for the magnetic knife hanger and my spices and everything
You did a great job setting that up for living with. Converted with purpose. Nice! Tiny home living at its finest for a single person. Did you have to how much weight would be added while designing your rig...like for engine limitations? Oh..and the awesomes are awesome!
I wonder how well the solar panels work in the the winter in B'ham. It's consistently cloudy for weeks on end with a decent amount of tree canopy cover in most places. I'm currently scheming to also live in a van in Bellingham hopefully before the end of 2019. Hopefully I can find some legitimate places to park it, like renting a driveway for a bit while I transition jobs and need the internet.
Personally in our own van (not the one in the video) we have a 200amphr deep cycle marine , 300 watts of solar and our home battery hooked up to our car battery via alternator. We are based out of Orange County and it does really well in the weather down there but in Bellingham and the PNW our battery suffers big time. If we lived there we would prefer to have double the battery and a shoreline plug so we could charge it while it’s parked if necessary to bring the charge up.
Also I should mention that we only go up the west coast into the PNW and Canada during the summertime. Basically you’ll need a lot of battery to survive haha
I would change that bed to half the width, and build a wall where there was a tiny shower/toilet build into the van, with the toilet vaste going to a tank in the bicycle room, and the shower drain going through a hole, draining outside.. then u have a sealed bathroom and u can take a shit or shower anywhere..
Nice job on the van, wish more manufactures would add a bike garage. BTW, our body "poo' sensors shut down during sleep. Unfortunately, our bladders don't....
Thanks man! and woah!! I didnt know that but makes sense! Thanks for that info dude! It sure would be nice to have the pee sensor shut down though haha
I'm always searching for van ideas for my future purchase and or make.sweet vid thx man! Love the hoodie!! I use my #tacoma at the moment and own a house but always have the van life dream
Everyone time someone asks us about vanlife, I'll how them the beginning 15 seconds of this video and say "we ain;t poor and we poo in a toilet just like you" :D
Grocery bags double bagged in the toilet. When I was homeless I pooped in a five gallon painters bucket with grocery bags stretched on em... Gotta make due, ya know 🙋👍
I hope you guys enjoyed the van tour! Don’t forget, World Wide Cyclery has you covered and you can get 10% off your entire order by using coupon code "moawesome10" ! bit.ly/2CfmFmB
haha yea the prius only has 4.4kwh of batteries, and that is to power a whole car drivetrain. 12v 550ah gives u over 6kwh of energy which seems unnecessary just to power some lights and a fridge.
Joshua Huang With NiMH pretty much all of that is usable but with sealed lead acid you can only use about half of it before damaging the battery. So it’s 225ah usable - something that isn’t unreasonable if it’s cloudy.
I would have made a magnetic holder on the doors or beneath the garage for those tools, they don't look all that big to need an entire wall. The obstruction of views and or emergency exist with that back "wall" doesn't seem practical
It's nice to have the back end closed off. Sometimes you might have 2 people living in the van and if someone wants to ride and the other wants to keep sleeping the garage is accessible without opening the entire van!
Have you had both? Was the Ford also short? I'm still struggling with what size to go with. Room is nice but so is parking and handling for the better half to drive.
@@ragingbullwinkle4188 I've had smaller vans in the past, and I just wanted to biggest size to have the most room to live in full time. The big wheelbase drives like a normal car, and its only a little bit of a pain in the butt in really small parking lots, but you learn to adapt by just parking a little farther away which is no big deal at all!
If the clanking starts to annoy you, you can buy silicone sleeves that go over jars from Amazon. I have also seen RVers put their glassware in the cloth "crates" that are meant to organize drawers of socks and ties.
No issues with assembly for me ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
By far one of the very best live in van conversions that I've ever seen, fantastic!
Yewww!!!!
Excellent practical layout and wonderful build!
This guys energy and attitude are invigorating... gives one hope for today’s millennials. Great job!
yewwww!!!! Thanks for the support!
Heck yeah Mo and Hannah! Thanks for checking out my house!
I'm stoked for many more adventures to come!
That’s a slick set up.
Yeah man its dialed!!!
Super Rad & Humble dude! Everything fits & has it’s purpose without any fuss. Gotta put this up there as an all time great 👍
Yewwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!
He did a great job with the use of space - I like how the toilet is hidden!
dialed for sure!
Awesome van conversion man probably could use another window just above the kitchen top and another fan on the ceiling for extra vent but brilliant use of space
Best convertion i have seen so far
Yeah its a nice one for sure!!! yewww!!
Check the singtrack sampler’s van
The best van build I've seen so far, and I've seen a few, well done dude
Woah thanks man!!!
Yeah its an awesome one for sure!
U cn checkout the singletrack sampler’s van.
Feeling bad? Why the heck would you feels bad for someone living the dream???
People are weird man! hahahahah
Not everyone will understand in this life.
For sure!! I feel jealous not bad. 😉
Hell yea! Can't wait until my kids are grown and out so I can live the dream too
This guy is my hero. All that's missing is a trail dog 🐶
How tall is he?
Suggestion for change:
Rainwater harvesting for gray water. When it rains a lot you get more mud.
Elastic nets for storage on the walls and sealing.
He is about 5'9 I think? And those are awesome suggestions!
@@moandhannahtravel thanks 😀
Cool! Walked by this van and the shop tonight, and boom, shows up in my feed you tube.
UA-cam probably has drones following everybody haha
Drones for sure!
Loving that bench! I'd probably spend most of my time there too
Such a comfortable seat! I would to! hahaha
You’re hired as a builder/designer when I get myself a truck like that, lol
Awesome build Mike. See you on the trails.
Yewwww!!!!
Awesome van! Exactly what I'm looking for.
You are one lucky and smart young man. Keep it going.
that was a fun interview to watch.
Glad you liked it!!
I don't wonder where people poop, I wonder, where do they shower???
Mountain biking is messy business and a shower is mandatory.
😂😂😂 too true! Most of us have gum memberships where we shower! And also you can get solar showers for the van!
Get a shovel and you can do a bush poo, much nicer than using a public toilet
jack marks pooping in the woods is an unbelievably freeing experience, at least it was for me. Not being tied to a toilet is mind opening
@@jeffpower6473 Sitting on the toilet withholds certain muscles withholding a premium shit
jack marks 😆👍
I love this guy
He is awesome!
Hey Mike I just installed the Grip2 damper I got from you the other day. My bike feels awesome!
Heck yeah! These things are sweet! I'm actually uploading a video today on GRIP2 setup, keep an eye out for it!
Hi. Cool video. I would like to ask if haven't had any trouble at technical control with that made windows.(?) I think it would be nicer to have another window beside the cooking area.
Windows are actually pretty easy and affordable to do yourself! But as with everything, measure a milion times before you cut!
