Good afternoon good evening good morning wherever you are in the world I hope you're having a great day, super simple today as usual just a whole heap of connection cables and 2 nice big Copper bars to add to the stack and over 5 kg closer to the goal. So sit back and take it easy and I hope you enjoy the video, and as I always say have a great weekend👋🏻😁
My dad worked as an electrician on trains for years and would always bring the cables home. They would pay for our dinner growing up. he would always sit in his chair and strip the cables by hand with his pocket knife
This will be my first ever comment on UA-cam. Watching someone so dedicated to their craft is an inspiration. I’ve learned a lot about metallurgy watching your videos and it’s made me a better engineer learning about different alloys and how to better recycle for future projects. Your truly an inspiration and I can’t wait until you hit your goal! Thank you from America! Keep doing you!
I'm amazed at how effortlessly you combine smelting precious metals, recycling, dogs, weather, and fine dining all in one brief video! Master Craftsman ... Cheers!
Always a great way to start the morning! Thank you BigstackD for what you do. I vote for super shiny sides but leave the top and bottom of the bar raw. Copper doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful. We could all learn something from copper. Have a great week, see you again next Friday mate!
I just noticed your right hand bracelet, thats amazing! Another reason for me to click your videos as soon as I see them, excellent work! I love the look of copper so any Copper in the video is a wonderful day for me
The way this dude uploads around midnight is perfect for when I really can't sleep. And honestly you're an inspiration my guy I keep looking at all the metal in my job imagining it slowly glowing red and melting into little pure bars.
As a kid, there were certain shows I would run home from school so I wouldn't miss them. This channel is the adult equivalent for me. This is such a relaxing, educational and creative channel. I love it.
Bigstackd’s got us trained like his dogs: see that copper and start salivating. 🤤🤤🤤 Great trash to treasure to start the day off right! Always love seeing those “future melts” you’re saving pieces for. Very nearly 80 percent there! Should’ve tossed a few coins in to hit the mark. But we’ll be patient. 😂
Hello! I am a Korean subscriber!(I am using a translator because my English is not good enough. Thank you for your understanding.) Holy Moly!...... These are videos that I'm getting more and more fascinated by. And I envy you for your skill in casting! I hope you continue to show us good videos while working safely. Have a nice day!
The colour change is not an effect of the heat or cooling down: a block of hot massive copper oxydizes at air, which results in a thin layer of black copper oxyde (CuO) on the surface. By cooling it down quickly, the copper metal inside shrinks more and faster than the layer of Copperoxyde, which flakes off.
Hey there bigstackD!!! A real huge fan of yours all the way from Alberta, Canada!! Keep up those videos, and I'll keep religiously watching, thank you for your amazing content!! 😊👍💯❤
Another Van Isle how's it hanging.....The BigD is how I got my first furnace, and how I'll get my next. The reason I became confident enough to finally achieve the Knights Templar coins I've always wanted. Poured and cleaned 12 coins yesterday. I hope he makes a new goal. Mine is open ended I want to continually amass my own personal wealth.
Hey! I've been watching your videos every week for the past few years and I dare say this might have been you're best cast yet, the way the ingots look is simply perfect! Keep up the good work! Cheers mate!
Starting my weekend with the latest BigstackD video is about as cool as it gets. Without wishing to sound grovelling, yours are the only videos I actually look forward to seeing each week. Sure, I watch other stuff, but mostly because it's there rather than going out of my way to find it. So, my friend, keep doing what you're doing. I and many, many others love it!
Great video as always. In my humble opinion, yeah, the original "dirty" color of the ingots was sooooo cool, I would have totally left them "dirty" and just polish the front as you did.
Some folks play a torch on top of the ingot as it cools to let it cool more slowly, avoiding the wrinkles. The colour is an oxide. If the flame is rich in fuel it might lessen the oxide.
Yesterday I watching again 2yrs old video of copper melting of ur's sir and today I was like yeah man another new copper melting video what a coincidence ❤️
I really enjoy your videos, its amazing how much I look forward to them each week. Those tombstone bars are cool. Is something to watch copper turn into a solid. Have a great week sir!
Love the hiding places where you put your food just a bit concerned about the sausages. I hope you didn't get food poisoning. I also love the sounds of crows
Some how your vids a soothing. I really enjoy them. A saw a video early on how a guy tried to pure copper into a mold for a radiator for a bright led. And he had the same problem with copper when he poured it into to mold and wasn't "clean". He heated borax before adding the scrap metal and it helped. Hope you see this comment. Cheers from Poland
One thing is for sure. If the unthinkable happens and you are in need of cash, you have a sizable ammount of savings in pure metal on your stack. Keep it up, this is quite fun!
What a great melt, I would have left at least some part the original color and just cleaned up the rest. I love me a good copper melt so this was perfect. Nothing starts off a Friday morning better than a good cup of coffee and a BigStackD copper melt! Take care all!
That second pour turned out to be a beautiful bar when it came out of the mold. Truly enjoy the melted metal being poured into the moulds. It’s beautiful the colors and satisfying how you have been doing this so long now you know exactly how much scraps of treasure melted down will fit perfectly in certain molds, that’s an art too. Also love the technique you’ve built up through trial and error you’ve mastered turning a rough bar into an incredible imperfections free, shiny and smooth piece of metal you can see your reflection in it, that’s visible hard work accomplished. Love when you are cleaning up the bars and coins. Is there a specific person or small business you use for the moulds that are custom? Also curious for the frenchie ice molds as well, would love to give more business to them. I personally would love to get into melting metal as a hobby/passion, I haven’t worked in a decade due to certain disability but for everything you do they won’t hind me at all, especially with using tools. If I had to grind or sand by hand I could never. I see how you go to the scrap yards and have some people keep an eye out for items for you, but for me I am absolutely clueless where I could find that around my area. I’d happily drive an hour plus to find pieces as I have the time and ability to, I know I’m fortunate especially still being relatively young at 38 on the 19th of April. But I also need to find a productive physical hobby to get me out of the house even if it’s the babe cave. I used to all during 18 to 32 riding motorcycles until back surgery from dancing hula for decades took me away. It’s far time to go all in on a new hobby.passion I can do by myself or others and I’ve looked for several years now and this feels like it could be great for me. Also the facts I know it takes time to wait for things to heat up or melt so I won’t be rushing as you appear in the video to take a day or two of footage down to 10-20 minutes, not to mention I won’t be videoing any of it. Maybe a photo here and there but I’m clueless when it comes to editing videos, just missed me when I went to college. I had to chuckle a lot when you showed the bird. I’ve always wondered what made that sound especially when you speed up segments you still hear it. Here in the US we have similar looking birds but they sound completely different. Those sausages looked amazing. Did you give the pups, Ingot and Bullion any? Side note how did you get them to eat vegetables? (Are there certain ones you feed them? I’d love to give more variety to mine. The best feeling in the world to me who is a for baby pet owner was when I became a grown adult at 20 living on my own well couple stop signs away from my parents but articles started coming out and information and even my vets encouragement to not feed canned dog food or even majority of the dry dog food because of all the chemicals and process junk that’s in there. But I would love to know what other fruits and vegetables you give your pups because I’m sure there are a few that I’ve never even tried like I’ve seen the plate that has the fruit and vegetables and I’ve tried watermelon and they don’t like it as long as it doesn’t look like watermelon what is the green one zucchini or cucumber?) Not one to comment so sincere a;ologies for the very lengthy one. Not sure if you will see this at all but hopefully. I could email this if that is easier. ‘Thanks so much and keep up the amazing work it’s enjoyed by many and appreciated.
I tried to read all comments but when I get over 500 a day across the channel it’s physically impossible and I certainly don’t have the time. But this one just popped up before on my phone as I sat down to crack a beer so I thought I’d have a read through. When it comes to custom coin moulds I have a link to my mate Adam in my descriptions he is located in Las Vegas and will do custom coin moulds for a small fee otherwise he just sells regular coin moulds with Marvel and Star Wars pirates etc. The silicon bulldog moulds I get from eBay I just type in silicon French bulldogs and the moulds should come up they are for candles or ice. I didn’t feed any of those sausages to the little dogs as they have very touchy digestive systems even though they would eat 50 of them if they were allowed. They get their fair share of the meat in the way of wild boar kangaroo steak lamb duck etc and they get two meals a day of that as well as the healthy treats in between. I got them to start eating veggies when they were tiny little puppies as they love to eat and it was a healthy option. Yes it is cucumber that they eat and love and I also give them carrots corn peas beans broccoli and cauliflower. I don’t give them a whole heap I try to keep the diet balanced but they are very well looked after when it comes to their food as all they do is eat and sleep. Anyway hopefully this message finds you well and makes sense as I’m using hands-free voice texting so some words might of been changed but I’m sure you’ll work it out. Take care and have a great weekend. Any any time anyone sends me an email I answer every email 100% but obviously I can’t answer all my comments😁👋🏻
I use just straight propane in mine. I have hard lined the exhaust side of a shop vac up to my burners which allows me to have forced air that I can adjust through gate valves and control the heat better because I also use my furnace for blacksmithing and sometimes nee much higher heat for forge welding. His furnace uses a venturi system, which is much easier to use, but I could never get the temperatures I needed out of a venturi system. It's also why I set my furnace up with two burners instead of one because I need it to get much hotter so I can use it to heat steel, and I'm impatient and want my metal very hot, right now.. The downside is that I now and then have to replace the flared ends on the burners because they tend to melt down during long sessions. I just use 1 1/2" x 3/4" bell reducers for black iron pipe, though, so they're easy enough to replace. As for where to get it, lots of places have the 20 pound cylinder exchange for about $20. You just give them your empty and 20 bucks, and they give you a full one, but you have to have one to exchange first, which runs about $60 for the initial tank. Places I can think of are U-Haul, Homie Depot, Lowes, even the corner gas station and convenience store have those Blue Rhino set-ups. All priced about the same. I take mine directly to the propane distributor that sends trucks around to fill residential tanks. Saves me about $3 -$5 per tank. Sometimes, if their deliveries take a bit longer, I have to wait until one of the guys gets back to the yard to fill my tanks, but they are usually pretty consistent on their runs, so I don't often have to wait. Hoe this helps. Sorry it was so long winded.
Nice work! It's extremely relaxing watching the whole process from start to finish, turning scrap metal into something amazing. I like how you list how much each melt is worth in all the different currencies too. I'm watching from the UK, they pay an arm and a leg for these creations! Already subbed too!
I find it amazing how copper can have such an array of varying colors. From the clay red look after just being poured, to the shiney penny and plate, the dull and tarnished, and the green patina from salt air. I really did like the look on these before they were cleaned up and polished. They had that fiery red clay dirt look and rustic feel to them. I would love to see more of that and maybe some treatments added to the final product to bring out some of the other colorings copper can take on.
Always do enjoy the completely unorthodox ways you find, cook, and otherwise store food around your shop like that hah. Got to appreciate those cables though. Put in a lot of work on a locomotive somewhere. Glad it could be recycled and repurposed in the melt. 👍
Awesome vids! Glad you cleaned up the copper before shelving it. They look a lot cleaner. Thought it was hilarious digging your lunch out from secret nooks in your workshop! Love your dogs! We lost our Lab/Boxer mix last December and would love to have another dog but my wife and I are still brokenhearted after losing her. They're so much like children and part of the family! Keerp the great vids coming and STAY SAFE!
Lived in Ireland for a few months, and i loved driving on the left! Of course, my first night doing it was in Dublin, in the rain, and it was kind of maddening. I kind of miss it! Roundabouts, standard transmissions, and my wife, who has neck issues, could see more sitting on the left hand side of the car! Hope to make it to your fine country/continent someday! And thanks for the content!!
Awesome melt! Personally I like the mirror finish, but a spot on a shelf with different stages of copper, from dirty to polished seems like it would be so cool. Thanks!
I simply love how awesome your videos are, how well organized everything in your whole life is.. I love how you find the food anywhere you need it. Thank you for awesome content 🤙keep it up my friend
Copper is by far my favourite metal. My Kennedy vindicater mech tube mod for vaping is pure copper and it hits hard because copper is so conductive and I also love the scent it leaves on your hands.

Always do enjoy the completely unorthodox ways you find, cook, and otherwise store food around your shop like that hah. Got to appreciate those cables though. Put in a lot of work on a locomotive somewhere. Glad it could be recycled and repurposed in the melt. 👍
Excellent melt. Was that tin, nickel, or aluminum mixed in with the copper?
Honestly I reckon it was Probably all three🤔
@@bigstackD thanks!
el estaño se evapora pues era poco y funde mucho antes que el cobre y el aluminio flotaría y se oxida, la plata se va al fondo del crisol. . .
Those are 2 awesome copper bar's thanks for sharing bigstackd
How strong are these crucibles? I've always assumed they'd be kinda fragile?
Also, how long do they last?
Beautiful with the red, but the shine never fails to awe me! Well done!!!
Your studio is really organized. I like it.
Floor sausages are the BEST! And you had some tool box links as well!! What a day! BigSNACK D strikes again!
I love the videos and the dogs. Bullion and Ingot are very cool. I wish I had one that was as cool and chill as they seem to be. 😀
Your vids always make me smile! Look forward to my Friday viewing every week. Thanks!
I can see why you would want to keep the deeper color when it appears, keep it that way by all means, love it
Great post D. I agree with you. I also like the deep copper color. 😇⭐💪🤩💛
FLOOR SAUSAGE!!! 😂 You never disappoint BSD! 😁👍🏻
You are incredibly well organized
One Eyed Willie would be very proud of that stack.
That bubbling copper shot @10:15 was awesome. Hell of a bar you got there man, nice vid.
I always love how you make your video interesting and a short vlog
I am happy someone else apricates classic music
I can't believe your getting close to that goal. Simply amazing.
Beautifully done, copper's become a favorite of mine now 🥰 also, I love the ring you're wearing at the start of the video. Norse ftw!!!
The cut out of the dog coming up for the snags had me in stitches
I have not seen copper in such a deep red like that. I thought that was pretty damn cool. Enjoyed the video!
Hey brother... it's good that you always find your food somewhere in your workshop and never on the roof of your house 😉🤟
i love how you just made your snack in the middle of the video 😄
Your copper pours are always my favorite! I also enjoy all the other videos and the pups too! :)
When that first cable came right out, I felt that in my soul
I gotta say your car is very nicely polished!
The strangest places to find some food. Love the cooking part. Great video editing!! Your content is very interesting.
Nothing like a good chunky copper Bar, nice melt. cheers🍻🍻🐺🐺
Big stack de love the two French bulldogs sweet as heck always like what you do.
What a wonderful workshop 😍
Hello from Norway.
Very COOL Canal sir.
Thank you... And God bless you.. Take care✨
Love Bird´s back ground!! Cheers!
I'm glad for the closure on the bird, I was always a little curious!
Awesome melt! Personally I like the mirror finish, but a spot on a shelf with different stages of copper, from dirty to polished seems like it would be so cool. Thanks!
I love the clean copper look Big.
Always enjoy your classical driving music.
Every time you show the shelf all I can imagine is that thing coming down in the middle of the night and the terrifying noise it would make.
Finally, that noisy Critter shows its face! I'm genuinely happy he got over his stage fright
I simply love how awesome your videos are, how well organized everything in your whole life is.. I love how you find the food anywhere you need it. Thank you for awesome content 🤙keep it up my friend
Watching these videos is therapeutic for me and I also miss my frenchie
I like the look of the ingots after you cleaned them up.
So glad I found this channel!! That’s quite a treasure chest of metals you have there!!
that bird.. appreciate your work, mate. I learned so much. more trash to treasure! waiting 1t. one love
Copper is by far my favourite metal. My Kennedy vindicater mech tube mod for vaping is pure copper and it hits hard because copper is so conductive and I also love the scent it leaves on your hands.
Thanks for showing that bird, I have always wondered what was making the noise!
Good day to you there, it's better to get off the dirty, I love the copper shiny
On ya bloke you & the Frenchies do AUSTRALIA proud kick on .Cheers Kenny
Your awesome broski, i love your sence of humor.
Bloody wicked way to cool the bars!
Loved the part where you pressed the ice on top of the copper ingot looked really cool.
Ooookayyyyy you get bonus points for the lunch menu today!!!!!!!
