  • Commissioned by Crispr Therapeutics for their lobby, “Boston Wind” is a kinetic sculpture that reflects Boston’s wind currents through 185 motorized elements called Brixels, made of mirrored stainless steel and red anodized aluminum. The Brixels move based on real-time wind patterns, symbolizing urban life’s fluid and unpredictable nature. Viewers can engage with the sculpture by raising their hands above their heads, causing the corresponding column of Brixels to rotate. This provides a tactile experience akin to feeling a breeze with your hand. This interaction changes the sculpture’s appearance and allows participants to influence the artwork, embodying the city's narrative and its inhabitants.
