Big thanks to Eben for reading through my essay of a forum post and puting this great showcase together. This has been my most satisfying and successful homebrew jank build to date, so I'm really pleased to see it hit the big screen. Thanks for all the positive comments everyone!
Love the commitment to building the unusual, and with new items BUT my speculation and a lot of other peoples as well was that whatever use a person can theorize for the weapon can be better done with Fulcrum, Duskdawn, or just a basic rare?
Extraordinary build here!
The amount of interaction with every mechanics is stunning.
This is why we play Path of Exile, to be mad scientist who plays video game!
@@brettwilliams124 In many cases that's true, but there's a perfect storm here. Hydrosphere deals base physical damage which I scale through conversion and gain-as-extra layers and has a solid effectiveness of added damage. Winds of Fate has some of the highest physical damage numbers in the game, second only to Marohi Erqi which offers no other benefits. With battlemage and a nicely rolled Winds of Fate, I'm more than doubling Hydrosphere's base damage, in a way that benefits from all of my damage scaling.
I don't benefit from critical strike chance, and damage gained as chaos is ignored by Avatar of Fire, so Duskdawn comes out to 52% less damage than Winds of Fate. A perfectly crafted +5 staff with spell damage and crit multi can eventually surpass Winds, but only at great expense.
great job man, I'm interested in looking into converting this build into shock rather than freeze and scaling that thru elementalists ascendancy. shock scaling is pretty awesome as well as elementalist has good access to AOE scaling.
regardless man, great job thinking of all the interactions here, I never would have thought of the wave of conviction solution, that's for sure.
@@kyleevans1129 Since Expedition's End spiked in price 3 weeks ago, lightning conversion might actually be more approachable on a tighter budget. If you stay as Inquisitor for battlemage with The Winds of Fate, you can use Phys to Lightning support on Wave of Conviction to avoid getting cold from the staff's random conversion. I believe the damage would be lower, and you'd lose the defensiveness of freeze, but it'd be cool to pursue as another alternative.
When all the jank converges into a coherent whole... that's when you know it's a fun build.
Salutations
Miss you dude 🥲
My man, when will you be coming back?
Salutations exile.
When's the next video?
When the God of Jank praises your jank
Eben having a laugh at his own expense is pure gold! 👌🤣
The change in tone of voice too :D
My favourite part of the video, absolute legend
This kind of interactions is what makes poe better than any ARPG in the market
Your comment is the romantic view version, my view of this build is that it's very clunky and almost unplayable.
@@jurusco your missing the point my dude... the fact that we are able to do so many weird cool interactions is why POE is the better ARPG in the market is what he means and i agree. I do agree that it my feel cluncky to play, it wont be my type of build but the interactions are so sick imo
I can't even fathom the amount of brain gymnastics one have to pull off to come up with this Mathil-level goofiness (and effectiveness) of a build. I love it. :D
Not EBEN(see what i did there?) mathil would come up with such a monstrosity. SHOUT OUT TO MATHIL THO CAUSE HE IS THE GOAT
I mean hydrosphere hits pretty hard so I guess you get it to maps and start scaling from there.
mathil level is ripping off existing build guides from forum that had only 8 views. He hasn't created anything subatantial himself. You need to get this idea that content creators are good ppl out of your head. Every game of every community suffers from content stealing
@@GenocideLv touch grass
@@Omaygot_Yugonmakmibus wow no shit ive been playing since 2012. I know perfectly well what im saying is a fact because one of the builds he stole was mine, I made crit proliferate flameblast 3 weeks before him and he flat out stole it from my profile. Fuck that braindead PoS.
That’s a huge amount of weird and awesome interactions lol
This build is one if not the most amazing that i ever watched
"It's so stupid. I wrote this!" - this pretty much sums up my coding experience of the last 10 years. Pretty cool build and nice summary, thanks to both Ijnjeff and Eben!
8:03 xD
When you write a script at 1AM and then look at it the next day thinking "Why on earth did I write this?" lol
Love the interactions between all of the uniques, baffles me how someone can come up with an idea like this. Glad to see the new staff getting some attention too, thought it was only viable with lucky crits.
This is an awesome build. I hope one day builds like these can be affordable for the common player
The power of drip was too strong that it cracked up.
This is awesome. So many zany ideas in one place.
I love the Cyclone tech to keep up Fanaticism charges. I'll probably steal that for a build at some point, especially since you can run it in a 4-link with cast while channeling and two utility spells.
I wouldn't do that. You have to keep channeling for a certain amount of time and it also alternates the skills so you'd have to channel for like .6 seconds to cast the two.
I experimented with this when putting the build together, it was so close to being great. Cast while Channeling will rotate between the skills even if you stop channeling in between, it remembers the sequence so in theory you could automate your curse and another utility skill. Unfortunately, it doesn't fire a skill immediately when you start channeling, so you have to hold it for the 0.3 second before it'll fire. I only found the playstyle to be reasonable when I could tap the channel for a frame or two to avoid disrupting my movement and spell casts. Maybe if you could get your cyclone movespeed high enough to feel like it wasn't an interruption it would feel okay.
Now this is a cool build, so much interactions to make the whole build work.
This is insane and I love it.
I love the series … amazing build hit the show… just inspiring… good job
Love an inquisitor crit build that doesn't use any of the inquisitor crit passives : D
i was with you right up until the rhythmic cyclone tapping and i lost it fsdhsdflhsdl its brilliant, i love it, i cant believe it works-- you turned poe into cadence of hyrule your honor
The concept is brutal 💪
One day we will see a melee build on here
Lol
BoTW has already had several melee builds on it over the years. We just had a Static Strike build earlier in this series. It's even had some iconic builds, like the one that first put Facebreakers on the map (if that old build seems slow to you, note that the whole game was a lot slower all those years ago).
they uploaded a static strike build a couple weeks ago
@@LumpyCrumpets u can do everything with alberons btw, and it's not Pure melee.
Eben is getting better and better with these BotW. keep it up. "bad" jokes are welcome
Dam this dude took "every problem has a solution" and "every solution has a problem" literally.
Show me another game that allows for this much build diversity and creativity. Such a cool build with so many interesting interactions.
Holy fuck that looks like the most annoying build to play. Props to Ifnjeffs for pushing through
Someone have to go through all this hell so we don't have to. =V
PHD build right here.
I really hope this guy is either chemist or physicist because that creativity could mankind use also in those fields.
you guys should bring back 'cost estimations' or 'gear difficulty estimations' like you did in the older videos, because some of these builds are simply prohibitively expensive... like the manabond hirophant from last time, costs upwards of 200divines to get to the level shown in your video, and in the old videos you guys at least warned the viewer about stuff like that but now you dont anymore
Cost estimations are way too volatile in an active economy to be anything but misleading. Especially for build videos showcasing uniques on path of exiles main channel, these items can easily quadruple in value immediately. They do also mention that some of these builds are crazy expensive.
Meme builds are always the most fun to put together
It's builds like this that makes me love the game even more. I wish the most prolific PoE streamers would challenge themselves and come up with at least one non meta build each season, to showcase just what else is possible outside of the powerful meta builds.
Really inspiring stuff! Amazing breakdown and explanation, thanks for sharing!
Insane theorycraft this is why this game exists well played sir.
That was pretty incredible
This is why I play Path of Exile. There is no other game that gives players this level of agency, not even close.
Those super restrict uniques can run pretty cheap too since they're almost never used. Could make for a budget friendly fun time
until u get to the chest piece
@@palleppalsson but you dont need the chest piece right? I think there is also a mod on a sanctified relic that all dmg can freeze
@@Crystxllize only lightning damage. you need the chest to freeze with fire damage
@@palleppalsson Expedition's End was actually quite affordable while I was making the build, until around 3 weeks ago. Seems to have spiked in demand because of some other build.
Played the whole season, fought the scourge so often, not once saw this staff lol
This is why I Love PoE
Super cool interactions
Very cool unique build
Thanks Eben!
a bit of personality at the end. i like it.
Nice outro Eben! glad you kept that in 🤣
What a build.
the end of the video worth the entire work! thanks :D
That is a 5Head build for sure, lots of buttons though! Looks fun!
This is so creative and smart !
How do we convert damage to cold ? With avatar of fire.
My Brain : Umm what ??
POE is so great. For all the crap developers get, the amount of effort they must expend to avoid game breaking interactions between all these mods, and the fact so much effort is required get a build to the edge of such breakage, is a testament to their ingenuity!
those interactions being available is why i love POE the most actually. Its bizar how 10 head this build is , well done sir.
Btw those many interactions should be rewarded with a new JEWEL to make it more endgame viable GGG.
The text of the jewel being: If you use 5 unique interactions youll deal 20% more damage :p oke? devcheck
This reminds me when I played CWC Hydrosphere.
*Вы втёрли нам какую то дичь!
Нам для счастья нужно лишь просто крутиться и не умирать ваншотом через каждую треть карты*
ok i got a bottle of painkillers and sunglasses on the side, i can hit play now
Thanks for explaining the mechanics. good video. i was thinking about using the hydrosphere but now im thinking its not worth the effort building around that skill
you will get carpel tunnel with the amount of buttons you constantly have to press to make this build even function
Art in Motion!
very complicated (Cri + Convert Element + Inquisitor job) but nice to learn. ^^
That ending LUL,, thanks Eben
Lol the ending
Looks fun!
That looks like absolute HELL to play. It's something fun to create but never to enjoy playing.
This is wild, fucking love it!
intense drip action
Awesome!
Very cool! I wouldn't play it but very cool.
Really creative!
You should've shown aer0's too. He's been working on it for ages and has a bunch of great videos on it.
winds of fate went from 1 to 20c all of a sudden))
what can ya do with this build? Simu 30? Maven? 100% deli maps?
Amazing!
nice and interesting mechanics.
I really like this season haha good one
SO COOL
Ah yes, meme builds! Keep it up!
amazing
My brain encountered an error and needs to be restarted....
As some players like to say "the way the game is intended to be played". I'm too old for all those buttons, nonetheless, awesome build!
It's literally impossible to get to these conclusions using just the information provided by the game.
except the gem priority for conversion, the rest you can
Pressing space every second is going to get old reaaaaly fast
If build is powerful and satisfying to play - nerf it to the ground. Fun is not allowed in PoE.
The way I understand it, if you stand too close the first cast of WoC would still hit the sphere, so you have to space yourself constantly. Cool though.
Fortunately Hydrosphere doesn't have a cooldown, so you can always move it farther ahead if this happens. Still clunky tho.
Definitely true, you have to keep the sphere ahead of you, or stand off to the side. With such high cast speed you can do a trick where you cast the wave out in front of you and then immediately cast Hydrosphere to pull it from behind you, through the second wave.
Somebody graduated Poe university jesus, the amount of trial and error and understanding for this build is pretty nuts,
bro it's nothing.
You just fix the problem one by one using elimination method to find the best solution.
Also the build is not even good. It just works, but it's a complete meme.
Neat!
pretty cool ngl
clever as hell
finally my winds of fate will sell
insane
This build perfectly show how PoE is still the king in its genre. Newer titles nowaday cant get to this level of deepness, not even close. Unless GGG completely abandon this game, i doubt there will be any game that can actually compete in years to come.
This is the build that we want to see. Using the so-called useless items and make them useful.
We don't need to have great clear and delete the boss at once. We just want to play the build / use the items we love to finish end-game bosses (even with 1 or 2 deaths).
P.S. Can someone try to make Hyaon's Fury useful. I have tried so hard but I never succeed.
Delirium showcase: 3 rewards lvl4 while struggling to stay alive. Next image shows a (massive?) thread of hope part of the skill tree and massive conversions sheananigans. Gladly it is so janky that I'm sure it's innexpensive but don't copy this build ever, it's full on PoE gone wrong. Ty for the dead end showcase.
diablo could never reach this level of convoluted interaction, which is why everyone will be back to poe before the new year after d4 launches
nice drip Eben! :D
Interesting!
This is why I love PoE
Nice ending there
eben's laugh 😂🥺🥺😳
Naaah man, thats too much with the fire conversion haha
The Winds of Fate is drop disabled.
Gauntlet friendly
0:42 corrupt implicit without corruption :D
Hey why can’t we have that overhead zoomed out spectator-ish view while we play.
