I'm surprised how much views I've gained from this half baked and poor editing video, in fact I don't even have a microphone at that time which is why the audio quality is disgusting. I came up with the idea of this video all the way back in my middle school years. At the time I was not confident with my English speaking skills, so I wrote the script of this video 3 different times and even got my friends to check for spelling mistakes. I completed the whole video on a mobile editing app and hand typed out all the subtitles, since I have no experience in video production, the final product is pretty disappointing. But recently I have just uploaded another video introducing a popular Japanese singer Yuuri/優里, he was once a street performer but after bumping into another popular Japanese singer on Shibuya street, his life was turned around. If you are interested please check out this video, I promise the quality will be at least 10x better than this one, thank you for your support. ua-cam.com/video/E5y6g20fe_g/v-deo.htmlsi=eQco-4Z2FHstzp4a
Thank you so much for this video on Kenshi Yonezu! As a fellow autistic person myself who loves to sing, Kenshi Yonezu is my comfort artist and he brings hope to me. I'm not Japanese, so i don't usually understand his lyrics, but i love his unconventional take in music composition. I read his English-translated interview on his backstory and it's really intriguing. He felt like he was an air in his family because he felt unnoticed, and surprisingly he was okay with it (?) while he always felt like a monster when he was in school because of an incident which we might see as "small"; as a kid, he got hurt on his lower lips and had stitches, and the next day when he was at school his schoolmates gave weird looks at him, that's where he got that perception that he's a monster. It was not just undiagnosed autism at that time, but also he had a bigger body than the rest of his peers, and it was since birth, when he was bigger than babies would normally be. He always wanted to be "normal". He could hardly relate to his peers so he would make a fictional world where he would interact with fictional characters he created and that he was a 'normal' guy. He always felt that he was Japanese in a world of foreigners even though he was born and raised in Japan. Later on as he got older, he feared that his schoolmates would attack him. He hardly studied and attended school later on. As he got his diagnosis at the age of 20 (same age as me currently), he felt more relieved that the traits that were considered 'weird', and later even he ingrained that mindset, made more logical sense. Also, the reason why we love him is because he isn't 'normal'. Like what is normal? Imo in my dictionary there is no such thing as normal. His unconventional music compositions is what makes him unique. I wish that there is less pressure to conform.
Thank you for watching my video and for providing details that I didn't cover. Kenshi Yonezu grew up in a challenging environment, but it's encouraging to see him overcoming his past trauma in recent years. He has gradually changed his public image, revealing his eyes and appearing in more interviews. I'm glad you enjoy his music.
@dalisoula He has done Anime songs in the past but he is not a Anisong singer, and since most of the overseas viewers getting into J-Pop by Anime, he won't be as popular as them.
How should I start... I'm impressed that youtube actually recommended me this video, but I am deeply thankful that happened It's hard to find videos that are or have subtitles in a language I can understand about Yonezu that aren't people reacting to his music, which while I have nothing against those videos and I'm happy to see when people enjoy his songs, I love even more when there is content of people talking about Kenshi, his life, his progress, etc With the things you said, you were able to put into words things I was able to perceive but never knew how to describe, which is really amazing Thank you for this experience, I was even tempted to cry at the end ( I'm a very sensitive person indeed ) Although the technical aspects weren't perfect, I still consider you made a great job, even better considering this was your first video Keep going, I'll be patiently waiting for your future projects :)
I am really really grateful that you enjoyed this video and even watched it all the way till the end, I started the concept of this video around 3 years ago, and because I was new to video productions, it took me 6 months to actually complete, let alone hand type out the subtitles. Thank you for enjoying my video because of your motivation I was able to progress, please look forward to my future videos. 🙏
Thank you so much for the support, this is really the motivational speech that I need, I promise future videos are coming and in BETTER QUALITY, please stay tuned for more. 😭🙏
tbh at this point is he is the only male mainstream singer in japan who can actually sing well in the pop genre. no offense to the other singers, but johnny's singers CANNOT sing and they've been in the centre of mainstream japanese pop music for WAY too long. i am glad to see that he's becoming the most decorated singer.

I agree that Diorama is an awesome album!
Kenshi yonezu is so popular yet so underrated
That's unfortunate a hard fact many people from outside of Asia only recognizes Anime singers which is missing out the shiny gems among the seas.
