@@alanakimitsu1176 I've got it clocked in at around 185bpm on quarter notes... a hair faster than 60bpm on the bars... you could almost set a clock to it :P
@Minecraft Platinum Fireworks It's always sounded more like 12/8 to me, but I might be hearing it wrong... Edit: actually, certain sections do sound like 3/4.
I think the best part about watching your life videos is how much fun y'all look like you're having. That's when good music is great, when you can have fun with it - keep up the good work, you guys are awesome!
I must thank you. Actually I'm suffering with anxiety disorder and it's too hard to get this thing through. But this song, not just making me cry but filling me with determination that I can get rid of this... thing some day and live a normal life. Thanks Martin, thanks Wintergatan. Grettings from Venezuela.
Both versions of your songs are great, but I love your *live* performances even better. You guys are so talented. Love from South Texas. COME HERE, PLEASE!!!
Do you feel that? That's the power of music! Exemplary performance, I dare say! I hope you guys keep on doing what you and us audience enjoy. Have fun all year round!
I rarely ever listen to music but this I make time to listen to. I love it, seems like a completely new type of sound. Thank you for sharing this with us.
When you recorded Visa från Utanmyra Christoffer mentioned how you could sit for hours to decide exactly which sound to use and what sound fits best with the song. I think the segment at 12:00-12:50 really shows this level of perfection; every layer occupies its own space and adds to the sound without taking over or drowning anything else, majestically filling up this spectrum of sound in perfect clarity. This is why I love Wintergatan so much, every sound has a purpose and a reason for being there. Someone might say using 11 different instruments (and playing them live) in a 14 minute song is just a gimmick, but they couldn't be more wrong. It's not a gimmick, it's sonic perfection.
I include the very next section where Martin gets the audience to hold the rhythm, and then folds it back into the reprise as part of this. No it's not perfect (it's a big audience) but it's extremely poignant when you consider everything that's happened in the last three years. Good stuff and this is what music is about, for me.
Thank you for providing an insight into your tour life. You are extraordinary, full of energy, creativity, and very likeable. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Maybe it's the first time I've watched this video carefully (although I've watched it for a while ...). Hmmm, I want to see and listen to Wintergatan live soon!
It was going to say that the bass player and drums were impressive, but the girl synth and much more the genius behind of all... they´re all fabulous. Congrats!!!
Long after watching a lot of the amaaaazing Marble Machine videos I learned about the also amazing music made by Wintergatan and the band itself. And Sommarfågel is by far my new favorite song. Love it!!!
wow.... I cannot find words, this is beyond AMAZING!!!! Martin your Emerson speaks to me in many different languages I NEED MORE T_T ... haven't felt anything like that before.. and yet it makes me smile and it's impossible not to move. Thank you, may you thrive
I keep hearing tracks from songs I've never heard, are these teasers? Even in the last video or videos theres been some pretty amazing demos already ;-; I just want more Wintergatan.
oml I can't help but get emotional in your videos!! with every video my smile gets wider and wider! You, sir, are a GENIUS and I aspire to be just like you!!! ^^
Some bands are "fun". This band isn't. It doesn't make games or a big show. They just stand there and make art. Pure and unadulterated art. It's stunningly beautiful.
Every time i comment on wintegatan`s video, i comment something like amazing, epic or beautiful ,because that is exactly what their music is. I can not wait for the new music!!
The melody of Sommarfågel is just amazing.
Yeah, it's my favorite Wintergatan song. :D
the tempo is about quarter note---121 bpm

Venezuela is a shitty place to live in, i hope you find a better place
Very well worded! I know I’m 3 years late but I just needed to say something. Hope you’re doing better!
Great Sound! And what a drummer!
Yeah brilliant!!
I feel like it is the bass-player and drums keeping this band sharp, and the accordion-player is the extremely creative guy :) Sharp sounds.
Both versions of your songs are great, but I love your *live* performances even better. You guys are so talented.
Love from South Texas. COME HERE, PLEASE!!!
Possibly the longest prep time for any band ever in the history of bands. lol
Thumbs up from the States!
