Last update 01/08/19
I state in the video that it was 1200mAh over in charge capacity but that was a typo it actually was 120mAh over in charge capacity. Thank you to foxabilo for pointing it out to me.

These cells are now BACK IN STOCK on Ebay: goo.gl/VpGao2 See the Video description above for all the links. Thank You . All the best.
Eight ordered today Going into a Solar Camping / Emergency Battery system in the works.
The real question is, can the alternator charge them?
Yes they can I run them in my truck
They only can receive 150amps of charge and put out 200amps
My track car use 4 of the blue ones of higher capacity (the 42xxx are 15AH) and it's awesome. You don't need 200A for a small 4 cylinders. I've seen peaks of 50 to 70 A.
Alexandre Lollini what is the name of these 42??? 15ah? Thanks
FYI: Clarification on Cold Start; Engine that hasn't ran for an extended period of time like parked overnight. It refers to engine has ample time to cool down, and oil has settled from cylinder to the pan. Most engine damage occurs during this initial few seconds of "cold start" when lubrication is not sufficient. Some folks here are confusing "cold start" with starting the engine during cold weather. It is similar, but the test here is satisfactory for definition of Cold Start. The engine temperature and ambient air temperature is very close to each other, at or below average air temperature of 72 degree Fahrenheit. So, from what it looks like this was a true "COLD START". Good video.
Your charger will charge up to 6 cells in series. For 4 cells all you need is a 5 pin balance connector plugged into side of charger so it can read each cell voltage. When you start select 4S and charging current (2A) before you long press START button. I suggest you only use 2A charging as it may overload charger power supply. (2A x 14V=28Watts).
I will see if I can jerry rig something up. My power supply is a 16.5 Amp 12V power supply harvested from an Xbox system. It's 203W so it should be OK for the job. Thanks for the suggestion. All the best.
Just search for 4S JST-XH balance leads on eBay. They are dirt cheap.
Well, this charger only provides 50 Watts charging power. A beefier power supply is not necessary. But it is still better to charge all 4 cells at once in a 4S configuration.
Thanks
Thanks
The main problem for use in a car would be the relative low capacity of 8 Ah. My car (Scoda octavia 1,9 l TDI Diesel) draws 40 mA of standby current just when sitting in the garage. This is for clock and other electronics, maybe also creeping current but seems to be normal on other cars too. This means a loss of 1 Ah per day. So when the car sits still in a garage for one week your battery would be nearly empty or already overdischarged quite a lot.
The other thing is, normally, after starting the car, the lightmachine would charge the battery with a very high current (there is no cc normally!), that can mean it would charge with 30 or 40 amps for a moment. Probably this wouldn't hurt the LiFePo - but not sure here.
A proper BMS would protect the cells. Thanks.
Yes, when thay are nearly empty. You couldn't start then any more, when the BMS had already shut down...
Max Charging rate for these is 80 Amps! Check them out also at www.evassemble.com where I bought Samples of Headway cells, years ago.
car starter is insignificant for such powerful batteries... great review.
Nice. I wonder if half of the question of starting the car cold meant having a cold battery... Stick the battery in the refrigerator to bring it's temp down and try starting the car... Then stick the battery in the freezer for a while and repeat... Just an idea you might consider.
Thank you, I will consider it.
appealing when you consider putting 4 in series times 2 - 3 sets parallel , with BMS of course
Just ordered 4 of these to build a custom pack for my motorcycle. I may end up ordering more later for my other toys lol
They're nice cells and pretty tough too, just don't over torque the screws into them. If you need them to stay put, use LockTite. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and the valuable feedback. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Thank you Richard you answered many questions all in one go for me. I want to buy a pack of 8 and then create 2 cells in a 4S format. I would then use 2 x cheap BMS circuits. They claim to be able to deliver 100a continuous and 150a spike. They are Chinese and I am somewhat distrusting. So watching you start a car, cold without a BMS and with only 4 batteries is extremely encouraging. This will be for my mini camper van. It has to run a 700 watt microwave. In real speak 1050 watts. I will use a 200 watt solar array plus the alternator to charge them. Thanks again you gave me hope.
You are most welcome. I am glad to know I could help you. Thank you for watching, commenting and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
I am seriously thinking of converting my mobility scooter to run on these. I would need 12v 80a
yup they are cool and will start cars
Certainly will! Thank you so much for watching, commenting, the valuable feedback and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
4:06 That is 14.3 volts sir, the small scale is .2 increment :) it is pointed in between .2 and .4 :)
Thanks.
picking fly shit out of the pepper again or still?
Hey, I'm pretty sure that charger can charge all four of those at the same time at 12V (4 in series, AKA 4S).
Just solder the wires from a 4S lipo balance lead to each cell then plug it into the charger's balance port while charging from the outer most negative and positive leads. Google 4s balance wiring diagram.
Excellent. I figured they would do very well. I have small diesel so I might put my pack of eight on it some cold day and see what happens. First though I’m waiting on some hardware. In your other video you did measurements of your connector tie plates. I do not recall you giving a measurement for on center drill hole distance, perhaps you could share that in a video sometime 👍🤓
The hole centers were 7.5mm from the edge of the plates. That allowed the optimal amount of surface contact with the cell. I used a 1/4 inch titanium nitride drill bit as the final bit but I started with a smaller bit to start the hole (also used my HF drill press) though if you had the patience and a steady and strong hand you could do it with a hand drill (no thanks). Thanks.
Actually I was thinking the distance from drill hole to drill hole center for the battery spacing. The other information has been helpful as well. 👍🤓
It's 43mm between the center of the holes on the bars. Thanks.
👍👍👍👍
I saw you using the skyrc software- I use a skyrc d100 charger, and I highly recommend them for you. It'll easily charge up to 2 banks of 6s life4 battery pack, and every other type as well.
I will look into that charger. Can you manually calibrate it? Thanks.
Do you have any documentation on how to use it? I have a B6 (genuine imax - dc version) and it doesn't have a usb port, just what looks like some type of serial header or something. The box and manual state "pc connectivity", but I failed to find anything out when I last searched...at least knowing what the software is called now will probably help quite a bit more,....
I have not done it (but I may) here is a NOT great instruction on how to do it. Thanks.
volvo09 I have seen some b6 users using skyrc software, but any real b6 with pc port can run the logview software and monitor that way. In the free to use logview program, you'll have to select your model from the drop down menu. I use it on a 10s 30a 1000w Icharger and it supports a bunch of different rc charger models.
Awesome test!
You're welcome and thank you so much for commenting and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
I built them in an airplane to save weight. The motor is a 2 stroke, 2 cylinder Solo with 44 kW and a reduction gear (1:3). The systems works fine, as long as it was warm outside. After a cold night (temperature about 0°C) I couldn`t start the motor. The cold batterie breaks down in voltage and amps. You will not find any factory charts for high discharge at low temperature. They know why. I reinstalled a lead Batterie (Odyssey) and everything was fine. Lead batteries are delivering a much higher cold current. The only Li batteries I know for these conditions are A123. I will stay with lead. And please, don`t test always brand new batteries with low cycles. They are always much better than used ones
Thank you for watching, commenting and the valuable feedback. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
I find your post very interesting plus you introduce a new dimension as per the airplane. What about the 18650? would that apply under the same condition?
-20 and 120 would be a fun tests.
Unfortunately I no longer own these cells but it would be interesting. Thank you so much for commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Would you happen to have experience with the blue 15AH cells? I don't quite need 200A but if I can get even 8C out of those blue ones it would be fantastic. Thanks.
Here are the specs on those blue cells (if they are the ones you are referring to) bit.ly/3sZCBTt looks like they only do 3C. Thank you so much for commenting, watching and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Richard here is a link to the Cell spec - www.headway-cn.com/en/showproducts.php?id=1560 - issues that would prevent its use as a replacement for a car battery are:
1/ Max continuous discharging rating is 160amp with 200 peak which is marginal to start a cold car
2/ Most alternators exceed the max continuous charge rate of 40a
3/ It is not recommended to charge below +5 degree centigrade and charging at below freezing will permanently damage the cells
Seems like 1 of those cells would make a pretty badass flashlight battery?
If you could find a light to fit it, yes. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
You could put the cells in the fridge to imitate winter weather cranking.
Thanks I will consider that. All the best.
Noooooooo Lifepo4 start to internally crystalize below +5c any attempt to charge them below freezing will permanently damage them - the working range for Lifepo4 is +5 to +65 C
First off both videos were awesome.....and second....could these batteries be use as back up power for an RV system to run a 12 volt inverter to power tv's etc ? And use solar panels with a 12 volt solar charge controller to charge the batteries ? I would like to build a battery bank of these...Thanks
Yes, if properly implemented with a LIFEPO4 BMS and charging system they could be used for all those purposes. Thanks.
Can 8 of these cells operate a 24v trolling motor? And charge by solar panels?
It kind of makes Lead car batteries redundant. You need less space, it weighs less and probably costs less than a standard battery.
I can see a day when they will replace them. Thanks.
Has any one connected them end to end? Seems like with some all thread or a coupling they could be joined together and maybe slid in a PVC tube? Any way thanks for the Vid and all your work.
They could be connected in that manner but I not sure that they would make a reliable enough contact to transfer their full power reliably. Thanks.
Would the alternator charger them? Or damages them? They are sold out, any other place to get them?
Hi, how long will a 12-14v battery set run a 12-24v fridge? An Engel and a similar size Waco fridges would be a good test. Good vid thanks for sharing
You know if the cells are not cold it's not a real good test but still could be pretty cool with like 8 because I mean I have mostly v8s
Two four cell batteries in parallel would give you 400A that would be good enough I am sure. You could even go bigger. Here is a BMS that would do the job for one 4 cell pack at Ebay: goo.gl/Kystjv
Thank you.
Please question: if i will replace the heavy led battery by a lithium battery, Do i have to use the Charger every time when i will start the engine, or the Alternator will Charge it when i drive the car?
You would have to create a circuit with a BMS that charges the battery pack you made with these cells using (constant current-constant voltage) as well you would have to isolate the battery from the Alternator directly as it would not properly charge the pack. As well you would have to protect the whole system from the extreme environment that exists under the hood of you car. I have never done it but I am sure it is possible. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
debido a que la resistencia de la pila es tan baja puede gotear o puede explotar si la carga con un voltaje no especificado por el fabricante.
Hello, anyone knows which would be the best BMS for an array of 8 batteries. I mean 12v 16 amp? Thanks in advance
Check on on eBay(paid): ebay.us/ZypcGd it may be more practical to use 8 separate charging modules to do this job, like these on Amazon(paid): amzn.to/42min5s or eBay(paid): ebay.us/OrMdfQ I have a video on one of these modules here. It will charge a 12V battery at 8A: ua-cam.com/video/4Iey_qXxAmk/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for commenting and watching. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Just curious the highest amount of amperage I could find was 100 amp bms which I have purchased for my headway cells, are you saying 8 cells with 2 bms's ?? I was curious if these would start a vehicle. I dont know a whole lot about batteries or electricity but this is what I was wondering.... 14.6 volt I believe is the amount of maximum voltage you would want to charge these and you certainly wouldn't want them dropping below 2.5 per a cell or 10 volts... What Im confused about is what the hell would a bms matter if the vehicle was charging at 14.6 volts?, If im not mistaken I believe most alternators run right around 14.6 volts and unless you were using the battery a lot without the alternator when on earth would you run into a problem unless the alternator failed? My reasoning for purchasing a bms was I was going to use the cells on there own to power different devices and thought using a bms would be my safest route. Also to note I recently had to purchase a agm battery and was informed not to ever charge it over 14.6 volts I had a tinenergy lipo4 charger that works excellent however I have two battery chargers as well one of them being a craftsman both supposedly charge agm but I wouldnt advise it because they go over 14.6 volts.
Charging a battery is simply a case of putting a charge onto a battery via a charge controller.
Question is this true irrespective of the battery type. Can one simply switch batteries ?
Love your definition of “cold”. Where I live, cole is minus forty
It's all relative, I lived in Northern Ontario Canada and my record cold there was -57C. So I know cold. Thanks.
*cold
Hello richard, nice video. I want to make a 12 volt cell with 8 cells so i have 64ah wich is enough for a day of fishing. I want to use it for my boots fronttrolling motor. I heard you talking about bms wich you have to use when you want to charge them all in one time. can you show me how to do that? buy the way, the cells are sold out at ebay i think. I hope to hear from you soon.Eric
Good video bro
I'm built a 40ah battery using 20 of these cell not sure on how to wire for 40 amp hours also what the best way to bottom balance the cells and what's a good voltage for bottom balancing I'm using them for car audio
Not sure exactly how you have these configured. Make sure you NEVER go below 2.5V or over 4.2V on the cells. I would recommend that you use a BMS for what ever configuration you are using. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Hi man.what is difference between them and 15ah model?
7 Amp Hours more capacity. You are getting 87.5% more energy storage in the 15AH battery from the 8AH battery. Thank you so much for commenting and watching. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
I am trying to replace the batteries on a 1986 MCI 102-A3 bus. They are two massive 8D 12V Lead Acid batteries. Any direction on doing that and use Lithium instead?
Take a look at these:
4 SPIM08HP 3.7V 8AH LIPO Cells At eBay: goo.gl/CTuhQo
20 SPIM08HP 3.7V 8AH LIPO Cells At eBay: goo.gl/w7rJ5N
42 SPIM08HP 3.7V 8AH LIPO Cells At eBay: goo.gl/5SL8Wm
I have a video on these here: ua-cam.com/video/sREdlaPEgLg/v-deo.html and here ua-cam.com/video/Gw9f68gN_s4/v-deo.html
These were harvested from Chinese electric buses so they will probably serve you well.
But understand these are LIPO cells you will have to make batteries at 12V that give you the amperage you need and you will have to have the appropriate BMS and charging system to match them. It's doable but is it worth it? I don't know. Nice Bus!
Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
Lets build the bms and charge this pack with alternator
Here is 200Amp capable LifePO4 BMS built for automobiles at Ebay: goo.gl/Kystjv I would need two for the 8 cells.
I am confused... Once the car is running, the alternator will be providing >12v back to the terminals. Wont the batteries, just 'topup' like a lead-acid? If we want to only charge them through a bms, how can we isolate them from the alternator current?
The BMS should handle that.
Could you make a video on those BMS's? Also how would you hook them up in parallel. I question how well those BMS' would handle the 200+ amps of current required to start a car with those little mosfets. We all know the chinese love to overrate their products.
I doubt these chineese 5mm mosfets will work on 200A :D
Where do you get the bus bars and cell holders for cells this size?
Try on eBay. Thanks.
Hmm looks like they would fit well inside the frame of a bicycle.(stealth ebike)
Yes that is a possibility. Thanks.
Can you replace your car/motorcycle battery with these cells?Could you actually keep the cells connected to your car and keep using it everyday?Would the cells need a pcb balancer?
It would think it would require a BMS (Battery Management System) to do so as well as a proper charging circuit to isolate the battery the alternator and the cars built in 12V charging system. I am not an engineer and I have not implemented this configuration so understand this is just speculation on my part. I am NOT responsible for your results. Thanks. All the best.
Thanks for your answer .Which BMS should i use ? Any ideas?
Richard Lloyd i have a 500F supercapacitors in series on board and i want to build a Lead acid replaced for my 4cylinders 750cc motorcycle. How should i connect 6 18650 batteries i have to charge the supercapacitors? Thanks!
What balancer do i need for 8 of these connected to 12V
It depends on the configuration. If you're doing a two parallel 4S packs then you will need two 4S balance circuits. But this is just a guess. Research balance solutions and come up with a specific to your configuration solution to make sure that you get the right result. Here's some information: bit.ly/3XHUl3r Thank you so much for commenting and watching. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
67 isn't a cold start.
should try freezing it and then using it.
It is all about the voltage drop on the battery, doesn't really matter too much what the temp of the rest of the car is.
No one worries about their car starting on a 67 degree (arguably perfect, even according to the laws that dictate what government buildings have to operate their air conditioning)
You would be surprised how much temperature effects the viscosity of motor oil. And how much that change in viscosity effects the amp draw on your battery.
@@wolffforge4839 probably not too surprised. The effect of heat (cold is merely the absence of heat, isnt a real thing itself) on materials is covered at an early age. Probably more surprising that the viscosity itself would make specific engine types hard to start. Which is more related to the mechanics and an increase in the sustained draw from getting the engine to "turn".
Depending on how said powertrain is engineered, that can be completely overcome. Just look at newer hybrid cars for good examples of what I'm saying.
Currently what's surprising me is what you can do with some of the newer amalgams (mercury mixed with things) to accomplish things we didnt previously think possible.
For instance, you can use a special amalgam to filter smokestacks on industrial buildings, and turn that smoke directly into usable coal. Just by running it through a specific amalgam filter.
Yes , battery output drops as chemical reaction is slowed down due to cold temperature, but cold engine temperature is also harder to crank due to thickening of lubricating oils, so it's even harder to crank the engine. An engine that was recently turned off would still be warm, even the battery would have warmed up and charged up, and lubricating oil would still be present (not settled) in cylinder walls. What's the point of starting an already warmed up engine in cold freezing weather if it was recently turned off? But, you're right battery output is diminished when the battery is cold due to slow chemical reaction. COLD START during freezing cold weather is the real challenge. But, still, this was a cold start.
Can someone make a bank of like 48 (or however many it takes to make the total voltage right) kinda like people are doing with supper caps? Or would you need a difference way of charging them ?
I do not have enough to do so. Thanks.
Richard Lloyd lol
Where are these batteries repurposed from? What did they come out of?
what if thay where left out in -0F or below
Not sure what the operating temperature range would be but I know that cold does adversely affect performance. Thank you so much for commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
How are you going to get your Alternator to charge those bad boys.
Or am I to understand that this test is just for jump starting a dead battery?
You would need a BMS and a proper charging system for this chemistry. I only showed this as a proof of concept and to show how powerful these cells are. Thanks.
you would just need a hobby balance charger as most of them will run on a car battery as they are designed to do so, hobby king is probably your best bet to find one at a good price, you wont need a bms then as it is built into the charger ;-) just make sure the charger will balance charge lifepo4
Leave the battery in the cold as well all night. That's the issue with LIFE4PO batteries. They don't like cold weather
I connected these cells to my vehicle as a test. I would not recommend using them as a replacement car battery. Thanks
That's what I thought.
If I were to make two 12.8v with 8 cells, for car audio usage with a 270 amp alternator. What BMS would you recommend for each bank of 4?
These cells are no longer available from the seller but he does have these at Ebay: goo.gl/uVPS7h I have several videos on these cells and I think they are a better alternative. Here is my video review on them ua-cam.com/video/sREdlaPEgLg/v-deo.html and here is the complete review: ua-cam.com/video/Gw9f68gN_s4/v-deo.html How many amps are you planning on pumping out to your audio system? Thanks.
Richard Lloyd I already have 8 of the cells purchased and in my possession. But I don’t want to put these into a vehicle without a BMS for them. I’m still learning so would I need (2) 4s 8amp 12.8v BMS?
I have the same ? About car audio ok so take his thought with a 270amp alternator. And you asked what kind of draw. So lets just say im running a 10k amplifier i would draw between idk 700 to 900amps(continuously more or less) kinda depending on alot of shit but if those were the numbers. Please what kind of BMS would you use for this and yes i kno you would need more banks but still what would you suggest to achieve this. I like many would die to have a safe and legit answer. Please.
How many cells are need to get 200AH?
200/8Ah=25 cells connected in parallel will give you this amount. He is out of these particular cells I recommend going with these from the same seller on Ebay: goo.gl/T9jvcn they are LIPO, they are lighter in weight the same capacity and most of all available to buy. You may have to buy a few extra to make up for the decrease in capacity on average over all. they are used cells but they are a great value. I use them all the time. See my video on the SPIM08HP 8Ah cells here: ua-cam.com/video/Gw9f68gN_s4/v-deo.html Thanks.
hey how many would I need for a 72v 200ah pack when using the 10 ah version of these cells
Hahahaha.. come here in northern Canada. Minus 45 on the winter.
I know all about it. I lived in Sudbury, ON. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
hey I see blue ones and red ones what's the difference?
Storage capacity. The blue cells are 10ah here on Ebay: goo.gl/iepjLD and the red cells I show in the video are 8ah here on Ebay: goo.gl/wx6shV Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
for a lifepo4 car starter battery i would personally use minimum 80ah capacity
Thank you for watching, commenting and the valuable feedback. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
AH is pretty meaningless with different batteries. an 80ah headway battery could safely pull over 2,000 amps. Where as a lot of lifepo4's are
hi. how was that 4 cells.equal to 200A? im very confused
Each cell can produce up to a 200amp output. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
IF you have a manual trans you can start your car with D Cells! Just tape 10 together, solder a wire at +/- and connect to car. Now you Bump start the car. I have done this. Manual trans only.
I bought 3 sets of these cells but have been unable to find connecting bars (at least with a reasonanle shipping fee), could you help with info on finding some beyond "search ebay"? Where did you get yours?
I made mine using a peice of steel from a Harbor Freight wood clamp. I cut it into 5 sections, drilled it out and ground down the contact points. I am going to make some more bus bars but this time I am going to use copper pipe to do so. I will make a video on that and test how they work in comparison. Thanks.
Richard Lloyd thanks, I will check that video, and probably do the same

I might say something wrong but finding plate band of aluminum in different wide range is not that difficult ...
It gets hot real quickly I get it, and got welding point way under copper, but stand soft metal with good contact surfaces ...
And not that hard to find .
Even some u shaped to evacuate excess temp if needed .
Might be wrong about .
You should look into the videos on super capacitors doing the same.
the link need update cant find them anywhere and lnk lead to ebay front page
The supplier ran out of stock. Thanks.
Pilas recargable de litio 12v 100A(cargar con 0.100v)
How would I charge these if I was to put it in my motorcycle
You would need a proper LIFEPO4 charger and a LIFEPO4 BMS to do it right. Thanks.
Did it can use for vape?
Hi...where did you buy your cells ? Thanks
You can still get them here on Ebay: goo.gl/ipk5ys Thanks.
How many of those will I need to get 100 ah?
can you not get a shock off them ?
Yes it is possible to get a shock from them. Handle all batteries with care. Be safe. Thanks.
Wow, that would fly a drone a long time. Take a trip over to R/C world. The electric planes have the packs put together with 1, 2 , 3 or 4 cells. The charger for these asks what voltage and then a charging harness hooks up sending power to each cell in little short bursts that each cell comes up to full charge about the same time as all the others. This is a "balanced charge". These packs are small to keep weight down and expensive. Often one cell out of 2 or 3 or 4 goes out and this renders the "pack" destroyed. Also they used to recommend charging these battery packs inside a special fireproof sock because the packs sometime bought fire. They also stated NEVER CHARGE these battery packs when no one is in the room, in caae of fire. They would first swell, vent a stinky smell, then smoke, then catch fire and as you know lithium burns FIERCELY!!!
Thank you for watching, commenting and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
I need this ceels
The alternator would try to charge your pack.... Isn't that going to be bad for the pack?
The charging system for lead acid battery in a car is a constant current/constant voltage (CC/CV) which is what these cells require but the charging system in a car also has a constant topping feature built in. I am not sure whether it would hurt these cells at all as they would be near their capacity at that point. It has not hurt my cells yet but as you saw they were not on there very long. The highest voltage the system would supply the pack would be 14.4V which would not be a problem. Here is a more detailed explanation of lead acid charging :goo.gl/QPQmFV
I don't want a channel I'm just commenting : getting my assumption hat on here.... Short term it'd probably be fine, but long term you'd need balancing. Since cars charge at 14.2 to 14.4 (with newer cars dropping to 13.8 at low electrical load to save a bit of fuel) it's under the max voltage of the pack. I'll have to look up how they handle a constant "top off" voltage though... That degrades li ion cells over time, but these aren't them...
If you build one of these just to jump-start, the charging current would not harm the pack. However, if left in place while the engine was running, it would ruin the cells. To use a pack of these as a permanent LA battery replacement, it is imperative to get a proper BMS and charge the pack through it.
Thanks for that answer. It was going to be my question also.
For Ultralight Airplane use, say a 30kw(40.2hp) Electric Motor. How do you figure how many Lithium Cells needed for a Battery Pack for say 1hr 15min of Flight, with say a :20min Reserve, plus a :10min Battery Reserve using one of these REB 30 Motors at www.rotexelectric.eu/products/bldc-motors/reb-series/ and not using the Max Power, say Max 35hp(26kw) for Takeoff 3 min, then Cruise at say 25hp(18.6kw)?
TYPE = REB 30
TURN = 3
VOLTAGE = 120 (V)
CURRENT CONTINUOUS / MAX (KW) = 15 to 30
WORKING ROTATION = 4000
WEIGHT (G) = 8200
RPM/V (1) = 34.
are they any more Available?
Check the link in the video description. Thanks.
Can you replace car battery. Can you charge of the car. Take care. )
What USB cable is that?
Not sure what you mean. Thanks
With 16 pieces of the cells I can then better work the start of the car for day-to-day use.
In the right configuration that could be probable. Understand that I was only testing the cells to see what they could do. I can NOT recommend this solution as an alternative to a regular car battery. There are many safety factors built into your automobile which should not be altered. Understand that I take ZERO responsibilities for your actions, damages or injury caused in the use of these cells in ANY way. Check the manufacturers recommendations and specifications for proper use. Be safe. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
How could this be used as a battery for a car . I have several 80s Mercedes. And I drive them from time to time not daily .
Vape?
If the vape is for an elephant, yes, well no, not even then. LOL. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
Dud, you sound like Moe.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
Get these cells for 5 bucks now
Wow, that's amazing! I may look into buying them at that price. You're most welcome and thank you so much for commenting and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
-30c? Put it in an ice box then test!!
Thanks, I may do that. All the best.
so in theory there is a ~50amp draw on each cell right?
I am not sure how that would work as the cells are connected in series. Thanks.
nopp, there will be 200amps draw on each cell because they're in serie (14.*v)
Yes you are correct. Thanks.
May be more then 200Amp for a 6 cyl. 3,5L engine but yes the whole current per cell but every single cell gives 3,2V or like 2,5V under heavy load.
Negative. In series the current is equal across all cells. In parallel the current is divided by the number of cells
i think it was kik azz it started the car great vid
I was really impressed as well. Thanks.
Bitchin! Great review
You are most welcome. Thank you for watching, commenting and the kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.
Electric cars don’t have a problem starting.
My Hyundai Santa Fe has no problem starting either. Thanks.
My Hybrid goes well when I put it in D for day but hopeless in N for night just nothing..
My car eats cars like yours.
