The love of my life was Russian. He was a brilliant mathematician, spoke flawless English, was so handsome & like most Russian men was very masculine but not macho. Russian culture is very patriarchal so gender roles are strongly adhered to & they're very homophobic. He used to put me to sleep at night tucking the covers tightly around me & singing Russian lullabies to me. He'd record love songs for me, especially Elvis Presley - our song was "It's Now or Never." He was very close with his family - Russians are much more family oriented than Americans. They are also far more respectful of their elders & wouldn't dream of warehousing them in nursing homes like Americans do. We were planning to spend the rest of our lives together & I was in the process of moving to Moscow when he had a sudden, completely unexpected heart attack & died just 3 days after we celebrated his 54th birthday. I was nearly suicidal with grief. It's been a year & 4 months and I still grieve constantly for him. I adored him.
I've been dealing with nepalese for a while, after an earthquake to do some charity for them. And I've realised that it's culturally normal for women there to carry heavy things and give birth very early. As a result, many of them have uretrine prolapse which is terrible. So, it;s not a myth- it's bad for woman's health to carry things often. Just look throgh the pictures and trty to understand.
I'm dating a Russian man. He's very nice and caring. Best part is that he knows what he wants and he doesn't play games. Takes me to very nice places for dates. Buys me flowers every now and then. He's the best. Only problem: They are not really expressive of their emotions and love words! They assume you already know!! Haha!
@@dorsaal6194 I don't know your culture. I'm a Rus girl living in US. I was dating a latino guy and I feel like our guys are real man and latino are like chicken blah-blah-blah. From some point I just feel that he bs me. I expect flowers, gifts and good dates as I always had it with Russian men, and receive just bs. I don't want his "feelings" if it's just words. A man for Rus girl is a verb. And the guy in the video says "Am I look like your friend?" bc he knows that with Rus girl hi will move to friendzone if she pays.
You see, for most Russian girls and men, actions are much more important than words. They Express all the seriousness of their intentions. Words of love are an important step for couples in Russia, they are never thrown to the wind. Most often, they begin to speak when the relationship has lasted for quite a long time, and people have deeper feelings for each other than simple sympathy and are 100% sure of them.
I am a Russian guy and I live in Russia. It's a lie that we expect a girl to dress sexy for dates and bars. I do not support such, like many of our guys. And not everyone loves to drink, keep that in mind.
@@unbreakablenokia363 I know right. Oof, now I feel bad for all the men from around the world. I mean, it's not really their fault, it's just that things have changed over time. I wish we could go back to the days when guys are actually romantics.
I have a Russian man and I LOVE the way he treats me. Really does feel like old school love. He bought me flowers on the first two dates and my jaw dropped!
Yes, Russian guys can be very sweet when they want it. I know this by myself. Yes, I am a single Russian young man. And yes, you have probably heard a lot of bad things about Russians. But I don't drink, don't smoke, don't use drugs and don't beat women. In short, I have many positive traits. And yeah, I am looking for a foreign girlfriend. If you want to know how I look and hear my Russian accent, then watch the videos on my channel. And there you will learn how to contact me.
My husband is Russian and whilst some of these things don't ring true for him (like expecting me to dress up sexy) I have to say my husband is very protective and romantic. The whole mindset is like going back in time, he really treats me well . I've never experienced that with Western men
My husband was born in Soviet Union, he makes me incredibly happy. He is not the first russian man I dated, trust me ladies, if you are strong and independent, Russian men is the way to go (and viceversa). They know how to handle strong women, they will fight for you, protect you, and will empower you.

The one thing I think is missing is the family aspect of the relationship. With my Russian fiance, his parents are very involved in our lives. They took me in like another daughter and treated me with love from the very beginning of our relationship. There was a lot of pressure to get married, and they want to be grandparents as soon as possible, because family is to important to them. I've been with my Russian fiance for 3 years, known him for 10. He moved to the US for about 15 years ago. Even growing up in American schools, most of these points definitely still apply to him. He isn't a fighter or a drinker, but if he has to fight, he will; if his dad wants to do shots, he will. His mother has taught me how to cook better, because he definitely appreciates a good meal, though he doesn't really expect it. He's very direct and doesn't like the bullshit of delaying to soften feelings. Oh, and the dressing up when gathering with other women, 100%. I was going to wear jeans and a nice shirt to his mom's birthday party, and he asked me if I was going to change, and said all the women will be super dressed up. And they were, formal dresses, sparkling jewelry, heels, everything, just to hang out at their house. Very different from American culture, but I love Russian culture and my Russian family so much.
I'm so happy for you and your man! I'm also dating a russian man and his family took me in as their own daughter too. to be honest sometimes I get scared of coming over to his parents' place because I'm scared that I'm underdressed so I always come in pants or skirts. any advice? >
@@spaceoddity6911 for me it depends on the occasion. My in-laws live on a farm so if it's just a casual stop over, have some food and beer, I don't really put too much thought into what I wear. But if it's a party, ESPECIALLY New Years with all their friends Russian friends, I go all out: sparkly dress, full makeup, etc. Also, my partner just told me the other day that his mom found her dress to wear to our wedding. I asked how it looked, and he said "I didn't see it, but it's purple, and mom said specifically that it wasn't sexy, because the focus should be on you" 😂😂 TL:DR go with your gut, be confident, and if all else fails, bring some flowers for the mom and do shots with the dad. (At least that's what I do).
They love bringing you flowers and little presents. They LOVE it when you wear skirts/dresses and heels. They don't like it when women curse. They open every door for you. They don't let you carry bags/anything heavy. They feel insulted if you try to pay.
The men do exactly what the women demand, because they know they won't stand a chance if they just behave as they were meant to be. It's a female dominated culture.
God this is so accurate! Especially the part about gifts....my Russian friend (who I later discovered had feelings for me) bought me a ruby necklace during our very first meeting. (He was an online friend). I was overwhelmed by his kindness.
I am Turkish and my boyfriend is Russian. He's such an amazing person. He warms my heart. The video is an accurate representation of my experience- except for one part- he would never ask me to dress slutty if there'll be people around. He dislikes that.
@@antonvashkelis6049 Well, I certainly don't identify as a Christian. Turkish girls date who they want. There is a vast variety of beliefs and practices in Turkey, and marrying foreigners is a common practice for both men and women. I will not respond to any further distasteful remarks.
I am a girl from Turkey and my bf is from Russia. I feel like I found my significant other. We have a very serious and a committed relationship. He is not a person to drink alcohol that much as it is shown and he also doesn't like when I wear such very showing clothes still he is not a person to criticize my clothes in general. I really feel like our family and life values are actually so much similar. Russia may seem far but when it comes to the culture and the family life we have a lot in common. I feel so happy with him, he is a very affectionate and passinonate man. And when they love someone they are really into the relationship and they take it seriously. Love you a lot my miracle, my Alyosha
@Сергей Serge I don't think of like that about any woman. They all have their own mindset of course, it is just different than mine. My bf is also a half Ukrainian) Hope that you will have a happy life with her))
I'm German and my boyfriend is half Russian half Irish. When he paid all the time for my food I was feeling absolutely awful because in German culture it would look like I'm "just with him for the money" and even my parents told me how mean and abusing I am for "letting him pay all the time". But for him it's just a part of being a gentleman. I came to accept is as a sign for affection. Also the love goes through the stomach thing is true, when I met his russian grandparents they invited themselves in to our place to test my cooking (probably to see if I'm worth dating their grandson). I was standing in the kitchen for 3h making the best food I knew from scratch. I succeeded 😂
Since childhood, we have been taught the idea that a person is the protection and support of his family. A Russian male is a hunter and a warrior, ready at any time to protect his woman (mother, wife, sister, daughter). And for us this is normal for Russians. A Russian man can give a gift or his woman without a reason, pay an invoice in a restaurant. No Russian man will pass by a woman who descends a stroller with a child on the stairs, even if he does not know this woman. Russian women appreciate it, he help them. This is part of our upbringing.
My husband is Russian. I am from Kazakhstan. He is very kind, attentive, handsome. He is the best thing that happened in my life. when I was seriously ill, my husband did not turn away from me. He took care of me, bought medicine, found the best doctors for me. His love and care helped me recover. Russian men are good in all respects. I wish all girls have such husbands.
My boyfriend is Russian and he's everything. He's the most gorgeous man I've ever seen in my life. I feel like I’m looking at a movie star with him. 🤩 This video is very accurate. Actually we met online as language partners, so we are very long distance. He takes control in every situation everywhere, he likes to do the talking, lead, carry every bag, open every door. Very gentlemanly. He doesn’t care about dressing sexy or high heels though. Actually he prefers that I am not as appearance obsessed as some Russian girls, and that I can go out without makeup. He doesn’t try to control what I wear which I appreciate. He's not a big drinker. But he is VERY protective, possessive and a bit jealous. He also loooovveessss a home cooked meal but he’s not as extreme as this video and doesn’t mind some fast food or pizza occasionally. I see some comments about Russians being cold. Girl No. They’re men on the outside, stoic and in control but on the inside they’re teddy bears. My Russian is super affectionate. Loves to cuddle, and call me every cute petname in the book: solnyshko, malyshka, lyubimaya, bulochka, sladkaya zhopa.))) Я люблю вас, русские мужчины. Вы просто замечательные, красавчики, мужики, особенно мой парень. Он просто мечта.)) We've been together for 6 months, and I'm moving in with him in a week. Bridging the distance, I'm so excited to be with him again. 🥰 Edit: 8 Months! He's still the most amazing, such a sweetie and cooks and takes good care of me when I'm sick! ❤ Such husband material. I met his mom. She's so sweet and loves me already. Edit 2: He proposed! 💍❤ He’s the best, language barrier getting easier with time. Was definitely a challenge in the beginning!!! Being an American girl dating a Russian, I can say these things are true. He grew up in Russia but moved to the US where I met him & he is by far the best person I know. I dated a lot of American guys before him and they are all nothing compared to him. So ladies pay attention, go out and meet some Russian guys, and I promise you'll think to yourself "Why haven't I done this sooner?!"
I have been dating my boyfriend who is Russian for over a year now and I can vouch for this video 100%. Its funny how accurate it is especially about how they like men being manly and women being feminine. As long as he keeps complimenting my cooking, I'll keep his belly full
I am so happy to have a Russian boyfriend. He is the most amazing person I have ever met in my life. I can’t imagine a single day without him, he makes me laugh and smile so much with his kindness and protectiveness. Russian men are definitely the way to go.
For 6 years ago I was dating a Russian guy. He was very handsome and he did exactly the same things you showed in your video. He was very generous and treated me like princess 😍 I'm still very sad that I broke up with him. I really love Russian people.
Одной из причин, по которой я выучила русский язык, было то, что их характер очень близок нашему (я болгарка). И я действительно чувствую себя как дома, когда я с русскими. С любовью из Болгарии🇧🇬🇷🇺
in the USA for more than 25 years I had many russian male friends and they all impressed me with their fealess attitude and loyalty to their friends and family...great people
Indian marriage is considered to be very important in the world.Indian marriage is added to the birth of Rishto of two hearts, for janmas. Hm...I am a Russian man (but living in the USA now:-)), and i can tell you, that this video is pretty accurate. Of course, this vodka scene is exaggerated (it`s taking from a very low-class life style), and usually, Russian man even more romantic, open minded, and active when dating) . For example-i always open the door for the woman, give my hand to help she leave a car, and so on)
Not everything true - not all russians drink a lot, and not everyone cares about how u looks like, especially when u meet friends. Im Russian, and most of my friends and i dont like alcohol, but most of other stuff here - facts)
LOL so accurate with my Russian man. He was born in 1990 in the Soviet Union and when it fell he came to the US. He has a lot of American traits, but still holds tradition like being protective, loves it when I dress up and he LOVES my cooking. Once you go Russian there ain't no repercussion!
I want to say this to all the women on this planet. Most russian guys don't care what race you are, what skin color you are and what country you are from, it doesn't matter to them, they just want a girl who they love and that she reciprocate and believe me if he loves you he will be with you to the end.

@@yosoykarito Yes, I know russian people, because I am russian to myself, and as for how we are portrayed in Europe and the United States, we are aware of this, it does not offend us, but even amuses us, and sometimes we use this and other stereotypes about us, the main thing remember, ordinary russian people are the same people as everyone else, it's just that our criminal government is trying to turn us against Europe and the United States, many of us hate Putin and want him to be in prison.
I am glad that you are happy. And I guess that other girls want to be happy, too. So, girls, if you need a true Russian man, then pay attention to me. I am a single young Russian man who is looking for a foreign girl. I am smart, funny and faithful. I have UA-cam channel, where I publish my funny videos. So right now you can see what I look like and hear my strong Russian accent. And there you will find data for communication with me.
New Zealand? Well, to be honest, I'm looking for a decent girl from an English-speaking country. So if you are really interested in Russian guys, then this information is for you. Generally speaking, I am a single Russian guy. And I am very surprised that some foreign girls are actually interested in Russian guys. Well, if this is true, then let's get acquainted. I am real Russian. But I have no bad habits. I don't drink, don't smoke, don't take drugs, don't beat women and so on. In short, I'm a perfect Russian. And if you want to see how I look and hear my strong Russian accent, then you can watch videos on my channel. Yes, my contact details are there, if you want to get a Russian boyfriend.
But Your Russian friends whom you invited would never ever touch your girl even if bladdered and the ones who can do that are never invited in the first place and yes if stranger does that in some outing then he surely get punched on face. Our woman is everything for us and Yes we never let woman pay any where..Loved the Cooking part that is so true we love them more if they're a fantastic cook.
Sounds really bad. But you know, I'm married russian too and he is the most loving and nicest person I ever met. And he would never ever even shout at me. So it's not about nationality, I think it's more personal. You can find great or crazy husbands/wives in any culture
Its true. Russian men are the best. I met my business partner this week. And he is young handsome and smart. And so caring towards woman. Polite as well. Carrying my laptop bag cause its too heavy. Open the door for me. Paying the bills on night outs. And just so calm
You have Russian boyfriend when he makes you always gifts 😂❤️without a reason or gives you flowers.. they treat their woman like the best in the world. And Russian guys are VERY handsome too and they have a good sense of style👌🏻
hello)) let's get acquainted soon)) it is very interesting for me to meet a foreign girl! They say that they are very strong and independent! but I think every girl needs care!
When I met my boyfriend, I was literally speechless when we first talked on the phone because he was already planning our future and telling me God brought us together.. I wasn't prepared for that.. wow 🤣 These men DO NOT mess around! If you have to question if a Russian man wants you - he definitely doesn't.
Omg I just met a Russian guy and he’s very straight forward and I’m surprised that he is like that, cause Mexicans take a long time to know if they want you or not
Girl I know. My husband has Russian background although he grew up in Northwest Germany. He has a little German culture influences but he’s very very Russian. When I met him, he was very intense in his approach, he praised me in every way possible, he said that I’m exactly his type and beautiful, he asked if I’m a singer because my voice is so beautiful and feminine, and after a while he said he’s in love and wants to marry me, he did fly to my country to ask my hand and to meet my family after a very short time. Russian men play no games at all. They’re straightforward and direct about their feelings. And I love that.
Be careful. You could be dealing with a Narcissist love bombing you in the initial stages to secure your interest, but doesn't truly care for you, just what they can get out from you as their supply (admiration, attention, sex, devotion, etc.). There's a reason men don't commit right away if they don't know you well for the same reason as women wouldn't, but men got to know for sure. Those that care, make the effort to know you first. There can be no real love without this at minimum if they don't even know or bother to get to know you. Just be careful, narcissists are can be dangerous and they play their part well.
Well, different Russians behave differently. But among Russian guys there are definitely good people. For example, I am a single Russian who does not drink, does not smoke, does not use drugs and does not beat women. In short, I have many positive traits. And yeah, I am looking for a foreign girlfriend. If you want to find out how I look and hear my Russian accent, then watch the videos on my channel. And there you will learn how to contact me.
The second one is so true! They buy flowers for their women for no reason. I know someone whose Russian husband always does that and it’s not only him, her father-in-law does that to her mother-in-law too!
Certainly. If we like a person, we want to make it nice. No matter the mother-in-law, the girl, the grandmother, just the acquaintance, we want to make thus a little more pleasant day for this person. Besides, that's how we're raised. Local girls to the word for the most part, don't like that, they think that giving flowers is cliche, because you have to be more creative=)
I am Italian, husband is Ukrainian but the video worths for him too. They are the best men on the planet, assertive, strong , manly! Yeah! But he doesn't force me to cook, actually I like to cook for him. And he doesn't drink so much (only on celebrations, but I have never seen him drunken).
I am currently dating a Russian guy and I can definitely say he is the best man I have ever seen in this world ( not just because he is my boyfriend lol) he is so caring, supportive, kind and contrary to my expectations he does not like drinking! when I am with him, I really feel like I am in those old romance movies where everything is perfect 😍 🤩
Same here! 😃 I just recently started dating a Russian man, and this is literally the first guy I’ve EVER been with who makes me feel romantically pursued. And not just pursued: the way he conducts himself radiates this inner confidence and chivalry that I’ve just never encountered in North American men before. I’m a modern woman in most every sensibility, and he not only keeps up with me…he attracts me, he interests me, he takes me into consideration!! It’s so refreshing, and for the first time ever in my dating history I’m hoping this relationship actually goes somewhere. 💐
Haha, yes, we are so wonderful! Well, at least among Russian guys there are a lot of good men. For example, me. By the way, I am a single Russian guy, looking for a foreign girl for a serious relationship. It is not joke. You can see what I look like and hear my accent if you watch some funny videos about me on my channel.

I'm an (Americanized) Latina and lots of those "traditional" gender role and expectations aren't foreign to me.
I never thought I would say that but I miss dating a Russian guy. There are so many things that bother me about Russian men and I dislike their bossy attitude and their possessiveness but boy do I sometimes want to just be a weak woman next to my man. Get flowers, get invited to restaurants where there's no weirdness when we're ready to pay. Just be like: I've got my man and he got this and I can just relax. A few remarks from russian guy would be good? Whatever, I'm doing it. 1) Russian men are super direct. Kinda true. We're not really good in this emotional plays and if we want something we most likely take direct approach. Its faster and fairer, you know? There are exeptions though, some of us really shy. 2) Russian men are assertive. Well, i dont feel like this is true. We can listen to opinions of other. We are most likely to ignore it, but we listen sometimes. Really... 3 and 6)Picking up the tab and protecting women. True, for whatever reason. I think we're overprotective really, and focused to make anyone around us a little safer. That includes tabs, but not limits only to women. Even calm russian guy can put up a fight for a girl or a friend. When we see something off we just lose our shit and any common sense, for the better or worse. 4) We expect a girl to dress up. I dont feel like that one is true. Well, it is important to be beautiful, but it is unnecessary to dress up like on a dance or a party. A casual outfit that looks good on you is good enough. 5) Drinking. Depends. Some just hate it, cause it makes you even less reasonable, some drinking just beacause "why not?" But if a guy is drinking, make sure you have enough of booze to make him drunk, and make someone will carry him away when he does. 7) Way to heart and traditions. True. We really love to eat. And eat good. Especially food made for us by our loved ones. And traditionalism is kinda true. Its really just odd for us if a girl cant make a borshch (thats a soup). Though last years made that just kinda true. A lot of russian girls now dont know how to hold a frying pan or for what it is used, so we are a decent cooks on our own, and can help or even cook ourselves. You can taste our babushkas most delicious pirozhkis now ;) Thats it from my perspective.
". Its really just odd for us if a girl cant make a borshch (thats a soup). " That feeling when you actually CAN cook a borsch (and think you're good at it), but your boyfriend think you can't - just because it's not the way his mommy cooks it... ( Luckily he's an ex now =) )
xnxGrinder , this video and this comment is confirming more and more that Russian guys are my type. I love cooking, old school romance and I don't mind the protectiveness at all. Sure there might be misunderstandings and so on but it sounds kinda worth it
Caught you! A supposed Russian using the word 'babushka.' And Americans have been made fun of for thinking it's a Russian word. There's a very popular youtuber that is Russian, and she said she doesn't know what babushka means. What does it mean?
My first love is Russian. He deeply shaped what I want in men. In five years he never allowed me to pay for anything when we were together. Whenever I needed help with something, he was right there to take care of it. He communicated directly (including his feelings), no guessing games. He was super handsome and worked out a lot. He always drove a nice car and would pick me up and get me home. We dated as teenagers for five years; never got over this breakup and never loved someone else. Until a year ago until I met an American who - surprise - is half Russian. 😅
Alkhazred1, I hate to burst your bubble but I live in southern US and that stereotype you have is long gone. Women here are just as feminist as any other American woman. The only difference is they are typically a little dumber and sloppier, and sure, more are familiar with firearms on average (not that it matters). Very few young women here actually want families or care about nature in my experience. That's why I'm looking abroad to women from other countries!
As an Eastern European woman, I will tell that the romantic part is very true - I barely remember when I would pay for myself even if I'm with a male friend, even though I suggest every time. They do present flowers for no reason from time to time (hm, but really, is it different in the West?). The overdressing point - yeah, generally you would notice that many girls actually try really too hard to look as good as possible even if there is no special occasion - but not in this rediculous way with wearing high hills at home tho. And an Eastern man would never ask you to dress slutty if he is into you. About food... meh it depends. None of my exes complained that I don't really like to cook. But yeah, it's not the most comfortable thing to admit here probably
I had an English girlfriend, and she was always surprised when I carried her bags, opened the door for her and paid her bill on our first date. I think it's true
This video is completely spot on. When she said I ordered a pizza I was like oh no. You have to cook for them and cook well. Everything pointed out was so true in my experience.

He'd record love songs for me, especially Elvis Presley - our song was "It's Now or Never."
He was very close with his family - Russians are much more family oriented than Americans.

Haha!

@OBSERVER Ты чмо, а не РУССКИЙ !
@OBSERVER Hello Troll Ukrainian, you already here people do brains))
Wishing you two all the happiness in the world.
I asked how it looked, and he said "I didn't see it, but it's purple, and mom said specifically that it wasn't sexy, because the focus should be on you" 😂😂
TL:DR go with your gut, be confident, and if all else fails, bring some flowers for the mom and do shots with the dad. (At least that's what I do).
That's why Indian and Russian relationship aspects are so close involvement of families and such etc.
Thank you for sharing this with us! I need to hear more positive things about Russians

Pay for girl, it's like duty for us
Since childhood, we have been taught the idea that a person is the protection and support of his family.

You can taste our babushkas most delicious pirozhkis now ;)
Thats it from my perspective.
