I absolutely love The Lord of the Rings! Maybe watching the movies after reading the books would help? I completely agree that the books can be a bit challenging to get through, but in my opinion, they are totally worth it. 😊 I also loved The Stranger! It’s such a unique and "quirky" book, but it’s incredibly rich. The first page is truly iconic. This year, I read East of Eden-my first Steinbeck book-and although I found it a bit slow at times, I ended up loving it! I’m definitely planning to read more of his works, and I might even try them in English next time.
I’ve seen the first LotR movie multiple times, so I didn’t watch it after reading it this time. I might watch it before I read The Two Towers! Thanks for that tip!! I enjoyed the first book; I think I gave it 4 stars, just because of all the slow parts.
I have the worst memory with books but somehow remember a ton of what happened with Of Mice and Men when I read it in high school, go figure 😂 I hope 2025 is kind to you, Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you! I never read it, but a teacher kinda told us the ending while discussing it with a student. It was completely off topic, so I was a little upset that he just gave away the ending when it wasn’t even a book we were reading!
Your cousin got The Stranger from her philosophy professor, not psychology. But it is very, very good. Good selection, baby! Nice and varied. My top three are any Kurt Vonnegut books. Skull emoji skull emoji skull emoji.

@@homestylereads I HATE when people do that. No matter how old a source of material is, it should never be spoiled and I'll always stand by that
