Glad you enjoyed it! Not sure I want to do it again, but who am I kidding ... I went to bed at 5:30am this morning, got up at 10am and as I type this at midnight, I'd happily start a 24 hour challenge right now!! LUNATIC ALERT!!
I came here after watching Zorpazorps video and I must say that I was shocked by the quality you have managed to achieve when your models where revealed. Amazingly done!
Thanks for popping past! I really would have liked to spend more time painting, but I just couldn't. They worked out well, but could be so much better. I don't actually have a painted set for the studio so now I get that chance, but this time I'll have the luxury of a little more time :)
Woooo!!!! Congratulations, this block of cityscape turned out really cool. These buildings are really perfect for minas tirith. Nice efficient strategy for getting them painted too, I enjoyed the bit where you just started spraying wash through your airbrush :-)
Love your channel mate, thanks for taking the time to comment. I made way more sense to just spray it, it also had a very different effect than using a brush which I really liked!
Hahaha, no need to rush through things! I have so many unpainted/unassembled kits laying around ... it's a hobby, take the time and enjoy it when it feels right to enjoy it!
Man dose this bring back MEMORIES!!!!!!! God I miss you Buddy!!!!! I use to LIVE for builds like this!!!! Now I'm working 50 hour work weeks but MAN That was SO MUCH FUN to do terrain builds over the weekend with you!!!! I'm in the process of setting up a 6 foot by 18 foot table in my basement that will have all of my hell terrain on it. hopefully this weekend if I'm lucky. Just subbed Take care Big Guy and GLAD to see you doing well!!!!!
For this one, I think it was black pigment (it's called tint, it's usually added to the large paint cans in little drops), thinned with water and isopropyl
This brilliant man pulling all nighters for us and the community and all we muster is 5.5k views? Come on lads share this around this guys channel is brilliant!!
Don't forget to check out the other videos!! Lachie's call to arms: ua-cam.com/video/zNkxk3GRUjY/v-deo.html Jacob raises the siege towers: ua-cam.com/video/DWzsiytRBsM/v-deo.html You can find all the kits I used in this video on our website. They are from the City of Elaria range in the Fantasy Terrain section: www.knightsofdice.com/product-category/mirrors-of-tullarn/
Christ on a bicycle those builds look sweet. This challenge reminds me of the 2-3 day terrain building blitzes back in the battlebunker days on the old channel. Cracking work as always Viv. Looking forward to seeing the bat rep, it's measuring up to be epic.
I just put together an Elarian storehouse and an Elarian Terrace. I'm beginning to understand the size of this project. You did an incredible job and I had the privilege of seeing all the buildings during a zorp shoot. Cannot applaud your work more mate really impressive stuff 🙏
Wow this is awesome. I have several of your buildings and made notes on your painting. I will look at your other videos to get ideas on the spraying stages. Cheers
Yep! It's time to get on with some of those ... they are much more complicated and more intimidating, but there are techniques to get past that ... time to get some of those done!!
Viv! Awesome video man. Was waiting on more coverage of the Elaria stuff! I want it soooo bad, but the shipping to europe is just so damn high. Love this collab
Thanks Elston. I love a good speed painting session or 24 hour challenge! I only sleep a few hours a night at the moment and regularly work at the studio for periods exceeding 24 hours so jumping balls in after a few hours sleep is my idea of fun!
Om gosh its Viv! Man... i watched your stuff years ago and then you disappeared... obviously doing this. Anyways! Thanks for all the pro terrain tips from back in the day... i learnt heaps online from guys like you. Cheers dude. Love the new mdf stuff! Il look u up online
Welcome back! I floated around on the old RubbishInRubbishOut channel but I was very irregular and soon feel out of 'the algorithm' so people stopped seeing my videos.
Is there a place to pick up the templates for these? I see where you sell the mdf buildings but I’d pay for a set of just templates like Zorbazorb has.
I have no body clock ... well, I probably have one that doesn't really operate like a clock. Kind of like an old wall mounted swatch watch I had as a kid that would be slow one day and fast the next!
You know, with the parts issue you were having, a lot of that can be solved by spreading a black plastic trashbag under the work area, it doesn't bounce as much and makes it very easy to find parts
Hahah, typical Viv ... let's do a massive collab with Lachie and not promote my products by adding a link to them on my website! Haha. This range is called City of Elaria, I will add links in the description.
Not at the moment, it is on the list along with a redesigned version of the city walls from the Na'Sain range that match the aesthetics of the Elaria range
I guess it's a good thing the event itself got canceled. I mean it's not good that it got canceled. Lots of people disappointed. Lots of crunch, for nothing. And obviously Covid. But if there's one silver lining, the event being canceled means it didn't matter that it took longer to complete this part of the project. Look forward to seeing the whole thing in action, whenever it ends up happening. Good work, man. You did all you could under the circumstances.
Indeed! As I said in my latest video, you never really waste time ... if you think you've wasted time, you've simply spent time learning something else!
it's a great project and a really enjoyable one! don't get this as a personal attack, but as a comunity we should stop doing 24 h challenges or rush progects, it's a toxic concept for the comunity, it's what is happening in the work ethics too, everything must be rushed, and as a hobby we should not promote this attitude, it's ok to speedpaint and organize projects to be as efficient as u can, but pls sleep, take rests, use a week if necessary but don't teach new hobbyist to rush projects
DUUUUDE this is an awesome video man, you've nailed it and I loved watching your journey!
Glad you enjoyed it! Not sure I want to do it again, but who am I kidding ... I went to bed at 5:30am this morning, got up at 10am and as I type this at midnight, I'd happily start a 24 hour challenge right now!! LUNATIC ALERT!!
@@KnightsOfDice HAHAHAHA indeed! Time to exploit your lunacy for further collabs!
These kits are beautiful! I will have to pick some up when my space is fully set up. I also like measuring time in LOTR runtimes
Thanks mate. Really enjoy watching your builds, super inspirational! Thanks for popping in and taking some time to comment, much appreciated
haha it's a legit metric of time
I came here after watching Zorpazorps video and I must say that I was shocked by the quality you have managed to achieve when your models where revealed. Amazingly done!

On ya goobs
You're a freakin champion, Viv. This is just incredible.
I'm a freakin idiot you mean. Starting that on 2 hours sleep was crazy ... but I loved it!!
I have to give him props for such a large assembly by himself with assembly, paint, and dry brush. To you my good man for a job well done.
That's a great tabletopful of terrain. Really impressive work.
Can't wait to travel up to Queensland next year and get involved in the battle and see them in action!
Hahahahha, Lachie calling in the big guns!
It was a great project! Keen and not keen to do another one, hehe.
yeah boyyyyyyyyyyy
You're kidding me. That was a marathon of epic proportions. Top job - makes me ashamed of how long my kits have sat on the workbench!
Ditto 8(
Hahaha, no need to rush through things! I have so many unpainted/unassembled kits laying around ... it's a hobby, take the time and enjoy it when it feels right to enjoy it!
@@KnightsOfDice yeah, good point. 😉 But there is a point where I need to focus and get projects done!

And those kits are gorgeous.
This is crazy! And exactly what I want to do at the club! Great work, looks so good!

Awesome to see you team up with Zorpazorp!!! These vids are inspiring me to make more terrain

I noticed you were watching The last Kingdom there for a time. That is a good show in my opinion.
It's a great show, I love it! Can't wait for Season 5!
