If I was going to add to this board what should I add next? Cair Andros? Harlond? Ithilien? Jump start your 2023 goals now with this exclusive offer- try Skillshare free for 7 days and then get 20% off your first year! skl.sh/zorpazorp720
Maybe the court yard of the white tree, a beacon of Gondor, something like that
A door for minas Tirith :D
The forbidden pool in Ithilien?
Cair Andros would be epic. Another reason to dump a ton of Resin!
Cair Andros is too far away to make sense being attached to Minas Tirith - of the ones you mentioned, I think Harlond makes the most sense
That jump over Osgiliath genuinely had me stressed out.
yea same if that foot hit it just right (CRASH) and burn :/ lol
And Twice!
never would i ever...just no. short it? destruction. make it but you slip and fall backwards? absolute ruin. just no way
I lost at least a metre of grey hair mate
Nimble bugger !
Just as a suggestion maybe add a small strip of gaming board between the grassy fields and sinking city that blends them together because just laying a board that's 100% brick city next to a 100% mud-grass open field does not transition well, so having a small transitioning board would look better way better and you don't really need any more buildings just something to transition from river city to open fields. I think out of the entire piece it looks wierd but I can see you just want to include every scene from that battle and shorten the distance between the three main locations which makes it look slightly janky but still cool. I think this would be a great event/diorama board already especially for a gaming club with a big room to put it in.
*However if you want more work and larger board maybe putting in a larger city tile that transitions into another field past the destroyed second wall. Idk how far your willing to go but that why I put the easier method frist.
I would also love to see the road that runs through the Pelennor start from the gates of Minas Tirith and enter Osigliath!
@@luciogibilisco3047 and have GROND
Definelty the full transition board is the only option here
… also noted that the road at the pelenor fields is not ending at the gate - clearly needs another couple of boards to connect properly
@@Triforcefff i noticed the same thing. either there needs to be some sort of gate in the wall.. or perhaps just some sort of building in the Pellenor area that the road led to. perhaps a sort of detached outwork fortification? somewhere that the city's guards could be stationed in peacetime to help patrol the fields and townlands of the pellenor? or perhaps just a small cluster of ruined buildings that was part of a ranch or farm prior to the siege?
You could give Aulë a run for his money. This is nuts. It's just incredible seeing it all laid out together. Cannnot wait for the game!
i really want so see a 72 hour long battle on this map!
yeah now it only needs the biggest army
Would it be possible without walking on the tiles? It seems too big to play on without stepping through it lol
you mean 72h movementphase right? there is no way you could play a game on these board with less then 10 people per faction to move all the models
You need very very many models for this battle
@@danielhaxton2884 I´ve been thinking of a structure like they used for mega domino events, where people are placing dominos in filled up areas from above, laying on bridges.
Yup, you nailed it man. Seeing all together like that is bonkers.
Cheers dude
Really cool stuff. Be great to get some painted backgrounds for it too, set it up like the photography shots in old army books and old white dwarfs.
The contrast between gloomy ruined Osgiliath and white but tarnished Minas Tirith is amazing.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH yesssssssssssssss that's a gold idea Johnny! when it all goes up on display that would be sickkkkkk. I could even go out to the locations myself and build a huge digital composite of the right spots.
I think everyone in the hobby dreams of having something like this in a room, just a miniature little world in which you can set up your armies or even just townsfolk minis to live their daily lives. Incredible doesn't even begin to describe it
My heart sank when you jumped the board! Holy moly! It’s huge and looking absolutely incredible
Wow that's just incredible. Your enthusiasm for these builds is just so infectious as well. Best of luck with the move and can't wait for that battle report
Thank you so much!
Things the board needs: transition segment from Pelennor's Grass and Osgiliath's Brick (maybe a runied wall to address height difference?), and a Gatehouse and road segment to connect Pelennor's Road to Minas Tirith's wall.
This is why I love Miniature War gaming. Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to own a board for battle that size.
Congrats Zorp, this looks overwhelmingly impressive put together, hats off to all who contributed!
You are all legends, excellent work
you gunna need a giant table with opening trap doors to pop out of to move the minis around
This is completely mental. It's been an honor following this project so far.
Obviously one of the next projects needs to be set of boards to give the peleonor fields and the ruined city a better transition! Also I feel a nice community project would be to add more details to the city, which beside the buildings is quite empty right now. A community project were followers could send you way smaller pieces of terrain, like a stack of barrels, a small stall or some other details.
needs transition boards for both ends ofthe pellenor i think.. the osgiliath to Pellenor transition needs more space between the city and the rammas echor, while the pellenor to Minas Tirith needs at least a small strip to connect that road to something.
I really appreciate you put in details from the books that weren't in the movies but described in the books, like the wall between Pellenor fields and Osgilliath and the farms on the field too.
Rammas is great fu for gameplay too!
Herculean effort. Looks incredible and you can see how much passion has gone into this project. Well done to all involved.
It's truly a board to be proud of. Can't wait to see it all squared off and totally done!
OMG, that is one of the most amazing projects I have ever seen. Fantastic effort. I cannot believe you jumped over the Osgiliath section twice! Well done to you and all those who supported you.
This is so friggin sick. Been watching the process for the last 6 years so cool to see it finally come together. Just a thought but if you used magnets on the wall pieces of minas tirith it might make for a seamless transition and would add a lot to the board. And would be cool to eventually see some of the other side of the river. Jeep up the amazing work man. I hope new zealand is as easy a move as it can be.
What an amazing board altogether!! Well done for keeping up momentum on the project can't wait to see the battle reports - great work 👍
Cheers Davey
DUDE! At this point you should just open up a special service where people have you build big boards for wargaming and D&D! You'd kill it!
I love that view coming out from inside Minas Tirith. It feels like a whole complete city in itself, then you take a peek over the walls, and bam. The rest of Middle Earth is there too somehow. Amazing.
Can't wait to see the construction for whatever insane tools you're gonna need to play on and film this monster.
Looking all of it together is so beautiful.
The board is amazing. Seen all the videos from the building of The Pellenor fields board to this one. You have outdone yourself Lachie!! Can’t wait to see some great SBG battles played on this awesome piece of scenery!!
It's inspiring to see what can be achieved by consistently building terrain towards a set goal. And it's always fun when one has to jump over the terrain :D
Congratulations Lachy! What an incredible project. It looks amazing. I have no idea how one would go about trying to play an actual game on that monster, but I love it!
Hey Lachlan! You mentioned your flights to your new home in NZ are in mid-Jan, as it's fast approaching just wanted to say GOOD LUCK! I'm sure I can speak on behalf of all the viewers here in wishing you the best and hope it all goes swimmingly!
I'm always so happy to see how this awesome project is going :)
Keep it up man, beautiful work!
Recon a board reflecting the city of the Corsair’s and harbour, incorporating rules for travel linking the two boards. “Think we’re going to need a bigger room dad”
In before Zorp sees the new GW Gondor ruins kits (ruins, tower, and mansion).
Lachy: *rubs hands together and orders 200 sets*
Lol remembering the battle recap when there was only a little bit of a wall and an empty meadow. Amazing work!
This looks so amazing finally put together!
It's fantastic, no doubt. I would however suggest adding some unifying grass and flock around the perimeter of the boards while they're assembled to blend them together a bit more. Just a thought.
Saying this is impressive is a huge understatement. Well done, this looks amazing
Grond! Grond! Grond! Amazing man you just inspired me to build Mordor
If you want to expand this project (hey its Zorpazorp, of course you want to do that!) make a long small board with a transition between ruined city and field.
i think at this point its just easier if you buy a warehouse or something large like that to host tournaments in with all these pieces on display and actually set up.
That's the dream!
@@Zorpazorp truly the Mr. Beast of the hobby space.
I’d love to see a scale tutorial for building terrain! I’ve just started dipping my toes into terrain building for warhammer fantasy but getting the terrain to look a realistic size in comparison to the models is difficult
I think an easy way to do scale would to get like 3 models of the game your scaling to 1 small, 1 standard/generic, 1 large (maybe even 1 gigantic if the game has one) to put side by side.
Example using warhammer 40k = 1 SM/IG troop, 1 Space dwarf troop, and a demon prince. If you wat to scale to titanic units it has plenty of options as well.
Hey I was in a similar spot if you don't mind I might offer some advice from my flawed experience.
First things first scale. I use 3 models for scale, most of my terrain is 40k so I use a guardsman, a chaos marine and a monster esq unit like a dreadnought.
For fantasy I'd say an empire soldier, an Ork and something mounted like a chaos knight.
For keeping things at a reasonable height, you typically want a bit of headroom. I typically do the floors on a building as 2-3 inches.
For empire style buildings I'd say look up the Devs and dice channel as he does some great mordheim terrain.
Now material is always an issue. Foam board and xpss foam are both great. You can buy both online on Amazon.
A great channel for this is. Black magic craft.
Lollipop sticks and coffee stirrers are both cheap and fantastic for wood details.
You can get great easy texture on foam with crumpled aluminium foil.
The main thing is to have fun and experiments
Always remember to include the height of your minis' bases when deciding how tall to make walls and barricades 👍
The massive gate of Minas Tirith should be included ofcourse!
"Should I jump over the board?" asks a man who has never seen a fails video in his entire life, apparently
11:35 That's when your realize the humonguous size of that field. My Valar.
Every time I see a new video has dropped, its like christmas ! 😊🌲
Love that :D
Wow there was a shot there looking over the wall of Minas Tirith over the Pelennor and Rammas Echor, through the ruins of Osgiliath and out to the river that was jaw dropping. Obviously you need to continue that view past the crossroads in ithilien, over the pass of Cirith Unholy, across the plains of Gorgoroth and up to Mount Doom! Oh and it goes without saying you need to build Denethor's Diving board.
Amazing work Lachie, congratulations!
I couldn't agree more Foe Ham! Not to mention Cair Andros, Harlond, Harondor and the Morannon!
That’s huge!!! Amazing so many people came together to do this!
Nuts to see it all laid out after years
Keep every ring of walls of Minastirit on different boards so the players can walk between every wall of the city
It's weird to hear you using the primitive Imperial measurement but wow, what a 'table.' This reminds me of my bedroom floor as a kid covered in mine and my mate's 40K armies.
Man so glad this board is coming together! It looks way better than even I imagined! Only wish UA-cam notifications actually worked! Seriously can't wait for some epic battles on these insane boards!
Just edited ouor first game on the Osgi section, stay tuned mate!!!
It's beautiful! The bat rep will be insane. I'm happy for it to come out like a netflix limited series. Well done.
Thanks a ton!
You're one of the GOATs Zorpa
Really, really, REALLY impressive, man! Truly a work of art!
After all that time and effort put into building these boards. the fact you risk jumping over a part of it is crazy 😂
10:05 that ground looks just like my back garden (we have just cleared up after loads of building work)
Lucky me! I am a huge fan of arts and crafts and everything related to Tolkien´s Middle Earth, so youtube did well today by directing me to this ♥ My mind is blown! I haven´t watched your other content yet, but I am hoping there´s a big Middle Earth Museum somewhere out there with a humongous indoor space with stage lighting, Dolby Atmos speakers and excellent acoustics that´s been waiting for a project of this scale! Preferably right around your block, so you can work on it there with all your friends😃
If this isn´t a thing, I´d drive around and talk to farmers. That´s how we here in the Netherlands usually find an idle barn somewhere nearby to work on parade wagons and other overscaled projects like this and that.
You've got some great friends. Cherish them
TRAISE!!!
Yoooo what a trip I am so glad I recently found your Channel Zorpazorb, this is insane lads it looks incredible. Tolkien would be proud!
i had NO IDEA that static grass could actually be stood up with a static charge! I never considered what the name actually means! Haha
Does New Zealand understand just how BIG your Siege of Gondor gaming footprint is? It's only tiny islands after all! Beautiful build.
I had a phone call this morning from Jacinda who assures me that there should be just enough space.
The biggest of all boards. Everyones stuff looked great. MORE MT NEEDED.. also, that is the smoothest landing I have ever seen. 😂
Not bad aye haha, the old land-spin-talk manouvre
Lost for words. How on earth do you plan to transport it to New Zealand?! I cannot wait until the massive Battle report you plan to do. Keep up the amazing work my dude.
Apparently, Lachie got his visa to live in New Zealand because he has offered to expand the nation's territory; by at least 140 square feet. 😄
This is breathtaking - Cheers from Germany
This is awesome! So excited for the reveal. Is it the camera angle, or the buildings at Osgiliath look as tall as the walls of Minas Tirith? I'd say the walls should be taller.
an amazing assembly of model. Wow.
Absolutely freaking EPIC!!!!
Absolutely beautiful seeing it all come together, don’t know how you find the time to do all this while you’re still moving, mate!
This is so freaking amazing! Didn't realize how big it was before I saw this video.
Absolutely epic! It’s been a great ride and I look forward to more. So good to see it all together. It’s incredibly impressive to have such a big board that still is of such great detail quality.
However, I must say that two of the roofs in Minas Tirith - from the first colab - aren’t really up to par with the rest of the board. They have a patchy finish and are painted in a too sharp blue. They draw the eye unfortunately and detract from the overall impression of the board. A couple of washes to darken them down would do wonders.
But again, absolutely crazy impessive board! Love it!
That's F##!ng Amazing can't wait to see a game played on that massive board.
I think Minas Tirith needs a main gate to really make it a viable gameboard. also, maybe add the hill from which the riders of rohan can charge into battle?
After seeing it fully put together for the most part, my only thought in my head was "holy shit". My hat off to you sir.
This is how I always imagined a game of D&D was set up
really impressive, massive effort. can't wait to see the game. plz plz post it!
I've absolutely no idea how you could execute it but it would be amazing to see a 8h battle report featuring the entire board someday!
Awesome mate! What a thing of beauty! It is so good. Well done and got me back into painting and building ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Looking more amazing each video
What an absolute journey! Such a gorgeous piece! Cannot wait for the game!
I watched this now 3 times in 1 day and cannot get enough!
This is insane, what an incredible build, looks like it would be great fun to fight on!
I feel the temptation to challenge Zorp to a battle, and then turn up in a Godzilla Suit; totally crushing it 😄
@@euansmith3699 dude that would be awful 😔
maybe try to insert some actually walkable part to actually play on this platform, blended in the pieces: a road, a hill , a pond...
the transition between pieces is obvious to add, and maybe the door of miras thirit would be a great addition
Truly good is the great collaboration of our time
That's insane. I love it. You're gonna need a mission impossible kinda harness and rig to play on that :D
Doh!! I almost got my first ever first lol Sat down to youtube and this popped right up. Perfect timing.Right now I'm gonna watch it lol
Hahahahahahaha enjoy dude ;)
13:30 Christmas Osgiliath!
If anyone has ever seen the ‘Nigella talks dirty’ or ‘Gordon Ramsey talks dirty’ videos, one needs to be made for the Zorps. xD
Insane! That is wicked and I am beyond stoked to see the games play out. Well done!
Can't believe they announce the new kits hours after I see this posted, can't beat the satisfaction of home made tho dude !!
Wow this is STUNNING
That's ment... quite an achievement Lachlan ! I noticed you mentioning your gaming board being the biggest of UA-cam to date not the biggest in the world. That got me thinking you wanting to keep it factual and not boast to have the biggerest of the whole planet (obviously not a texan here). Do you know of existing bigger wargaming boards and would you share a tour of such locations with your channel ? That would be awesome ! And what kind of solutions are there to insure playability of such large boards ? Trap door at the center of the board ? Removable catwalk to move the units each turn ? The people want to know !
Absolutely amazing man. I can only hope to build something close to this.
This is just insane. Love it.
Absolutely massive and amazing 👏 awesome effort and videos enjoy watching them 😀
Thank you so much 😀
Man this board is awesome full credit to to you and everyone involved I would love to play on it even that’s going to be hard with the size of it
Just insane. Amazing, amazing work!
Did you really call just call it the brothel library where Gandalf found his ring?! 😂😂😂 Awesome to see it all laid out Lachie, soooooo good!!! It even had some disco lights 😂
Goes on about how the boards are 20-40kgs each, and he's doing it on his own; call him crazy. Fails to mention the guns on the guy... xD
Loving this build coming together!
Yeah Ryan is absolutely ripped haha
Next they'll the Anduin, then Ithilien, then Ephel Duath, then Minas Morgul...
How many models do you think will be used in the siege? I've always loved these crazy large scale events. I have over 1,000 man Gondorian army.
