For sale a very rare and highly sought after Dean MKH ML Rising Sun Matt Heafy Signature made in Korea in 2008.
These guitars were only produced for short period of time and are becoming harder and harder to find, and almost never in condition this clean.
This is the first signature guitar for Matt Heafy of Trivium. Very rare and a must have for fans and collectors.
The guitar features a Mahogany body with plain Maple Top, Mahogany neck neck, a 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard on a 24-3/4'' Scale with a Trivium Logo Inlay at the 12th fret, Grover tuners, a Floyd Rose bridge, along with a pair of Dean USA humbuckers, Matt Heafy 'MKH86' in the bridge and 'Nostalgia' in the neck position, wired to a master volume and 3-way toggle switch.
The guitar in excellent condition. It has only a tiny ding on a tip of the headstock and some discoloration on back of the neck, hardly visible, please see the pictures and video.
The neck is straight and frets are in excellent condition with minimal fret wear if any. It's very easy to play and suits this guitar perfectly. Complete with a Floyd Rose bridge and locking nut, this guitar is the perfect metal machine in terms of look, feel, and sound.
The guitar is in full working order. Plays really nice and sounds great with low action. The humbuckers sound thick and full, with a solid low end, a punchy midrange and crisp, aggressive highs.
Comes with its original Dean ML hardcase. The guitar was just set up with set of Rotosound 9-46 strings.
Comes with original Dean ML hardcase and will be carefully packed to ensure safe shipping.
I am happy to answer any questions and will consider reasonable offers.
Please review all photos and the video carefully as they are an integral part of the item description. I can provide additional photos on request.
Please note shipping prices outside the UK are estimated, if you are interested in how much it would cost to ship to you please don't hesitate to send me a message.
If you want the guitar fully insured, then I will need to add that on to the postage cost as the insurance value will obviously depend on the final sale price.
    Please check my other listings.

Having taken the UK and US thrash metal scene by storm Trivium have made a name for themselves as one of today's leading bands in this Genre. Their straight up old school approach to Heavy Metal has earnt them a legion of fans, with fast paced solos and heavy riffs inspiring a new generation of budding guitar slayers.
In collaboration with Dean Guitars both guitar players Corey Beaulieu and Matt Heafy have designed their own custom signature models, allowing each of us to get closer to the look and more importantly the tone of these two great players.
Here we have the Matt Heafy signature model, Matt opted for the now flagship metal guitar design the Dean ML for his signature model, emblazoned with the Japanese rising sun design and Trivium logo on the headstock. Similarly to the Corey Beaulieu model Matt's features pickups designed by Dean guitars technicians in conjunction with Matt, choosing to keep things as simple as possible the controls featured on this guitar are just one 3 way selector switch and one volume control, Matt himself has said that he was not the sort of player to fiddle with tone controls so creating a pickup that just delivers the tone he wants made more sense.
This guitar also features the Floyd rose locking Tremolo system, a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard and grover tuners.
DEAN MATT HEAFY ML RISING SUN FEATURES:
    Mahogany Body
    Plain Maple Top
    24-3/4'' Scale
    Mahogany Neck
    Rosewood Fingerboard
    Trivium Logo Inlay/ Side-Marked Frets
    Grover Tuners
    Black Hardware
    Floyd Rose Bridge
USA Dean Matt Heafy 'MKH86' Bridge Pickup
    USA 'Nostalgia' Neck Pickup

Funny thing how this was overpriced for its time (an import guitar with Dean pickups and a Licensed Floyd Rose for $1689, should've been less than $700) and the price has climbed up even further because it was made only for one or two years.
Second, Matt Heafy’s Rising Sun had its headstock broken falling while resting on an amp in concert. Also Matt made no money during those days, so he sold off all his Dean guitars as soon as his Dean sponsorship ended and he owns none even now (didn’t even buy back any models even though he’s clearly much better off nowadays). Make of that what you will!
Third, the ML Rising Sun is pretty much like the Confederate/Dixie Rebel Deans with regards to the Koreans and Japanese (funny as this guitar was made in Korea) but it’s a cancelled emblem of imperialistic Japan now. But this guitar is still listed on sale lol because the West doesn’t care as much about Asia’s history.
Some Trivium diehard will buy this overpriced thing though!

As far as I know, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is still using that ensign, the Rising Sun flag.
Used MKH Dean guitars have been sold for prices ranging from 600 to 2000+ €, with the majority leaning towards the higher end nowadays.
There have been reported issues between Trivium and Dean, likely related to the quality and operations of the company. Nevertheless, I'd love to own this guitar :)

@@wucks3666 Even I’d like to, but from what I’ve learn through import Washburn Dimes, they’re just simply overpriced in the US/Canada/UK due to demand and a lot of people with a lot of money and little sense. You’re better off visiting some guitar shops when you’re in Indonesia/Korea/Japan/Brazil etc., you can often find a rare guitar for half the going price on Reverb or less.
