- Never consume or use any plant you are unsure of. Always be 100% certain of every species before you consume. If you are not sure, don't eat it.
Smilax, otherwise known as Greenbrier is a spring wild edible and, it also contains protein! Which is somewhat rare for plants.
Good stuff, thanks for sharing Cody!
Thank you Very much from North West England UK 👍❤
Thank you. Your videos are solid.
Hey Cody, appreciate all your efforts - I'm experiencing the outdoors through your vids (missing my home state of Oregon) - stuck in lockdown in Singapore. I've learned a lot from you in the last three weeks - thanks for all your work, experience and positive energy!
Great plant to know thanks son
I like your other video about the wild edibles. Looking like a young buck no facial hair.
thank you for your videos :)
Awesome 👍
.....thank dude ! I have one that grows in my front planter area . I'd cut it down over and over , because I thought it was something my southern brothers told me about . ...Kudzu , and I thought it was invasive plant up here in Cass County MICHIGAN ! Wolverine State ! I love to forage local vegetation , and never new what that plant was . It covered my wrought iron porch though and it was nice looking ! I will try it soon as it's warm enough here for it to start growing ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience ! Peace !
The forest offers all sorts of delight's to eat
cool.
Cody, may I ask what general area you are at? I’m finding several different types of Smilex.
They will ignite like gasoline when put on a fire, even green. I expect they would make strong cordage as well, If you take time to cut thorns off and split them.
Can you eat just the greener tips off of more mature Vines later in the summer?
Never mind I can probably find these in the Greenbelts my way.
Did I see you at In N Out the other day?
Nice, does it grow I newengland area. I'm in Massachusetts
None of these plants are in my area.
i thought glossy plants were bad to eat
DOOD!
