beautiful account of a photographic journey. a same trip made with the ex in 2019, found the footage and used this video/music as background to revisit the moment and the photos taken with xpro2 and xe3 four years ago.
Excellent video! I really enjoyed watching this. Your composition in each photo is superb. I’m currently shooting an X-T5 alongside my Canon R6 MkII, and while I think the Canon is the best camera I’ve ever owned, the X-T5 might be the most fun. I absolutely love it and find myself picking it up more than any camera I have. It’s incredibly capable and makes me want to take it out to shoot. Thanks for these inspirational videos, and keep up the excellent work!
I absolutely LOVE my XT5. I am glad you are showing some videos with it and what you are getting out of it. I don't understand why any one would wait for an 100 series camera when the XT-5 is so awesome. Plus that 33. What a lens. LOL
Man, this is so good!!! Love your creativity. I live on the Monterey Peninsula and recently picked up an XT5 (first real camera), and go down to the Big Sur area often and this video REALLY makes me excited to get out and shoot more. Thanks for sharing your trip!!
Great video. Beautiful shots. Nice vibe. Thanks for sharing this with us. Love the idea of toting along a film camera. I shot a lot of film back in the day and have a Nikon FE2 that has been packed away and may just see again the light of day.
I watch a ton of photography channels, and I never comment because I'm lazy, but the collection of photos from your trip to California are crazy good. Bravo
Nice video Mitch. The vibe is on point. Really enjoying your travel videos. Definitely an inspiration also for my Patagonia travel video that I am pending to edit. Cheers!
It’s weird to say, but I feel the X100 series has killed a lot of the X-T series hype. I love my X-T5, it’s a nice pocket sized powerhouse with a few minor quirks. Love the videos Mitch, keep it up 👏
The XT5 is what makes me switch to Sony. Didn’t need a big push TBH. Just needed a change and also the bigger resolution would have needed some lens changes so…. Not excluding coming back to Fuji down the line though. Who knows ?!!
I assessed both as a supplementary travel and vacation option to my EOSM and Canon DSLR set ups (EOS1 and 5D mk 3). If I was starting a new system I’d choose the XT5 and 16-80 then a few primes. Definitely the 16mm you favoured for most shots. Apart from the over large and expensive G lenses, Fuji makes better kit and mid level glass than Sony. Then, apart from the very expensive top pro models all the Sony kit feels cheap in hand compared to XT5. I was handling a $3000 Sony yesterday (not nice at all and edges designed to crack), then an XT5 - very nice, then an XH2 - both excellent ergonomics. I then came home and picked up my EOS1 from 1990 - just feels brilliant in your hands and the 5D follows on from that design ethic. However, the latter is soooo heavy, even without its battery grip. Sick the 24 to 105 f4 L on it and it’s very well balanced but much heavier than the XT5, 16-80mm equivalent. I’m very fortunate that all my 5D set up was all funded by a client to shoot some interviews about 8 yrs ago. Superb on a tripod and pro mics. It was U.K. £4000 and they told me to keep it all as they had no use for it! Those were the days…and I still made another £4K on the contract. Not bad for 4 days work back then… Canon L is still out there as the choice of most pros since the late 1980s for a reason but boy are their top lenses expensive now. After considering the XT5 option for a forthcoming tour of China, I went for the X100VI for its discrete profile (black model) and speed of use and leaf shutter flash set up for city work. As a westerner a larger pro looking kit would stand out too much. Horses for courses, as they say. By the way a few visitors to France recently have had pro photo gear impounded by customs when entering the country if they don’t get some daft licence to shoot……ridiculous but been in the U.K. news.
Looks like you had a great trip. Quick question.... were the photos you took with the XT5 using one of the Fujifilm simulations or were these edited raw photos from a software? Great photos. Thanks!
I shoot Sony ZVE1 with the PPLUT profile (the wide dr rec709 lut) baked into the footage. I don’t do anything with the footage in post beyond stabilising it in catalyst browse.
mitchhhh so good man. can’t believe some of the stuff you got. was a blast, can’t wait for the next hangout!! 🫡
Forts ?
@@CARLO.OBRIEN down lets go today hahah
The way the Xt5 performs is so nice and unique, I love it too
These are awesome. Those shots from the 33mm and 16mm on the XT5 are crazy (opens tab on KEH searching for those exact lenses)
Your style of photography and videos are so smooth I enjoy viewing every one of them.

Your art makes me happy Mitch

@@gilcarag274which Sony? And what are the things you didn't like on the XT5?
The XT-5 Is exactly one big reason why I'm very happy to not have switched to Sony.

Can you make a video on your video setup, how you record, color grading etc. photos are sick but the video quality is it!
