I don’t know if you saw but on one of ikwenmusic’s videos i bet him i could make an entire music editor within Desmos. I’m about 30-40% of the way done so far. So, just fyi in case you wanted to see the finished thing.
ironically im doing the exact same thing, atm im trying to implement scrolling the graph without moving the viewport, atm its still missing proper rest handling (just plays 1hz) and maybe actually plotting notes in the editor
This... this is peak math and music. Sounds like something to come out of some old game ending, cheap yet beautiful. Something that changes your outlook on life. PEAK
wait until people figure out snares, imo i think all of this is TECHICALLY possible! considering that- well- chiptune was build off the base of, quite literally noise, sine waves and squares.
how the hell did we get music making calculators before gta 6. what's next? were gonna be able to program games with desmos? like were able to play games on the ti-84?
Get thee onto a Veritasium video with this shit! This seems like the kind of thing that Derek would use when explaining the background of some controversial theorem in physics.
Do you mind if I make a remix of this tune extending it for educational use? I can't get the idea of using it in an educational video out of my head after thinking about how appropriate it would be on Veritasium.
When you want to be a musician but your parents want you to be a mathematician:

Dang, I look forward to seeing that!

you can’t be an ally to both sides. pick one. (me)
i'm really interested in that
I need to see this when it's done
this is so awesome, this would be so cool in tandem with a daw and sampling, it feels kinda similar to modular synthesis in a way.
MATHS based synthesis

Someone sample this right now
woag
I'll make a remix out of this
nvm I can't match the tempo bcs it keeps getting off tempo when I layered the sound with my drums
@@Dani_Rigel please, you can do it in desmos
Bet they will make a song out of this

Noise functions + a sine
Distortion is also easy
fm soundchips were also able to produce noise, so drums can definitely be made on desmos.
A theramin melody would pair with this like steak and red wine. Holy shit that was sick
oh my god.
this thing... beautiful. i love that math can become songs now.
please i want the finished version if you have your time berrynote. :0
just like boards of canada said
@@limitless_valley ?
@@haniif190 boards of canada has a song called "music is math"
@@limitless_valley ohh
impressive
do you have a counter for this
ok but ngl how is this a beat

someone did pong
@mkxpro55 oh, well about that.
i made a "game" with 6 components that barely worked
and recreated tictactoe
technically all DAWs are music making calculators
someone made a flight sim in desmos, and there's a not terrible doom-like 3d shooter
Get thee onto a Veritasium video with this shit! This seems like the kind of thing that Derek would use when explaining the background of some controversial theorem in physics.
Feels like the type of music that would paly when the villain reveals to be the main hero's best friend when their about to die.
That sub is heavenly. 🥺😭
Someone needs to show this to the Desmos team cause this would win first prize at their yearly competition for sure!
I was so hoping for the heaviest, most echoey bass and snare to start playing
That reverse effect is dope...
whys this actually so beautiful
the desmos grind is real
I call dibs on sampling this
someone already did it
@@Hurricane_0313who?
hmm, i might as well try

Indie Game OST #36 - Waterfall of Chance
This reminds me one of those types of programs where you can automatically make melodies using algorithms/equations
what are these programs i gotta know
@goober7601 I remember ByteBeat
@@goober7601 Bytebeat is one of them
the things that people do with desmos never fail to impress me
OH MY GOD ALL OF WHAT IS MAKE IS SO. BEAUTIFYLLLLL IM CRYINGGGG
sounds like something flying lotus would sample if I'll be honest.
This is amazing. Everything is an instrument…
This has a very nostalgic sound to it
it sounds like that one celeste chapter
sounds even more like the bgm for the modded map Awake from breeze contest
he hasn't figured out the ticker yet...
I have, I just haven't used it in any of my videos :[[[[

Can't wait
YOOOOO THIS IS SOME SICK MICROTONALITY
UHH this is insane?????
good stuff as always
Holy shit holy shit I’m getting so much inspiration right now
ITS EVOLVING
I didnt know you could make the "reverse" effect in desmos lol
don't mind if I do. yoink thank you for your service I will now sample tf out of this
Well all sounds can be reduced to induvidual frequencies which are sine waves so no surprise. Theoretically all music could be created this way
i’m sampling this
the music of math
0:02 i think this could be a bad ending sound
Is it me or does it feel familiar to a certain feeling a certain memory or certainly song
And yet i want to make a small song out of this
this is amazing ⭐
reminds me of Beach House - Black Car
Sounds like something Lena Raine would make
This is so cool
This gotta be Backrooms music, you know?
To me it's more of liminal spaces
it let me think about Celeste for some reason
reminds me a lot of lena raines soundtrack for ESC
So now Desmos is a DAW?
yup :]
ted ed secondary intro ahh
OH MY GOD???????
woa
Holy crap

How do you get those reverse notes? Does desmos have a built in ADSR envelope?
Using the the volume, you can modulate it to make the reverse sound :]
reminds me of portal 2
sample time
You chill if I sample this?
This is just asking to go on a beat 🙃
clickbait
“Making beats in desmos”
*Shows a video of a beat in desmos*
Bro I don’t see the clickbait?
@ thumbnail click bait
@AlohaXChicken27 I think he meant that the thumbnail didn't match the actual graph
This is so cool
