4:40 reason why it freaks out is that the closer you get to 0^-1, and n^-1 is 1/n... it's the same as if you were approaching 1/0, which causes the result to be a larger and larger number, and desmos can only process so many numbers at a time, and when that processing capability is overwhelmed, it lags really badly.
Here's some stuff i found when tweaking the graphs shown in the videos. Level 1: These are just little augments. 0:26 If you divide all of the equation except for "y=" by a, the sine wave doesn't become taller and skinnier. 2:20 Make the equation b=ax alongside the other stuff to create 2 balls. Sliding "a" makes them bigger. 3:01 Swap the 5 with pi and try increasing "a" by an increment of 4. Start with 2.(so go 2,6,10,14,18,22) Level 2: These are either moderately changed or just a little crazy. 2:52 Swap the "a,theta" part with "10, theta^a", and watch as the portal slowly collapses into a singularity. 2:31 Turn "(x²+by²)" into "(x³+1y³)".. and it sort of melts. 2:07 Turn "a" into xy² and it distorts. Level 3: These are heavily changed or even transformed completely.. or just insane. 3:36 Turn sin(a) into sin(10)ª and watch as everything lags and the lines get reduced to mere dots. 3:41 Same as 3:01 and still has those pretty patterns if you do 2,6,10,etc. The reason that this is on level 3 is because of a=theta. 3:51 Same as 3:41 but the 2,6,10 thing doesn't work. A=theta is way crazier now. Level 4: Will lag, and might cause the calculator to divide by zero in the middle of the equation. 4:00 Change a^-1 to aª. Now you can just set "a" to ten to lobotomize the calculator. 10¹⁰ is 10 trillion..
Cool graphs, can you credit the original Black MIDI for the song tho? It's one I've seen and as a former blacker I know it takes so much hard work to make one of those songs.
That was a crazy lag at a=0 for the eyeball flower but for gee its windy today to me it looked like the sine wave was going at me let me know if you agree

How do you make a black midi or whatever?
its been a year, who made it?
R= mod(a,theta/a) spiral
A range: (0 to 50)
bro set the music to black midi
the end looks like your just lagging in ur black midi
you should do the spinny flower one between -40 and 40 there is more shapes it makes
Sheet music boss in the hall of the mountain king
I remember I had a graph that looked like a portal but I lost it :(
This is my favourite music!
1:18 red missing texture
In Eyeball flower, a = 0 causes lag because 0^-1 = NaN or ∞

Nice
How has this not gone viral tho
exactly
no fine detail that has not been fully resolved?
there are
bro the only cool animation i know how to do in desmos is to use the (a, b) things to make the dot move places 💀
fun fact: if you do (sin a, cos a) and add a slider for a, you can make a dot go in a circle
Don't tell them about:
r\ =j\cos\left(a\sin\left(\theta
ight)\ b\theta\ \ln\left(abc\theta^{\sqrt{abc}j}
ight)^{\sin\left(\cos\left(bc\theta
ight)
ight)\cos\left(\sin\left(ac\theta
ight)
ight)}
ight)

Here’s a level 3: sin(x!)gcd(x,x^2)=cos(y)*a
sin(x!)gcd(x,x²)=cos(y)•a 😊
