Really fun video, Gray! I have that same guitar. You made it look so cool. Also enjoyed all your music, the heavy riffs with eerie notes floating above. You are a true metal artisan.
Thanks so much Trevor! They really are great guitars if you give them a little tlc. 🎸 glad you dug the music too. It’s on Spotify, Apple music and all the other streaming sites. 🎸🤘🙌
@@MrGrayhenry What are some of your influences in modern metal that you draw inspiration from? Like Humanity’s Last Breath maybe? ? I’m trying to learn more about those bands with the crunchy, dry, jarring, low riffs with spooky atmospheric feedback notes drifting on top. What a cool sound!
I haven’t really listened to them, but I’m going to check them out now. As far as those styles of influences bands, like periphery, Meshuggah, The Human Abstract, after the burial, Vildhjarat, Berried alive, tesseract. There are more I just can’t think of them all right now.
I’ve had my black RG8 for about 6 years now. This was a really fun mod project to watch. I love the color choice and all the hardware upgrades really seem to complement it. Great job!
Thanks so much bro they really are great guitars!! I’m so glad you enjoyed watching it. It was a task trying to record everything and getting these kind of comments feels like it paid off.🤘🎸🤘
Awesome work Gray, I love the colors and the effect you have given it, you have definitely taken this RG to another level, congratulations for an incredible job dude!!!!!! 👏👏👏 👍# 7
Just came across your channel and seen this video here. Iv been wanting to do a swirl paint job but I've only seen the ones where you set your paint up floating on top of water and slowly dip the guitar into the paint but I'm not to kean on trying that. Can you break down your process a little bit, i am very interested in doing it the way you had, seems more controlled. Did you thin the paint? And what type of paints were use? If you are open to giving me the process I'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks bro! Love your work.
Thanks man. My wife said the same thing that a darker fretboard would really set it off. Do you have any suggestion on what brand dye to use. I may try to darken the fretboard. Next time I change the strings. 👍🙌
@@MrGrayhenry I used leather dye on mine off of Amazon. Brand is Angelus. When using it remember that less is more. Sand with steel wool. Let the dye sit overnight and then next day wipe down with paper towel and lemon oil until paper towel has no more stain on it. If it’s not dark enough then do another round. Oh and don’t forget to tape off anything that you don’t want stained. The inlays don’t need to be taped, at most, they will get slightly darker but they don’t turn black. Good luck! Looking forward to the update.
Such a great result. Very well done.... fantastic music btw. Just a quick question; when doing this sort of painting do you sand it to level things out and if not, does it feel smooth and leveled out after all that paint's gone on?.... cheers from Australia.
Thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed it! No, I did not sand because the floetrol I used was old and ended up having some clumps and I was worried about stripping the finish and not being able to match it. But after all the clearcoating it is smooth in most areas. Next time I will not make the same mistake and will be doing the sanding and buffing.
No, I did not because the paint I used ended up being clumpy in some areas and was scared I would ruin the finish. Next time I do one, I’m going to use all new paints to try to avoid this and will sand before clearcoating. Thanks man I think it turned out great for my first time as well.
I believe you also came up with a new style of metal cosmic medal. Because that's what it sounds like in the background. It sounds like cosmic metal and the guitar. Looks like a cosmic b***** guitar. I'm really Stone right now. I have no clue what I'm saying, but I hope you get what I'm saying. Later

@@MrGrayhenry I did put Seymour Duncan Sentient and Nazgûl pickups in it. I’ll be listening to your sweet metal jams. Cheers
Those are nice pickups I have a set of the in my Ibanez rg7620. Thanks bro!! Cheers 🎸🎸

When you discover your IG buddy on UA-cam :D Great job Henry, looks so sick with the paintjob your wife did!
Hey bro, thanks so much!! She sure did, I’m trying to get her to do more!!🙌
Love it, new paint is better that 99% of Ibanez stock ! Great job !
Thanks man, I think so too!🤘🤘
Great video! The music in it is fantastic, as well...
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed the music also. You can stream a lot of it on Spotify ,iTunes, and most of the other streaming services.🤘🎸🤘

Thanks alot bro!! It was a lot of work. I think it turned out good as well! 🤘🎸
Hey! It's Ben Ellers hardcore brother!
Haha 😂 Ben’s the man!!🙌🎸
Wow it looks incredible, imagine if you could make a paint that continuously swirls like when the paint first goes on.
Thanks, man that would be really cool!!🤘🤘
Man, imagine that finish with gold hardware
That would look really cool!! 🎸🎸🎸
Wow...that looks awesome.!!!
Thanks man!!🙌🙌🙌

Body looks sick but I think an ebonized fretboard would have put the cherry on the cake. Try staining it with black leather dye.

Thanks for all the info! That doesn’t sound to hard to do.🙌🎸🙌
Did you try it?
I think the waterslide decal would have been an easier install than the vinyl ibanez decal. You can order them in some sick color ways as well....
Cool man, I’ll have to try that next time. Thanks for watching 🤘🎸

Hi, what paint did you apply?
Hello, hope you enjoyed the video. I used different brands of acrylic paint mixed with floetrol. Thanks for watching.
