I love the use of melody and harmony in your writing, and I love that you're breaking down the riffs here in addition to the solo. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
Hey Heri! Big fan. Saw you live, was impressed. Thanks for showing this song, it's a personal favorite. I managed to pull it through, although I had to learn the second guitar part for want of a seventh string (I play Godin, xtSA, good guitars, but 6 strings and only 22 frets, that is until I can afford a seven strings guitar)... I could pull the solo through, I simply had to change the octave at a place! 'Tis good music, exhilarating and fun to play! Keep up the good work. :)
Heri, this is fantastic! Your instruction of both guitar parts is helpful and your playing of your solo half speed is perfect as I try to learn it. The only problem is that I don't have a 30-fret guitar like you, so I've got to figure out a few things. Thanks again this is great!!! :)
Nice! I'd love to see a video where you do a demonstration just like this video, but with the song Hold The Heathen Hammer High, as that is without a doubt my favourite Týr song. By The Light Of Te Northern Star is an awesome album in it's whole, if I've gotta be honest. I love that album! Your Mjölnir necklace is cool. I've got one of my own too, but it's a different design. Greetings from the Netherlands :)
Hey Heri. Could you maybe do a video like this for Valkyrjan?? That song is amazing, just like the trad.version of it :P. But I would really like to get a push in the right direction about how to play it :).
Katia Lexi Scandalous wasn't "capisce italiano" ? why do you ask me in an argotic language if I speak italian because manga is used by faeroese even at dinner but through rotacism g to c in my language is about food ...does italian language have a verb the same for food?!
Nihil Islands Mangia is Italian for eat, eating, etc. I haven't studied Faeroese, only Danish, and of course Italian. Though I would love to visit the Scandinavian lands of my grandparents parents :) Eating is best in any language :)
Heri Joensen Hahaha for sure. At my restaurant the chefs name is Henri... Stupid phone replaced it and I didn't notice. Heri is nowhere near a Frenchman's name!
I make the vibration by hitting the tremolo bar. This works a bit better with a FloydRose system than it does with the Schaller system on my Bjarnastein guitar.
Hei Heri, just wondered: Your exelent song by the light of the northern star? Is it inspired from the norwegian trad. Om kvelden or vice versa? Love your songs. You should come to norge!!! Jævla bra saker!
It's actually awesome and the only time I've seen a huge artist share and pass there music on through youtube. \m/ Heri where could I get a Mjolnir pendant like yours? Thanks!
I'm counting 29 frets on that guitar? Wow. Do you find yourself using those higher frets frequently? The last few look like they could be a pain to fret.
This guitar has a scale length between the standard and the baritone, so there is a bit more space between the frets. I don't find it that difficult to play. I play the 24+ frets quite frequently.
I really can't seem to get the pronounciation of the name "Týr" right. :-( You should make a tutorial about how to correctly pronounce your band name. :-D
According to the IPA provided on Tyr's wiki, it's pronounced something like "two-ear", kinda. But it's not two syllables. It's just one syllable, and ends up coming out closer to "twear".
Nick Hiebert Týr means male bull, and it's the same word in Norwegian except without the accented Y, so i just pronounce it like i would tyr. I realize that's not the proper Faroese way, though.
Could you do Hold the Heathen Hammer High?
I love the use of melody and harmony in your writing, and I love that you're breaking down the riffs here in addition to the solo. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
My top favorite TYR song to jam to on the road.
Sos un genio! Gracias Heri!!
Thank you.

I understand nothing about playing guitars or any other musical instrument, but damn, this sounds amazing
Love the inclusion of the Wikipedia article in the description.
Fantastic!!!!!
thank you very much!
This is a really helpful breakdown, Heri--especially the half-speed solo. Being able to see what is heard is very nice!! Thanks for doing this!!
Great!!! More from the old albums specially from Eric the red
Heri if you had time could you make a video showing how to play sinklars visa? It´s one of my favorite songs. I would apreciate a lot : )
It's on my rapidly expanding list :-)
I love Sinklars Visa ! When I got the album, and the opening vocals hit my ears,Sarah Paris became a Tyr fan.
And I will remain so🤘
Love this song, amazing playing on the solo Heri! Also, this song got me into Faroese lore (Trondur vs Sigmundur)

Your downpicking kicks ass.

Awesome! I hope to see more tutorials in the future. Your music and skills are inspiring. Thank you. :)
Also would love to see some sort of video ( how ever you choose) of Feigdin. Amazing tune my friend.
Best band ever!
Thank you very much :)
You are very good Heri :)

Thanks for the lesson, Heri! Will have to invest in 25 hr days for this brand of skill ;-)
Anyone know where I can get a tab of this? If not it would be great to see a song book released with multiple song tabs!
Could you do the song by the light of the northern star? Or maybe into the storm?
Thanks for sharing this one, Heri! ;)
Ha det bra!
Makes me want to learn guitar
Thanks for this video Heri. You're the best as always! Finally you've picked up Bjarnastein from closet. :-)
Heri, can u teach us how to play The Rune Solo?
Mange tak!!
that made me hungry
Nihil Islands Capite italiano?

When are you going to show us Lord of lies? I love seeing these breakdowns!
I could do that. It's not been requested very much.
@@HeriJoensen Do you sell your guitar tabs in a album book by chance? I would buy all of them if I could.
Henri, how do you get the note to vibrate near the end of the solo in the second last bar before the scale descent and bar dive?
If you get my name right, maybe I'll answer ;-)
Heri Joensen Hahaha for sure. At my restaurant the chefs name is Henri... Stupid phone replaced it and I didn't notice. Heri is nowhere near a Frenchman's name!

Heri Joensen thanks! I use a Floyd. Thanks for the clarification

Thanks!
Amon Amarth has some similar videos with Pursuit of Vikings and War of the Gods, if you like this one.
Julian Conley I'll have a look at them now, thanks man!
+Julian Conley What is the channel for that?

Heri Joensen Interesting. I hope there are more of these lessons to come, time permitting. Very nice of you to interact with the fans like this.
The Lord Of The StRings :)
will need a 7 string now

Tweer!
Tabs?
You should put tabs on your videos
Makes me jealous again. And wishing I could do more than playing a triangle.
Misleading thumbnail!!!
