And the northern Chiefs didn't stop to think that while they may take the throne, all the issues in the realm from the previous monarch will drop on their heads all at once.
What an amazing Dark Horse of a game-never seen anything quite so delightful! Maybe we could play/watch this once a month to see what other chaotic fun this game has? I can’t commit to playing a game but watching you interact with the community in this fantasy setting was a brilliant ride!
the portraits thing was very common in the high middle ages/early modern period given the large distances royal marriages would take place over. Anne of Cleves being perhaps the most famous of these and perhaps the first example of someones tinder portrait not being totally honest.
I reallt feel like part of the voting issue later on may also be that when peopke were joining after others got kicked, instead of the game trying to balance it, it instead kept putting people into the Chiefs. Don't know if this is the case but it could explain why half of the people at the end were Chiefs.
Count Incompetent Peasant - not an oxymoron, they were just so bad at peasanting they got promoted all the way to the nobility and into the House of Lords. 😜
This looks great for early party before everyone gets *too* drunk. That said, I'm worried about some of the descriptions. They're thinly veiled real cultures. The Grandees of the South sound like Muslim North Africans, and it's not good describing them as explosive zealots. Muslims put up with enough racism without this description hurting them further. It clashes badly with the honourable warrior lords who are Picts/Scots. I would also suggest removing the word 'boyar' from their description of the Barons of the March, as it's the only time they've used a phrase that directly points to a region. I've posted this to their Discord, but I also wanted to post this here, as our community is open and welcoming.
They responded instantly! thank you, this is valuable feedback. the regions do have specific flavour, but depending on the events and choices made they can veer into even more specific ones. we obviously want to make sure we don't contribute to any existing regional stigmas, though muslim north africa is not one we've seen referenced before, to be competely honest!
Your voice appears to soothe guinea pigs. I just bonded 2 additional Guinea pigs to my solo girl. They had been fighting, but listening to your stream in the background has caused them to calm down.
This is a great little game you streamed here Johnny, so thank you for that. The devs should be proud of their work on this one, for an early access game it's looking pretty good so far. Maybe this will have the replayability of a jackbox game, here's hoping. Also if you get another opportunity to stream this again it would be nice to see it again, but I will understand if this is not possible what with your busy schedule and all that.
When it's written that "Each guard has a scar bigger than the last" it reminds me of a scene from Mel Brooks' "History of The World: Part 1" (there was no part 2) where Empress Nympho, played by Madeline Kahn, went over a line of soldiers, choosing which for the midnight orgy. They're naked from the waist down. So she rejects/chooses some by singing "Yes, No, no, no, no, no, no YES!" etc. Then she sees one "very special" soldier at the end scream-singing "YEEESSS!!!"🤣 I was allowed to watch that likely too young lol! Anyway, it was to be known from the start that they were going to Fudge you over Johnny -Quelle Surprise? Not really ay.. 😁
Seems that the current build is rather broken, as by the end there were only a couple of Barons able to vote, which pretty much gave the Chiefs free reign to push the vote in any way they saw fit to achieve their goals. And there also seemed to be way more of them near end game as well. Thankfully, this is early access so there's plenty of time to iron out these issues and address the balance.
An all-staff in person meeting kept me from joining, but I am excited to see the chaos that was wrought by the lovely skelly pals. Edit: I was not disappointed. I felt bad for our lovely Monarch as it went on though. I like this game, but wonder if there will be a single player option with AI schemers.
Yeah, I think at the moment there's not really any reason for the Nobles to vote for the good of the Kingdom, which while probably accurate to real life, makes for a less interesting and less upbeat game. I think they should modify it so that when someone joins the game, they have to select their win condition-- overthrow the Monarch, or support the Monarch. Then they can try and steer their region toward their win condition, perhaps with special options during the region-exclusive plotting votes. Maybe nobles can even switch their win condition at will, so the Monarch never truly knows who their enemies and allies are. Not sure how best to implement that for the Twitch chat though, assuming it's not limited to a certain number of players like the browser approach is.
Cartographically speaking it was clear to see that the North was dominant; it makes sense that there were more of us...and that we had more money, and military.... Simply realistic, maybe even fair....right?
This was amazing, loved watching back as VoD-squad, I really hope more of this is to come when it comes out properly! All hail the Famine-bringer.
"We've dethroned God!... a bit" made me cackle outrageously, would absolutely love to see this streamed again when it's out of EA!

This was awesome, would love to see another stream of it.
I reckon we'll have another go once it's fully released!

Yeah, at a certain point every other faction voting in the same block couldn’t outvote the north
The gunpowder plot is SO novembery.
Welcome back brave explorer, what news from the portal? "well my liege....have you ever heard the bards tale..annihilation"

~29:40 - gunpowder? Couple of days too early for that ain’t it?
😜
Johnny does a self confuse at 51:27 and it’s adorable.

"No one gives a f**k about prophecy" said in a northern accent. Made me laugh a lot more than it probably should have done 🤣

There is now a Part 2!

King of the Castle? Says who? I didn’t vote for yer.
True power is derived from the people, not some farcical aquatic ceremony (throwing the monarch in a river)!

definitely needs polish, the north outnumbered both of the others combined at at the end, it was impossible for them to lose
I really like this game! Looking forward to playing it more :)
the customisable pronouns, sexuality etc are brilliant and I love them

Wow the 9th god is inclusive
This really was the perfect day to finish watching this stream and see a gunpowder treason and plot fail (sadly).
Wow, I got a bit emotional at the end there. That was a whole epic. But... what happened to Mag and the baby?
I only just realised that the music during the break is the same that Homer and Marge dance to .... on a boat or so, can't recall exactly
Wow chat really taking the US COVID response to crystal pox. 😬😬
In answer to the question posed in the thumbnail (spoilers): CHAT WILL DO NEITHER (until the end of the vid, anyways...)!!!
Wait as in your dog that you own and look after? Or just like a dog you found online that you use for intermissions?
That is my dog
Gorgeous looks like you take good care of it.
Aah fack: buildings!!
man as someone who does not really have that many friends it sucks that this is a non solo player game.

Hehe regions.
