I've never heard you tell the bee joke, and it was wonderful to see such unbridled joy. I think I laughed more at your response to your own joke than the joke itself 🤣 I wish I had caught the stream live, I live in Cumbria and some of my local knowledge may have come in handy. Interesting fact - the stone circle of Long Meg and her Daughters (labeled the daughters on the map) is supposedly a coven of witches who were turned to stone, or so the legend tells....
I feel so stupid cause I don't actually understand the bee joke but Johnny's joy and laughter when telling it gets me every time. Regardless, this game is lovely and I greatly enjoyed the stream on VOD.
18:30 at Johnny's reaction to the map I looked up to see as I grew up in this area, and lo and behold Arnside, the village where my family is based and where I lived for the first 19 years of my life is there in the bottom right! I screamed in joy, we usually only get referenced in Four in a Bed or Coastal Walks with my Dog, etc etc. Well now I need to play this to see what you can explore there!
learning about Johnny's wife's special interest in mushrooms made me very happy - nothing more delightful than an encyclopaedic knowledge of unassuming but deadly things
Several places in the US do serve baked potatoes as a side, but some also serve meat-filled potatoes as a meal here as well. They’re especially popular in bbq restaurants since the sauces compliment the potatoes well
I saw a bit of this stream and immediately had to close it until I could play the game for myself. I love this Papers, Please -like puzzle gameplay but without the stress of the time limit
I played this game a while back (and quite liked it), but as a hapless American, had no idea the map was based on a Real Place. Lovely stream, and educational too!
"I don't tell that joke often!" they say, "I received a text from my wife saying 'will you ever get tired of the bee joke'..." they also said. I'm not sure I believe you Johnny, I get the distinct feeling you attend amateur stand up nights with the one joke.
I love the bee joke. It gets funnier the more it sits with you. at first I was like "uh huh..okay then" then Johnny dies laughing and its like a spell was cast on me because now I can't help but think its funny
1:24:14 The plant that can keep you warm? It called flax, duh. Tim Minchin, iirc, had a joke that aspirin is made from a bark of a tree, and that alternative medicine that works called medicine.
I was rewatching this after playing this again a few days ago and when I realized you had gotten to the x marks the spot riddle I said “Oh God, no!” I was stuck poking so many different tiles on that one…
Seems like a really cool game. its on offer on Steam at the moment so I think I'll pick it up. Thanks for showing this! Don't think I would have heard of it otherwise.
I'm worried that UA-cam will see me stopping the video halfway through as a negative - the only reason I'm doing it is because I've bought the game and want to avoid spoiling myself :D Hopefully this comment will appease the algorithm. I'll be back to finish later once I've overtaken Johnny in the game!
Awesome, I friend and I would love this (we both are highly metaphysical and have a massive interest in horticulture due to the different uses in our belief systems) but sadly neither she nor I can play it, well I dont think anyway, our laptops are probably too weak since we both really only use those for writing…but I want to look into it. Thanks again for introducing me to games I would have never heard of otherwise yet again, always a pleasure
Ah. You only know half the joke, allow me to tell the whole: Why do you paint an elephant's toenails (swap for older child to balls) red? To hide them in a cherry tree. What's the loudest noise in the jungle? A giraffe eating cherries...
@@bofurlong8944 From their Eurogamer days, over on that channel. Great game, I do recommend it! It's from the creator of Sunless Sea, if you're familiar with that game.
What a wonderful low-key stream. I'm definitely going to have to play this game even though I don't PC game much. Also your wife and I have something in common Johnny, I too point out plants that can kill you in horrible ways to my husband as we walk around our parks. I'm pretty sure he's secretly terrified of me.

Bookmarking that the Bee Joke begins at approx 2:28:35 for my future joy.

My favorite christmas joke ever:
Two snowmen are standing in a field. one looks over and asks, 'do you smell carrots?'
Johnny's reaction to the bee joke is so much funnier than the joke itself

I did not get the bee joke at all, but watching Johnny was a joy.
Hope the stream went well. Other people watching the VOD, hope your day is going/went well.
No u 😤

You can even get baked potatoes at Wendy's! (Although I don't think they're very good). They are a top tier side dish though
Starts 1:04
Intermission ends 2:02:00
1:28:41 All mushrooms are edible, Johnny. It's just that some are only edible once.
I honestly said bless you when you sneezed and then realized I was talking to a video lol
I always do that too.
My ‘best’ dad joke is: what did the cheese say when it looked in the mirror? Haloumi!

Johnny explaining the blood pear with somber, near dreary piano accompaniment is hilarious

Saw a small video of this when it first came out, and I’m so happy to see you play it! Would love to see you finish it off in a future stream

the soft piano and rain noise really added to the description of the green avocado-like fruit, I think

11:09 As in the Voynich manuscript? Oh, now I'm invested.
Got this to play with my wife after watching the stream yesterday and we're really enjoying it 🙂
"Hate lappy birthday" got me way more than it should have.
That's the whole spectrum covered from a disparagingly muttered "erectile disfunction" at the customer's expense to the jollity that is The Bee Joke.
This is very chill and fun occult puzzly goodness ^^
such a cool game, loved watching you play it!
I had never heard of this game before, but i bought it because of this stream - and subsequently beat it in less than two days
I’m so glad they’re playing this game! It’s so cool!

Sorry I missed this live, but loving the VOD. Tempted to get this game - seems intriguing and chill.

I became instantly invested in this game when the map came out as I am a good old Cumbrian boy 😁

29:12. Fingersbane, I have encountered. Never poke the grill of an AC condenser
Please play the rest of this. Please please!
This reminds me of Cultist Simulator a bit. Which Johnny also got me to play.
I don’t recall that one. Do they have it on VOD?

Just wanted to come back and update that I’ve purchased and put an ungodly amount of hours into this game in two days
