What's worse was for me, I came out at 21. I reconnected with a close friend I met my senior year of High School. We'd become close. I didn't really know I was gay and he and I fooled around. I fell in love. I cared so deeply for him. Then, he vanished one day. This was in 2001, so the term ghosting wasn't used yet, but that's what he did. I ran into him six months later and he told me he wasn't really gay. He just was experimenting. He had not made that clear at the time. He's now married with four kids. He and I don't speak, and he accepts that after trying to get a hold of me. It was heart wrenching.
This is exactly what happened to us with my straight friend. I fell in love with him and it really sucks. I decided to end our friendship instead ‘cuz if I keep always being with him, I feel hurt

I was inlove with a friend from high school and wanted to be with him. All that changed one day when he said all fa*gots should be shot. I never spoke to him again after that, he's now a cop in our hometown.

@@squidward9747 .. nope he has a history of arresting black and brown people for reason. I found out a few years ago he beat the crap of a gay man just for fun. My father is a lawyer and refused to take his case.

I tried to reconnect with a high school classmate to try and talk about the connection with had in high school; nothing romantic or sexual. When we reconnected years later; I tried to talk to him, but he ghosted me again. I just finally came to terms and stopped trying.
