The lifelines of our country sabotaged....not even left in situ for future generations to decide they were needed again. Conservative vandalism.
So sad .....but what an amazing 😉 version of this lovely song by Mike shaky Williams....goes so well with the photos.

So sad and so beautiful at the same time, heartbreaking to see the destruction. The music is absolutely perfect.

Only in the UK could our heritage and hard won infrastructure be dismantled, destroyed, or simply left to rot in this way. An utter disgrace, and so very sad!

So very true and unfortunately so few of us seem to care. Not enough to make a difference….however…..a recently demolished pub in the West Midlands ‘The Crooked House’ has caused a near riot….it was unique and now it’s gone, deliberately destroyed for no good reason. People are demanding it is rebuilt….brick by brick, so perhaps a forlorn hope that caring for our heritage might become fashionable. 🚂🚴‍♂️👣🇺🇦

The shots of the old viaducts being demolished break my heart. Vandals! The closure of this and so many other lines came just too early for the railway heritage movement to insist on their preservation. They'd never get away with it now.

Extremely sad to see the enthusiastic destruction of something we will never, ever see the like of again. Largely due to the blinkered minds of people who just wouldn't stop and think of the future...

devastating what they have done to the railways up and the country in the 1960s we need them more than ever now with congestion on the roads today...................Tony

Politicans just hate paying taxes and employing people.
They have to pay vast amounts to the gnomes of Zurich while allowing bankers and businessmen boast about how much money they divert into tax havens.

Loving that area as I do, I think that line could have had terrific tourist potential. A great sadness that I shall never be able to take that journey

Incidentally the amount of grass and new topsoil on the disused tracks is a good example showing how young Earth is.
Two inches topsoilin 40 years means that if Earth was old there shoudl be thousands of feet of topsoil everywhere.

@@jerryhayes9497 You must have an exceedingly low IQ to be unable to do the arithmetic.
No doubt your teachers at grade school didn't have enough hands t facepalm themselves?
Best you go back in the dark basement and pretend to be a Neanderthal.
