As I take dinner out of the sun oven I replace it with a turkey pan full of soapy water. When we're finished eating, the soapy water is hot for washing dishes. Love my All American Sun Oven ❤
@@Birder668 I use my sun oven at least once a week, when I need to make a chunk of meat like a chicken or roast, and I add vegetables or what ever and that will be our main meal food for the week. its just the two of us so a whole chicken goes a long way.. I have tried to bake bread in it but still haven't quite got the nice bread like they do.

I love my sun oven. I have had it at least 4 years. I use it on the days I'm cutting grass all day and am too tired to cook, but very hungry at the end of the day. I can smell it cooking when I'm cutting close to the oven. Yum.

I've had my AASO for about 8 years- I have always enjoyed using it- but this summer I've used it almost every single day-Even if it's baked potatoes- I put them in there and grill out the steaks. Well worth the money. The ALL AMERICAN SUN OVEN IS AN AWESOME APPLIANCE!

I found this to be a fantastic video. I never thought that living in Las Vegas would allow me to lower my utility bills. My home is very efficient during the hot Summer months, but, I now can lower the cost of using electricity by using a sun oven instead of my gas stove. Thank you guys for this demonstration.

I'm a homey but I definitely am so much a newbie!!! I've started making fermented veggies and kraut (THANKS, Stacey!!!), and I've been working on container gardening for a few years now. Next spring we will move to planting in the front yard. You are VERY inspirational to me and I love all your vlogs! Keep 'em coming!
I've been on the fence, this video is selling me. Purifying water is one of the features that interest me. As for saving money on heating water. I don't use the water heater in the summer I use the hot water from the 3 hose that is coiled on the South/West side of house, I have hot water from June to mid Sept, free, in the winter the woodstove heats the water. Our state has one of the highest electricity rates, but, got my electric bill down to 29. a month. Since I got the rocket stove, and turned off the hot water tank.
I had no idea you could do all of that in a solar oven! I may have to consider getting one now. Beats putting on the oven in summer and warming your entire house up!

Stacey, I bet you could put a circle of parchment paper (with a small hole for the handle) on top of the Dutch Oven (to block the reflection instead of the cloth) and put biscuits or rolls on top of it to cook at the same time your making a chili, stew or whatever in the pot. P.S. We butter a slice of bread and use that to rub on our ear of corn to butter it. Works great and the bread taste great afterwards too!

a bunch of little steps can really help weve really taught the kids to turn things off when leaving a room and we don't use air conditioners at all this year just 2 window fans. also improved the "seal" of the apartment so in the winter we don't have to use the electric heat as much all this and other our power bill this year is down at least $30-$40. which is a big deal for us. but I know we can get it down farther if we keep working on small changes. I really love that sun oven I think if I had a back yard id already have one , not that I couldn't put it on my patio. they are so awesome and they look very well built LOVE LOVE LOVE this

And to listen to the man who knows everything there is to know (did he invent it?) about the AASO; With all the little tricks like spritzing the bread, and stacking the Brownies (Doug you'll be in a Chocolate Coma tonight 😂) which proves you can cook for a big family in it & which we wouldn't usually see with Stacy. All he said about the 'Crisis' situation so many are preparing for and Water heating & Safety was new info to me, the food especially that Turkey looked Divine, DEE-VINE!! Doug and Stacy, question before I purchase one....How do they work in extreme sun and heat...In June/ July / August my temps range from 115-130 here in the desert? Do they get too hot?
Gayle Hooper Yes Gayle he explains very well the range of temps, ways to cool it down e.g. for dehydrating herbs etc. As long as there is Sun, you can cook. In the Winter you might have to adjust the position more often to keep the Sun on the face of the oven and adjust the height of the angle with the bar at the back, maybe put it on a table to help too, because the Sun is much lower in the sky and it's path across the Sky is shallower than in High Summer but this Yoke deals with every issue Sun Cooking throws up. THE ALL AMERICAN SUN OVEN IS AN AWESOME APPLIANCE. 😄 For sure. P.s. It allows you to cook with the door partially open to further vent out heat in High Summer. Hope this helps you.

an easier way to husk cooked corn is to cut off the stem end and squeeze the top end. no fighting with the silk :)

I've been on the fence, this video is selling me. Purifying water is one of the features that interest me. As for saving money on heating water. I don't use the water heater in the summer I use the hot water from the 3 hose that is coiled on the South/West side of house, I have hot water from June to mid Sept, free, in the winter the woodstove heats the water.
Our state has one of the highest electricity rates, but, got my electric bill down to 29. a month. Since I got the rocket stove, and turned off the hot water tank.
I had no idea you could do all of that in a solar oven! I may have to consider getting one now. Beats putting on the oven in summer and warming your entire house up!
Love the idea of drying vegetables. Would love to see ideas for using dried vegetables

Stacey, I bet you could put a circle of parchment paper (with a small hole for the handle) on top of the Dutch Oven (to block the reflection instead of the cloth) and put biscuits or rolls on top of it to cook at the same time your making a chili, stew or whatever in the pot.
P.S. We butter a slice of bread and use that to rub on our ear of corn to butter it. Works great and the bread taste great afterwards too!

a bunch of little steps can really help weve really taught the kids to turn things off when leaving a room and we don't use air conditioners at all this year just 2 window fans. also improved the "seal" of the apartment so in the winter we don't have to use the electric heat as much all this and other our power bill this year is down at least $30-$40. which is a big deal for us. but I know we can get it down farther if we keep working on small changes. I really love that sun oven I think if I had a back yard id already have one , not that I couldn't put it on my patio. they are so awesome and they look very well built LOVE LOVE LOVE this

This is a brilliantly full of information video (Lawks that's a flippin' mouthful) This video is full of really good information (😂 says it better lol) It's a treat to see so many things being done all at once, even though I've seen ALL of Stacy's AASun-Oven videos. And to listen to the man who knows everything there is to know (did he invent it?) about the AASO; With all the little tricks like spritzing the bread, and stacking the Brownies (Doug you'll be in a Chocolate Coma tonight 😂) which proves you can cook for a big family in it & which we wouldn't usually see with Stacy. All he said about the 'Crisis' situation so many are preparing for and Water heating & Safety was new info to me, the food especially that Turkey looked Divine, DEE-VINE!! I wonder how much Sun you get in November 😉 Christmas 2016 was Sunnier and Warmer than this whole last week, it's been Monsoon rain plus Christmas cold - who'd'a thunk it? Doug and Stacy, question before I purchase one....How do they work in extreme sun and heat...In June/ July / August my temps range from 115-130 here in the desert? Do they get too hot?
So it can be used in the winter too?
I've think, in another video, it was mentioned that winter is not a problem, can still use.
Gayle Hooper Yes Gayle he explains very well the range of temps, ways to cool it down e.g. for dehydrating herbs etc. As long as there is Sun, you can cook. In the Winter you might have to adjust the position more often to keep the Sun on the face of the oven and adjust the height of the angle with the bar at the back, maybe put it on a table to help too, because the Sun is much lower in the sky and it's path across the Sky is shallower than in High Summer but this Yoke deals with every issue Sun Cooking throws up. THE ALL AMERICAN SUN OVEN IS AN AWESOME APPLIANCE. 😄 For sure. P.s. It allows you to cook with the door partially open to further vent out heat in High Summer. Hope this helps you.

Thank you so much for posting this video! It is the one I have been waiting for since the last seminar. I was also wondering if you could just put the turkey in with a drip tray underneath and not have to use a plastic roasting bag? AND ... I also heard in the last seminar that you can sterilize soil. HOW and WHY would you want to do that?
