Wow. Thanks so much for actually jacking up a car and stressing it side to side to check for movement and racking. It looks a LOT more sturdy than I would have thought it would be. I'll pick one up when the march sale hits!
No prob! I've had a few jacks collapse from side to side movement lol. I wanted to make sure this was actually worth the money ha
That side to side movement was the caster wheels moving.. the lift arms were pretty solid! They also put slightly larger caster wheels on...I bought this jack... not cheap @ $299 for only 1.5 ton rating... but it's a very nice jack....
Thanks for putting this out there!
You're welcome! I saw a few other videos pulling it out of the box, but not really using it. I wanted to show people that it's pretty stout!
Great video as always dude!
Thanks!
Nice review....Need to replace my old floor jack soon, sounds like a good option.
Thanks! I'm pretty happy with it so far! But, I also haven't used it a ton yet.
That’s nice. I still use my Pittsburgh 1.5 ton.
Nice video - definitely appreciated seeing how much waggle there is (or, in this case, isn't 😉 )
Thanks! This Jack has been great for me. I will say that if the ground isn't perfectly level it sometimes will get a bit of flex to it, so as long as you're on flat ground it's good to go.
I appreciate this review. My charger is slammed and not a issue if i am at my garage but a issue everwhere else. I seen this jack and the aluminum race stands today at harbor freight. Its almost 3/4" lower than the next compairable BMW tunner jack avalible aat this price point.
You're welcome!
I love my Aluminum 1.5 ton HF jack. I still wont get under the car without jack stands.
Same. I've had the old aluminum 1.5 ton HF jack bend, then it won't lower all the way. For low cars this can become a big problem, if you don't have a spare low profile jack to lower it. This Jack has been holding up great for me though!
Nope, it's $300 because it goes to a maximum height of 16 1/8 inches the others 1.5 ton jacks go to 14 inches, huge difference.
That's a good point too!
I just got this jack but am struggling with checking the fluid level, when I take the plug out it doesn't show the top of the piston like the instructions show and like on most jacks because the fill plug is further up on the jack and not directly over the piston. Do you have any suggestions for getting the right fluid level?
I too noticed some side movement on not totally level ground, I'm wondering if the 2 ton Dayton aluminum jack would be better, but this one really seems to be overbuilt so not sure. Thanks for the video!
Hmmm. I haven't tried to check the fluid level. I usually only do that if it's not performing well lol
@@DoctoredGarage haha, sounds like a good plan. thanks for the reply!
I’m curious about the product height towards the rear of the unit at its highest point. Do you happen to have that dimension?
I don't sorry. This jack lives in my trailer now, so I only use it when I go to the track.
Just measured mine. Where it bends up from the saddle, it goes to about 3.25" (all these are approx). At the big pivot bolt is is 5.3" and about 5.8" at the tallest point on the sides.
Nice jack. Just don’t think it would reach my subframe. I also want at least 2 ton in an aluminum. My car weighs just under 4000lb. I might just have to deal with the weight of the Daytona 3 ton long reach. Thanks for the video.
You're welcome! Oh yeah 4000lb car I would definitely be getting a 2 ton at a minimum. My cars weigh like a max is 2700lbs so it works well for me
Good video! I'm not sure why the sound of your old jack an the sound of rolling a new jack rolling matters. But this is a good video!
Thanks! It's just one of those things that is annoying to me ha. When I'm dragging my jack across the floor in the garage my wife can hear it from the opposite side of the house lol
I thought it was one of the most interesting points in the video, and having one now it's a nice benefit. Not a reason to buy one probably, but definitely a good note on the experience of living with the jack. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Think you missed the point on price. For a good racing jack you are looking at spending over a grand.
That's true, but I don't think this can hold a candle to the racing jacks of that caliber. They're generally way sturdier, heavier lift capacity, etc. I don't think that's necessarily a fair comparison
jack races must be underground, can't find a track to race these " racing jacks".
😆😆
OH I GET IT
Good one😂
If you want to get crushed, buy a Harbor Freight jack 😂
I've used all kinds of jacks over the last 20 years and surprisingly have never had an issue using a harbor freight jack.
Although, I also don't work under a car when it's on a jack.
Need to Make THIS JACK in 2 Ton Capability
2 ton would be perfect!
They have one the Daytona 2 ton aluminum jack it weighs at 42 lbs. This 1.5 ton weighs in at 36.
