I bought this jack last month and used it for the first time today, to jack up the rear end of my 3200lb car. Just about the time I got the car fully raised, I heard a pop and then noticed the jack descending with hydraulic fluid pooling beneath the jack fluid; the seals had apparently blown. Before this time I had tested the jack with no load and it seemed to work fine, except that it was taking about 5½ pumps to reach full height instead of the advertised 3½. I attributed this to air in the system and so did the oil top off, it was a little low, and the air bleeding, there were some bubbles. After that the jack worked fine, as advertised, and I then lubricated the joints and pivot points with white lithium grease as per the instructions. I'm going to take the jack back to HF for an exchange, as I really like the jack and am hoping this one was just a fluke. I know that this jack is made in China🫤
@@MajorWeakness It was a great surprise to me also, as the jack seemed to be a well-built piece of equipment. I'm tending to think that it was one of those duds that will show up, given a large enough production run. I'm going to exchange it today at HF for another unit.
It looks like a decent product I'm gonna wait for a little while Incase people star having problems with it is Harbor freight thanks for the video I definitely need this ✌️
Nice jack. I need one for my 5000 pound truck, so I guess I need a 2.5 or 3 ton jack. Too bad this one is only 1.5 ton or 3000 lbs. It will work for my civic but no for my truck. Can you lift your Jeep's front with it to do and oil change or remove 2 tires at same time or only 1 corner at a time? Any idea if they will sale a 2.5 or 3 ton jack?
Only one tire at a time. Harbor Freight is about to come out with a new "off road " floor jack with big wheels and a very high lift for off road vehicles like Jeeps. It will be under the Badlands brand, not Daytona. I'm not sure of the lift rating. I saw it on a video at the SEMA show this week.
When I remove the fill screw, I cannot see the piston. Hard to explain, but all you see is a hole which slants toward the front of the jack, but you can't see the top of the piston. I just returned mine, got another, and same thing. Can you see if you see basically just a bored hole when you remove your fill screw? Not sure how I'm supposed to know when the piston is covered when I can't see the top of it.
I hope they come out with a 2 Ton Version of THIS Jack
I'm waiting for the Badland Offroad Jack
Completely failed to mention the priming process for the new jack before use in the instruction manual...just sayin
True
Hopefully the cat thieves find out about this jack later rather than sooner
True!

@videomaniac108 wow that's horrible. My jack still works great

Still happy with it?
Yes. Still working good with lots of DIY use. Best thing is the light weight as I get older easier to move around
Lightweight jacks are groovy for backs!
Man that baby is nice. Also one sweet deal you got Major.💪👍👍😁😁
Most I've ever paid for a jack but it's cheaper than a new back 😆

So far so good
My only concern would be it warping on somewhat uneven ground
I would hope as long ad you keep it under the 1.5 ton rating it should be fine
It's made out of plate. It won't flex.

@@MajorWeakness Ok, thanks. Hope they make the same one you got for 3 tons.
@@joaquinsuarez6090 or even 2 tons would be great imo
I wish I could see the rain storm . Must be nasty
Damn simple design. Why not earlier lol. Thanks for sharing
Working great so far!
Great video major!
Thank you
I wish it had a rubber puck stock. If i add it will raise the min height
True
Hockey pucks!
How much do the other 1.5 jacks weigh? I'm thinking of buying this.
All of their aluminum 1.5 ton jack weigh between 32 and 36 pounds. This one lifts more then 3 inches higher than the others.

I'll look tonight. Did oil seep out when u removed?
@@MajorWeakness At first, yes. But after testing out the jack for a minute, no (no oil came out the second time I removed the fill screw).
