    One of my best friends works for the largest egg supplier in Canada, with 3,000+ employees and this is a decades old company with the industry being even older. The egg supply to some level is always affected by AVI, some years worse than others. There are strict regulatory controls to prevent it spreading to different flocks. As it relates to people, no reports of anyone ever getting sick from it. We’re talking about farm flocks that are at least 40K to 200K+ count of birds, and AVI has been with us for years. Now admittedly the risk is not zero, but there are more heart attacks and cancer deaths in Canada than before 2020. This should be the focus of medicine, not the outliers. In business you focus on the big problems not the small problems.

    This nearly mirrors the fight in beekeeping! ...the use of pesticides to stop a mite, which carries a terrible virus, but the use of the pesticides weaken the overall health of the colony.

    Our whole society revolves around food. Every party, get together, function, vacation, wedding, you name it…food is such large part. We celebrate it. Weddings and parties are judged on how good the food and deserts were. If this is ever going to turn around we have to fundamentally change the emphasis food has on every aspect of our lives.
    So what do we do? The education is all out there. People know the repercussions of poor food choices. I’m not a big fan of greater government action but maybe we need to start treating these horrible food options like we did with cigarettes with warnings all over. Maybe every fast food restaurant , coffee shop and bakery needs a warning label on the door. Warning labels on processed food options in the stores. Why not?

    The worst part of this is the mass killings of birds. Near me in Clackamas, Oregon, a building of 150,000 birds were killed when an employee tested positive for bird flu… no actual sick birds. I have a small organic pastured egg farm and now lying grocery store brands (ex: Vital Farms) are more expensive than my eggs. That’s insane!! This is all about money, just like the pandemic.

    Don’t ask me where I read it, but the “experts” were trying to say that bird flu had jumped to cattle. Someone gave an explanation that makes sense to me. We eat grass fed meat, but some ranchers feed their cattle corn. So, when they are harvesting the corn, if there is a bird that gets caught in the equipment and ground up and then fed to the cattle, they can get bird flu that way. It is not a “bird to cattle” transmission. If that makes sense.

    • @joshuagaray4807
      @joshuagaray4807 4 дні тому

      It has jumped to cows. That’s part of the panic that it’s now affecting a more mammalian species so the next natural step could be it mutating to infect humans but so far it’s still very rare and cows aren’t dying on mass. Just a lot getting infected.

    • @LazyboyRecliner
      @LazyboyRecliner 2 дні тому

      A bird does't have to get ground up in it, If an infected bird is eating from that pile of corn, it's also leaking mucus and crapping all over the corn.

    I do believe that we have to be cautious about information regarding the dissease. Its not fair to just put it off, dismiss deaths as a result of old age. or ignore the news all together. Right now, bird flu isnt a huge problem, anyone who says that is right as rain. A little thing with mamalian influenzas that most ppl dont really consier is the process of Reassortment. If 2 types of Influenza infect the same host, they can swap genes while infecting the same host. Reassortment can result in a new strains, with combined abilities depending on what genes were swapped. this virus can have new antigens, and no human alive would have any immunity. If we apply this information to A case in which H5N1 infects someone with seasonal influenza, the reassortment could create a Strain of bird flu that can spread from human to human effortlessly, with no patient having any immunity. This cannot be dismissed as a possible situation, there must be more to be done. It does not matter how healthy you are, if a new virus emerges as a result of reassortment, you can get infected. This is a nightmare scanario, and health care officials should do whatever they can do prevent it.

      Covid is primarily a vascular disease and has caused quite a few deaths in professional athletes. Numbers suggest that the global rise in cardio-vascular disease has been as a result of repeat covid infections (very few can be attributed to vaccinations as we're lead to believe in some circles). Effectively some of these cardio problems have been contagious. A H5 derived flu (avian flu combined with existing flu) may cause a pandemic worse than covid & it will probably have a greater impact on younger, apparently healthy people - this of course depends on the strain(s) that circulate during a pandemic. It's something we all need to acknowledge as a probable outcome. It may not happen in 2025 but it could. We need to be realistic. Using words like fear mongering makes me cringe because it demonstrates weakness and delusion.
