The Herd with Colin Cowherd
/ colincowherd
Do you think Lamar Jackson is the future of the Baltimore Ravens?
The Herd with Colin Cowherd no, not at all, he's going to have to play the Kordell role and be the new version of "Slash" in order to make a immediate impact.
Yes. As Bucky, DJ and most other scouts say you need to help him by changing the scheme and obviously teach him to play from the pocket a little more. If done right he can be a russell wilson or deshaun watson. And being behind flacco is good as well, will teach him the basics of being a decent pocket passer. Gotta let the talent flurish without letting it get out of control.
No. He is too slight and doesn't have the passing skill set to make it in the N.F.L. He reminds me of the quarterback turned wide receiver from Ohio State that previously played for the Browns.
The Ravens think it, and that's all that matters
Kendy Louwaars this is the only answer. Crazy how stupid people are to think they actually know the future lmao
Looking back now in 2021, I can see why Bucky Brooks isn’t a scout for some NFL franchise anymore.
😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂2023 5 years later
"Im not a mock draft guy.... so here is my super early 2019 Mock draft"
Weekly Dosage Films hahahaha!!
Weekly Dosage Films here is my favorite NFL ready QB for 2019. He’s big, thick, trunky, coastal kid! Look how trunky he is. Trunky!
'here is my 2018 mock draft 12.0"
7 months later...Josh Rosen isn’t near Baker in his play
Try 25 months later.
@@urusledge 29 months later?
Kurt Warner went from grocery store clerk to qb for the cardinals. I feel like this is rosens story just in reverse
This didn't age well.
The Cards got rid of Rosen after one season.
And so did Miami.
Lets hope RG3 isn't teaching Lamar how to slide and avoid contact
Lamar is much faster, so his biggest issue is just getting out of bounds to avoids the bad hits to his legs. Griffin had to learn how to do that, and will pass that along.
Bryan Hallman griffin pre knee injury was faster remember he was a legit track and field star
Rg3 had better straight line speed, nothing close to Jackson's agility
I dunno, Lamar is really fast. I would say low 4.3's. He hasn't shown it except on game tape.
Bryan Hallman he still doesn't know how to slide ha ha don't think he played baseball
How wrong y'all were. Baker is the one that person who puts energy into his team. Didn't y'all watch the film? Ten games in, best passer of rookie group. Three time Pepsi rookie of the week, out of 10 weeks. Has won more games than Browns in last 2 years.
Watching old Cowherd takes on the draft is truly great comedy. :-) Nobody gets em all right, but it's really hard to be wrong as often as he is.
That two time walk on won the Heisman and was the most efficient QB in the history of college football. Come on now.
If this was reversed, and baker said what Rosen said Colin would have dedicated his whole show to how cocky baker is lol
Bucky brooks knows his stuff. Very knowledgeable
He’s not very knowledgeable lol
He’s so biased against teams. Watch or listen to his podcast on NFL Network
This is the guy who kept saying philly would lose every week lol
It's December now and now in retrospect, Bucky doesn't look well with his predictions with this quarterback class.
NoDog InTheFight This guy said Baker Mayfield was Tyrod Taylor wtf. Their play-style couldn’t be more different. Baker is a risk taker (sometimes too much), Tyrod Taylor is too risk-averse. Plus Baker has a rocket arm while Tyrod consistently under-throws receivers.
Now I see why Bucky isn’t actually working for an NFL front office lmao
And lamar had to watch them all go before him smh
Lamar is out of the league most likely if he was drafted top 10
@@SI10379 He wouldn't have if he was drafted to buffalo at no 7.
@@jqwiiiiqqirmnsnnsnnsnnsmjjrj ya true
get Bucky on the show more please
Rosen the underdog? No, heck no, the underdog is Lamar Jackson, so many people praise Rosen but not Jackson, people say how great and ready a QB Rosen is, not Jackson.
Jackson will be better than Allen and Rosen
Jackson got drafted in the 1st round he ain't no underdog.
KingUfa206 he was drafted at 32, Rosen was angry he got picked 10th, and I hear people and scouts not saying alot of positive things about him and saying he's not a great QB and should be a WR or RB, so alot of people are doubting him, so in this case he is the underdog
SCARFACE9511 Yes a lot of people are doubting him but he still got drafted in the 1st as a QB. Richard Sherman 5th round pick is a underdog. Jackson is not an underdog there are no underdogs in the first round.
KingUfa206 bruh all he’s saying is based on the circumstances Jackson is an underdog which is true he is, you don’t only have to be a 6th round pick to be an underdog
One of the first years I am really interested to see which QBs from this draft class are going to succeed and which ones are going to fail. Sometimes I think Jackson, Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield are all gonna he great and sometimes I don’t know if any of them will.
A year later Josh Rosen getting traded and Baker Mayfield on his way to a Superbowl in the next 4 years
@ATL 1 No he was right, Baker made it to Miami in 2020 but he stopped playing football in December.
This video aged poorly 😂
Bucky Brooks says Mayfield is Tyrod Taylor. He also said Trent Richardson is Adrian Peterson. When are people going to stop listening to clowns like Bucky Brooks and Colin Cowherd?
codemonkeybrains Exactly, this is somehow worse than the lazy Manziel comparisons. They play nothing alike😂
remember this now in 2019 you called it
Trent Richardson as good as he was can never be mentioned in the same sentence as Adrian Peterson. Just sayin
I don't think the California quarterbacks wanted to be in Cleveland. And Baker actually fits Cleveland. Nobody likes or wants them. Nobody believes in them. I'm not saying he'll be a all-time great. But, he fits how the Browns feel.
I’m a die hard Brown life & I agree
Lmao first min got me dying🤣🤣🤣
Tyrod Taylor? People underestimate Baker cause he's short but if he was an inch taller he would be consensus 1st overall
This is so true
Quaker Gayfield is just a very slightly more talented Manziel.
Tyrod Taylor is listed at 6'1".....and you never hear about his heigth.
Adam thats not true Manziel was incredibly quick at extending the play and escaping the pocket when it collapsed, Baker just does not have that speed.
Adam Pennington Mayfields game is absolutely nothing like Manziels. People just make this comparison because of the off the field issues. On the field Baker is a far better QB than Manziel could ever hope to be.
Baker Mayfield is Tyrod Taylor? Has Brooks ever watched them play? Horrible judgement from a "scout".
This dude really compared Baker Mayfield to Tyrod Taylor
Chris Naylor How can he be so terrible at his job and not face any consequences?
Right lmao idk how tf these people be praising him like an nfl analyst guru 😴 trash takes
Lamar Jackson is the future 🙌🏽🙏🏽. Ozzie is a god 😈
Aye u were right af
"Thrown to the back of the bus"😬😬😬
Peyton Manning told GMs that if they didnt draft him he'd make them pay....the media loved when he said that....now they're whining about Rosen....Aaron Rodgers still has that chip...the media loves it...Brady still has the chip...they love it...
Drederick Tatum Mayfield gets the same treatment.
The difference is Rosen is clearly the weaker quarterback to Mayfield, Darnold and Jackson may not be a better Quarterback per say but he’s a better athlete that can throw and run making him a double threat Rosen is just a spoiled brat that in reality he’s not as good as he thinks he is.
Scouts actually compare Josh Rosen to Peyton Manning and his personality to Aaron Rodgers. Like Rodgers Rosen is an extremely intelligent QB with an extremely high football IQ.
Levi Prather Wow. You clearly know nothing.
I think it's more about how he said it, Peyton didn't really acknowledge his draft mates, Rosen saying the picks ahead of him were mistakes could be perceived in a negative way
.. this one age well...
1:24 beautifully said
How dumb does their take on Josh Rosen seem today
I think Colin is a closet Baker fan
No, he should just go hide in the closet. He is gonna have nightmares every time Baker does something great!
Colin, you, as long as Klatt is around, will be eating your words about Mayfield for years! you can't seem to admit when you're wrong. more hilarity will ensue as you continue to tap dance around this issue while, simultaneously, trying to build credibility in the talent evaluation/mock draft field.
Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah along with Mike Mayock easily best draft analysts out there.
Tom Weightman How exactly? He just said Baker was like Tyrod lmao. Their playstyles are literally polar opposites
Hahaha, Watch this video again. 🤡
Oh dear, this aged horribly 💀.
i'm reminded of a quote from the movie Happy Gilmore when i hear people go on and on about Josh Allen. it was said to Happy re: his hockey but someone could say it to Allen, too: "but there's a problem: you're not any good." i wish him the best - he's got a lot of physical gifts, as well as mental - but a QB in the NFL must be greater than the sum of their parts to have success. i heard that Aikman said a QB can do just about everything right but if they aren't accurate it doesn't matter.
Great interview Bucky
Rosen still only the fourth best QB in the NFC West...
Eike Petersen nfc West is going to be a bloodbath now
NFC West has some great qbs yo
Russel v Jimmy G v Goff v Rosen = Bloodbath for the next 5-10yrs
SEA on a deep decline now tbh
Eike Petersen haha so true
Baker Mayfield: "HOW D"YA LIKE ME **NOW**?!?!?" :-)
These predictions didn’t age well. Especially Rosen lol
i love the insight on tyrod pushing mayfield that is so true he is gonna have to earn the job.
Bwahahahahahahaha
Bruh Ridley to the falcons should be scaring every single team in the league. Can’t believe he fell to Atlanta , great pick.
I know right? Julio, Sanu AND Ridley all coming at you? And Freeman and Coleman out of the backfield??? If Sark can figure out how to call the offense this will easily be the best offense in the NFL this season! Don't forget about Hooper either...
Bucky Brooks was so wrong about Josh Rosen😂😂😂😂😂
Hilarious to watch this now. Rosen given up to Dolphins for nothing- after Cards paid 90% of his whole salary and signing bonus.
Why is German soccer Coming up Next on fs2?
Last night in the draft, Bucky was cluuuueless in his analysis
Bucky “Common Denominator” Brooks
Bucky “Better than Colin Cowerd” Brooks
Can't wait for Colin to say how bad baker is because of his attitude and not mention anything about his production what so ever
I know right? Listen to Colin and you'd think Mayfield was the worst QB in the whole draft.
MegaTechpc college stats dont matter in the nfl
Donald Wilson efficiency does
Donald Wilson Ok, so what about NFL stats?
Are you psychic?
Bucky Brooks..I was impressed with him..dude has some pretty good insight and was easy to listen to...I like em...))
Love to see how much Colin hyped Josh Rosen and dismissed Josh Allen, in rookie QBs, Colin always fail, so based in that logic, prepare the OROY for Zach Wilson…
OROY FOR ZACH🤡🤡🤡🤡🗑💩
John Dorsey is re-awakening the "sleeping giant!" Baker Mayfield, as important as he is, is but one piece of the puzzle.
In Dorsey We Trust!
Believe it or not, with or without the approval of the haters, The Cleveland Browns ARE going to be, "THE" AFC team of the 2020's! Hold on to your hats-- The Browns are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And now you guys got OBJ, Hunt, Vernon, and Richardson along with all the great players they already got last year! As a Falcons fan, I’m terrified of Cleveland this season!
@@MegaTechpc yeah I'm terrified of the 2-6 Browns
I thought they'd go 8-8 but wow
Bucky Brooks in thumbnail I’m clicking
internalize it is great advice.
john doe Carleone advice
He's finally coming around on Mayfield
One more concussion and Rosen retires at 25
Wil F how many concussions has he had
Donald Wilson 2
Not to mention someone heavy falling on his shoulder
If they can get him they should go with courtland sutton tonight. He's a first round talent.
Please Tell Me Jim Mora Didn’t Just Contribute to Rosen’s perfect draft spot landing
Don't let Mason Rudolph go the patriots
When the eagles won the super bowl how long before you went from pleased to these guys are a holes, everyone wants the pats to fall, just wait till you see New York Jets fans and a good QB, your gonna wish the pats were good again, your going to miss Brady when he's gone every super bowl he's in has been an instant classic, edge of your seat game.
We got him ✅💯
@@thatcoolkid777 He's also your future.
Looking back in retrospect, they drafted a bum
Perfect fit they said....
*god, Buckys mock draft was TERRIBLE!! He wiffed in all of them!!* 😳😂
tenisto38 cuz hes in baltimore and ravens need a new breed of QB. Big whoop. Mike mayoch had him going to Bmore
oBlizkin pretty much every analyst had a wrong mock draft....
Paul N. Mike mayoch consiatently has the most correct...including this year. He had 6 correcr this year...and Daniel Jeremiah had 5. Bucky couldnt even get the top 10 correct, let alone 5 😂
Lee Deplace Based on this video he seems like a terrible evaluator lmao. I’m not a scout and after watching 10 minutes of Baker playing in college I could still tell that his playstyle was the polar opposite of Tyrod’s lmao. I wonder how these people can be so terrible at their job and apparently not face any consequences
I’m glad we picked a linebacker over Ridley, when we pick a receiver we want a all around player. Catch jump balls, make plays from screens, and run routes. I just don’t see Ridley as a number one reciever(although Ridley can run run routes and make plays, I don’t see him as much of a jump ball guy or complete)
This aged well
Well this was not it
Yes, not every player is 6’4 5 star recruit who went to private St. John bosco and comes from a wealthy family with the option to play on scholarship anywhere in the country. I think baker is a winner, darnold is a franchise guy, and Aaron Rodgers and Allen went to jr college.
The Lucky Duckyeq
imagine if Bucky and Colin were running a team LMAO...
I just closed my eyes and seen the New York Jets ...
Exactly
BUCKY THE GOAT
They were so wrong. Lol. Go Browns!!
It is not about where you’re picked, it’s about where you best fit. The key to sustained, long term success for NFL QBs is success from the pocket. Yes, Rosen has past injury concerns, but he was, by far, the best QB from the pocket in this year’s draft. And while his mobility isn’t that of Jackson or Mayfield, this idea that he’s a statue like Kurt Warner or Carson Palmer is just not true. If he can stay healthy, he has the chance to be a truly special QB. And moving up 5 spots to get him by only giving up a 3rd and 5th, and thereby not mortgaging the future of the franchise, was one of the best moves of the draft.
Odell went to the pro bowl what is he talking about
Jackson is special. as a thrower, though, he only seems to be that way when there is some urgency to his game. he is great on 2nd read completions, ie as time runs out. when he can rely on his athletic gifts without having the time to over-think things, he does better, in other words. if a team could somehow build urgency into him as a passer - given that the monsters chasing him can't do it - then his development would be advanced.
i disagree. he goes through his reads and make great descisions. his only flaw is his narrow throwing base.
fair enough. maybe that narrow base contributes to the lack of urgency or casualness i detect.
i didn't see that
Josh Rosen looks just like Don Flamenco from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.
Big time Josh rosen got a arm
So Josh Allen and the bills don't exist.
really good analysis here.
Did Colin say that Baker can play quickly? When has he ever said that??? The only QB's he had on the play now tier were Rosen and Darnold? Are you sure about that Colin?
gingram2 he's always said baker can win with help
This was an absolute meat sandwich. Fantastic work from Bucky.
Rosen probably won't start 1st year. Why all this?
oh, and Bucky. come on, man. Favre was a gambler and so is Mayfield. one important difference is that Mayfield doesn't throw the interceptions! kind of a big caveat, don't you think?
He was fighting Jameis for INTERCEPTION KING last season!
Sam Will be a stud QB. Mayfield is my guy from my Sooners, but he has very capable traits and will be alright imo. Rosen will be solid. I think he will have injury issues and won't be amazing, but serviceable. Josh Allen has boom or bust potential. He's either a poor mans Big Ben, or Paxton Lynch.
I totally agree arizona got the best pick possible for them
Their better be a video about me today
Can’t even spell...
and me
Maybe I’m missing something, but who were these “veteran pass catchers” that Wentz and Goff had to throw to?
RedBubblyCheese alshon?
Schecter 7 that was my initial thought for Wentz, but he’s only been in the league for 5 years and he wasn’t in Philly when Wentz started.
Bucky stomach bubbling 0:06
Collin " I don't like Baker" Cowherd
LOL Baker is far superior to Taylor
playing quickly means nothing.
Boy were these two way wrong on baker.... Baker made the browns way better
More injuries on that Dallas D!
James Washington= next AB
i think Josh Rosen should be thankful not bitter that some teams passed on him .Browns still building needed more of a mobile qb for now,Giants my biggest gripe was the offensive line they did some things to repair that but still a ? .Jets i Cant recall the last successful qb something is wrong there not just qb problems. Broncos was a good spot but they went defense .The Colts dont think they need a qb even thou he cant stay healthy for a full season but nelson was a smart move.Bills he should send a Christmas card every year thanking them B.i.l.l.s (Boy I Love Losing Superbowls). niners just made a backup the highest paid qb ever .he is gonna thrive with the cards imo
A $20 million quarterback is like deodorant, cover the stink ahahahahahahaha
lol josh rosen
Always start these videos with hope he won’t say something about either the cowboys or pats and I always leave disappointed
Rosen is the next Sam Bradford. He's soft.
Steve Keim making excellent moves first bringing in Carson Palmer.. David Johnson in 3rd round, stole Chandler Jones, 3rd and 4th rounder for Josh Rosen
How's that worked out the last two years?
A Sidd 2016 they lost a lot of close games, but they were much better than their record. Last season their best player was hurt and palmer played only half the season
Yo boy Edges and lawrence taylor know what they are talking bout. We could have won the superbowl the year we went 7-8-1 we had the talent just tough schedule and had the worst luck not even kiddin we had the best defense and offense statically but still went 7-8-1 and last year palmer was done and david got injured, rams emerged. We wiffed on a qb last year and had a lot of oline injury along with some key defensive injurys
Keim has drafted extremely well and he hit an absolute grand slam drafting a franchise QB who will quickly become an elite top 5 to 10 QB, drafting an excellent extremely talented athletic/fast WR Christian Kirk & excellent Center prospect in 6"4/307pd Mason Cole. An Excellent explosive dynamic/athletic dual threat RB/WR 5"9 1/2 207pd Chase Edmonds who doubles as an excellent receiver route runner to pair with elite All-Pro David Johnson arguably the best in the NFL. Arizona's offense is going to be loaded this year, they upgraded their offense everywhere upgrading their O-Line into a top 10 unit along with guys getting healthy, they have an absolutely loaded upgraded WR unit with the receivers they brought in, excellent RB room that will gives an Arizona an Elite top 3 rushing offense with 3 backs who double as WR"s one who doubles as a truly elite #2 caliber WR in David Johnson. QB Room is Massively upgraded over Palmer/Stanton bringing in extremely accurate QB Sam Bradford who's a top 10 QB healthy though he might not even play with the drafting of the best most NFL ready QB in the draft in 6"4/226 QB Josh Rosen who will quickly become a top 5 to 10 NFL QB and Arizona has a good #2 backup QB in 6"6 Mike Glennon. Arizona's roster offensively has been massively upgraded since the season wrapped up in JAN, GM Steve Keim has done a FANTASTIC Masterful job rebuilding this offense so quickly in the space of 4 Months. And next off-season Arizona will have a rookie QB on a cheap rookie deal making peanuts with 100+ Million in cap space with which to stock up elite talent with to go on a longgg championship run with.
Well Bucky, it is mid December and Rosen is only better than one of those four chose in front of him. You might think about ignoring who is paying you and focus on your experience when making decisions about rookie quarterbacks. Colin set you up and you took the bait.
Rosen will not stop wilson
I thought Rosen was supposed to be smart? He seems like a whiney trust fund kid with a weird face. He said all picks ahead of him were mistakes, why would 49ers want another QB?
MistaTofMaine yea I like his idea but saying 9 teams when half didn’t take a qb is stupid.
It's not that he doesn't know that but by his confidence levels the kid seems to think he's gonna be a HOF so it would be a mistake not drafting him if that turns out to be the case
You know what he meant.....
I don’t get it. People say he doesn’t love football, he’s not motivated enough to be great but says something that disputes that and now we criticise him?
newrecruit100 people are soft
4years later 8 hours before the 2022 NFL draft and I'd say the bills and ravens won this draft
How does this guy have a sports show, his guest are better than he is.
Here from the future and this my friends is dead. Let alone aging well
