Community is everything to a game like this.
A sense of being part of something is gone. A sense of being part of a team is gone. Relationships between players are nothing more then one night stands in this new era. People have no reputations because there is none to be had. People used to know each other out in the world and that meant something. Drama was created for better or worse. When rolling a faction meant something because alliance had paladins and horde had shaman. Picking a race was also something that meant so much more then. It was almost like when you picked your faction and race you were born into it and there was no turning back after hit 60 you were that dedicated and that used to mean something.
Here are some of the issues i have had and that i think ruined the game. As far as the so called "enhancements"
Cross Realms
One of the bigger ones, this nearly diminished the sense of community. remove cross realm activity
Group Finder
I don't think this is a total loss and could be used only to your server. Or Create a chat room that is across all zones for specific encounters
Paid Faction, Race, Gender, appearance name change

I think blizzard can go back and release legacy realms and really do it right by implementing the changes that did not affect this type of issue. To make a small example it doesn't mean bring the bugs back.. the old water graphics among many other things that shouldn't be brought back. While minimizing efforts to create instanced environments just like before and encourage more server wide events like AQ to create competition between realms would be ideal.

This is what real devs think about vanilla wow. I bet a lot of current devs feels the same way but they are silenced by corporate greed.

Most of the millions ppl quit just because they cleared all content in previous expansions and they did it in wod in maybe 15 min :) It's not worth playing in northrend when you level through it in 10 min?!?

+gamwpanagia pristine servers, as i understand it, pristine would be the game as it is now/post cata just without the new features of extra expgain and LFG system. whilst legacy would be servers starting over from vanilla. legacy would revert the class systems/how you can dual spec and the changes after cata that was made to the battle system whilst pristine sounds like they just want to turn off the exp gain which gets people easier to lvl cap.

But its the truth, the game sucks. There isn't any point say anything different when subs are getting this low.
As I have said before, if they open up a legacy server I would resub my account after being dormant for the last 3 years.

Reading through most of the comments here, lets get a few things straight. We don't want vanilla because of the content or a nostalgia trip, we want it due to the overall mechanics and more importantly the social aspects that a vanilla server brings. Blizz vanilla servers would be only available to paid subs. They won't lose money due to cross content competition because those that want vanilla are not going to pay for expansions anyhow - they will however pony up a monthly sub. Give us progression servers and they will pony up to whatever expansion is on the table.

I signed and supported the movement, maybe instead of going after the blizzard, we should think about going after the shareholders. The ones that will be losing money left and right when the movement picks up a little more, once shareholders get get wind of what is happening and how this could benefit them, you will see how fast blizzard cracks.

Legacy servers would make me want to play both the Legacy and new content. I would get to play the new content when it is fresh and be able to relive the old content when I get bored of current content and vice versa.

Blizzard is so stubborn that they are avoiding offering legacy servers because they fear that their old content will surpass active player base in their new shitty content. #makeazerothgreatagain
+Ricardo Molina True, but I guess if they just added a server that you would have access to with the current subscription model, people would probably play both content (like when they're done raiding on one or have finished the content, they'd play on the other). At least that's the way I see it, I'm sure people would come back for legacy servers and also try the new content if they're given the occasion. WoD isn't great, but MoP was nice (imho) and who knows, Legion might be good.

I would literally quit everything in life if Blizzard makes this happen, I'd quit my job, quit my wife, quit my kids, and devote my existence to progression. I know that may sound extreme but its all easier for me cos I have no job, wife, or kids. Do it BLIZZARD DO IT.

I just wanted to come back and say thank you to Mark Kern for this petition. I have watched this video many times but this is my first time watching this video after they announced WoW Classic. Feels SO good, man. Thank you for being the voice for us when Twitch and UA-cam and Blizzard turned their backs on us. I appreciate you.
I've been playing on vanilla wow private servers for over 6 years now. Occasionally joined TBC servers, but always went back in the end.
Stop telling me this is only because of nostalgia or rose-tinted-glasses. Its not. The game is just so much more fun and never gets old.
