  • For this thrift flip, all you need is a button up shirt, and it doesn't even need to be very large. I used one that my younger brother outgrew, but you can find button ups in basically any thrift store! To be completely honest I wasn't totally sure if this was going to work, but I am kind of obsessed with the results! I've been attempting this project for 6 days now. I was at the part with the skirt. Once I was done sewing it, before the part with the darts, I realized it doesn't fit..too small 😢 but I have to admit it was fun.. and I will be going back to the thrift store to buy another mens shirt 😅 I think it was my fault since I jumped the gun and cut the sides of the shirt...then resewed them back... Therefore losing some more material 😢 well I definitely learned from my mistakes and I want to give this another go! This time I'll be looking for a flannel and it HAS to be at least a mens XL. But I'm proud of myself nonetheless. Thank you for the tutorial!

Oh, boy, what you could have done with my father's wonderful plaid flannel shirts! Dad loved red plaids of every kind, though he had gorgeous blue ones and green ones, too. I can easily see that you could have made an entire winter wardrobe of cute dresses for yourself!

In the Philippines, its always summer because of the hot weather lol so I guess this video is very perfect for a 15 year old like me to go and thrift my flannel top and make it as a pinafore. Thank you so much for the steps and tips!
