- Hey guys just a fun little install of my Kooks long tube headers for my Camaro ZL1! Finally got around to install them since they've been sitting in my garage forever haha! Enjoy and let me know what you think of them! Next video the car goes to the shop for tuning

Right on brother! Only thing to note is that not having that stock 'suitcase' muffler will be a problem at over 130mph (if you are in Mexico or on a road course). The stock suitcase muffler acts as a rear diffuser. I know 2 guys on track who had aftermarket exhausts on that had their bottom of the rear bumper twist due to the parachuting effect on track. They had to go back to the stock muffler box and all was well.
Sanjay R interesting! That’s good to know. My buddy said he felt that on his ZL1 when he did a muffler delete too but there’s no way I’m going back to that stock muffler lmao I don’t even have it anymore. If it twists it twists 😂

So I’m buying the same headers this spring and would like to do the install myself. I currently have an AWE track catback system but I’ve been reading that the AWE system is not going to mate up with the Catless pipes. It’s 1” - 2” short. Did you run into this issue?
Yeah just make sure you get the connection pipes with the headers then you’re good

Did your car run rough before the tune? I just installed mine, and it's running like crap.
Yeah ran a little rough but got it tuned pretty quickly
What was done to the exhaust before you did headers?
Was a tune required with the headers bro? And what all you running? Exhaust?
Where’d did u get ur exhaust tips? I was thinking about doing this on my 6 gen zl1... I have the stock npp, mufflers Catless and have 2” kooks headers installed

Nah. Runs better than stock

We’re you able to use the AWE links pipes? Or did you have to use some link pipes from Kooks?
Ryan Schmelzle I had the AWE link piped on but then bought the kooks link pipes with the headers just to make sure everything fit nicely. I think the AWE link pipes just match up to the stock headers

big Al well I went through 2 sets of wheels so that added a lot but without those only about 4,000

RAY ROMANICK kooks 1 7/8”, had them on my SS and had solid results, did you have any CEL issues with the resonator delete btw? I’d like to get that done as well.
@@nevrl4nd kooks is the way to go 😎 I had an issue where the AWE cutback didn't match up perfectly to where the old headers were on the driver side which threw an engine code since it was a slight leak near the cat. No real issues with it other than that. And now all of its gone so theres no issues after being tuned yesterday
