Lyrics:
Money’s got the medicine
You can’t believe in anything
I wanted what I’ve never had
You get it then it’s gone again
You wonder where the weather went
You’re sucking on a cigarette
And hell here comes the rain again
And heaven isn’t heaven sent
I don’t believe
I don’t believe you don’t believe me
I don’t believe you
Don’t believe it’s true
Life is short and God is gold
Promises are bought and sold
Everything I never said
Comes crashing on my tiny head
Nothing down here’s ever free
The same sun shines on you and me
And give me all your chemistry
And don’t believe it honestly
I don’t believe
I don’t believe you don’t believe me
I don’t believe you
Don’t believe it’s true
Money’s got the medicine
You can’t believe in anything
I wanted what I never had
You get it then it’s gone again
Life is short and God is gold
Promises are bought and sold
Everything I never said
Comes crashing on my tiny head
I don’t believe
I don’t believe you don’t believe me
I don’t believe you
Don’t believe it’s true
I don’t believe
I don’t believe you don’t believe me
I don’t believe
The drums on this song are stellar
Definitely a Furs song. Great chorus. Great lyrics. Great rythm platform. Wall of guitar /sax.
Richard's voice still one of the most distinctive ever.
Man, Richard’s voice is such a fine wine. It’s all there in this song, such a classic Furs track. Love it.
The heavy hitting drums, the deep sax in the background, the guitar riff, and those smokey vocals that never changed! I love this song! It has that Book of Days vibe going with a little bit of Valentine.
Nothing like book of days.... that was done to turn off the casuals really... dissonant and lacking any memorable melody. This at least, has a chorus
Is it 1980 ? ! 😎 over 40 years of brilliance. Sharp.
It's a new record from 2020.
It is
The Furs are back baby!!! There is no such thing as a bad Psychedelic Furs song, only ones I prefer over others.
I feel this is scientifically indisputable.
Without John Ashton in the band this is much more Butler Spit Butler than Psychedelic Furs. Having said that, I really like some of the Love Spit Love material (bloody awful name BTW!) and this is probably better than I would've expected from "The Psychedelic Furs" after a gap of 30 years.
Totally agree.
OH MY GOD I M SO EXCITED BY THIS....SO BEAUTIFUL ....COLD AS I LOVE....SO LONG I WAIT THAT...!!!!!!!!!
Roger THAT. Unmistakably unique. Their not subject to being easily copied.
I'm almost in tears!!! This is a gift to all who would receive it. Been too long, and welcome effing back 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just when you thought that no one could lift us out of the pandemic--HA! Who said there is no Easy Street?
This gives me hope for music. Long live the Psychedelic Furs!
Molly Ringwald will be dancing with Duckie, again... Amazing song Mr Butler... Detroit has always loved the Furs!!!!!!!! Horns are amazing!!!!!
pauly676767 i love this comment
...one of my favourite bands of the eighties - very good song, typically Furs - Richards voice is like good wine. Great theyre back! Love from Germany
I saw them last night at RADIO CITY, NY. Unbelievable! Richard's voice was pitch perfect. The production as gorgeous. I was in awe! They played three track from the new album and they were sublime, not a beat missed... you would never know that there had been a 30 year hiatus between albums. The Sax/Clarinet player! Holy shit! A perfect night. Then SQUEEZE came on... they were great! But tonally... the shift was acute and weird! Pair the FURS with THE CHAMELEONS, SHRIEKBACK, ROXY MUSIC, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN.. it was a weird shift. The FURS stole the night though! How could they not!
Talk Talk Talk will always be their masterpiece and stands as one of the best post-punk records of all time. Each Furs and LoSpLo record contains at least one of my favorite songs. I am excited to learn what new songs will become my new favorites. They have playing “Wrong Train” for well over a decade and it is pure magic. I am going to miss John Ashton’s guitar on Made o’ Rain, though Mr. Good is also an amazing guitarist.
A stunning comeback. His voice is ageless
Hi I recommend a song and video called 'Looking Into The Mirror' By Robert Nix
He's still got that voice and brilliant lyrics. I can't wait to see them at the Royal Albert Hall!
Taps back into the angry energy of President Gas - looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. I hope The Furs come back to The Ardmore Music Hall - literally the favorite place we've seen them
not casually like a storm like b4
Hell yes.....
Hi. I certainly hope they’ll come back to Ardmore Music Hall and/or The Colonial Theatre...Local MainLine Greetings :-)
At last, the 80's are back....Good song and still a great voice.
My favorite band ever. I had given up hope of a new album coming. I almost wanted to cry when I heard this. It's classic Furs and I love it!!!!!
Why did you give up hope? Oh, probably because anyone born during the year their last album came out is now 29 years old!
What're your guys fave albums? I really enjoy their last two a lot and especially how different they are from their 80's output.
@@davids2254 ALL of them! As stated below there are NO bad Furs songs, AND no bad Furs albums!
@@allthatmoneywants I saw them late last year in Toronto. Was a bit disappointed they only played the hits and that those hits were all a packed venue seemed to know or care to hear.
I did cry.....
About time! With New Order, The Cure and Depeche Mode still putting out new music, why not The Psychedelic Furs? I'll be buying the new album.
if all three bands toured together today (2020), I bet they'd sell tickets
@@Rampant_Colt That sounds like modern version of the 1989 New Order, P.I.L. and Sugarcubes tour. Good idea!
My new favorite Furs song!
Never thought they would record anything new after returning as a touring act some 20 years ago, but here it is and it’s like they never left. Very nicely done. Sounds unmistakably Furs, but different at the same time.
Well stated. I agree with you 100.
Jesus walked among the dinosaurs until lunch.
@@Pulse2AM -Then he recorded this...
A painter's view of NOW communicated through 80's music. Thank you!
Loving this!! Has elements of classic Furs and Love Spit Love. Nice surprise!!
Great! They're back! 'Nuff said.
Well, it's The Furs I know: sharp, swirling, angry. Gawd, I missed ya.
this takes me right back to 1981 and i wasn’t even alive yet
THIS may save 2020 for me.
2020 of Brazil
The fkn decade !! Buddy

Perfect.
@@andrewforster9665 Pretty Pleeeeeeeze!
Damn! This is so good! It feels like they haven't been away. I WISH they hadn't been away!
Rich's ethereal guitar sounds and Richard's milk-drenched voice sound like "heaven"
This has just made me buy tickets to see them at The Royal Albert Hall.
That must be something.I wonder how many holes it takes to fill The Albert Hall? Of course a yank like me has never been to Jolly Old England. saw the furs back in'81 in a small club in Sacramento CA.Richard Butler drank a beer during a sax break by Kilburne, near the end and he was just a few feet from me.
LUCKYYYYYY!
You lost your love, true love is in Grace. Believe God!
Drum track is awesome, guitar lines and tone is just, sick.
Excellent, love it on first listen. Appropriate for our times!
This isn't just a great comeback song for them, but it may be one of their best songs of all time!
Great to see these guys are still at it.
Been waiting patiently for 29 years...love this band !
Yeah Babyeee They are Definitely Back Awesome Song Dont Believe!!!!!!!
My ears are ringing very loudly right now. This album sounds so good cranked to eleven!
Such beautiful chaos
The hairs are raising on my Soul,, Yes the Psych Furs Are BACK !!!
Yessss! Sounds great!
It's like they picked up right where they left off. It sounds like classic PF, yet still sound current, which says more about the band.
I was really excited for new Furs music, but I must admit, I didn't think the quality of work would be his high! Way to go guys, hope this isn't the last album you make.
I agree with every word!!
Don't Believe Is A Great Straight Up Killer Rock Song By The Psychedelic Furs And Totally Rocks It Needs To Be Fully Cranked Up All The Way To Full Maximum Volume.
While i was expecting not to be so good, I'm pleasantly suprised. Very very good. Can't wait to hear the rest.
I used to be in band with Rich the guitarist back in his Surrey days. Great to see him doing this.
That's amazing! 😃
I literally can't believe I'm listening to this right now. Hell has truly frozen over
What a big and excellent surprise!!! And a very good track!
singer who paints ! 🤘🤘
Great to hear new music from them. Very solid new track.
Stunning return to form. Entire album is killer.
Brilliant. Looking forward to the rest of the new album.
Timeless! How stunning to find out that this was the Furs' new stuff...you could tell me this was early 80s and I'd believe you!
Hi I recommend a new indie song called 'Looking Into The Mirror' By Robert Nix
This is pretty good!
Amanda likely provides that female background voice... new twist there.
Way to go, FURS! This is a structurally snide, in-your-face creation that really gets one anticipating the musical mysteries awaiting in the rest of the album!! Great stuff! Thanks for working on all the fantastic material you're creating! We'll grab the new release in MAY, and see you near Boston!!
OMFG they're back? JESUS CHRIST! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
Richard’s voice is amazing and the whole album is absolutely brilliant , I enjoy every song on this album , thank you for this upload guys !!!
I was fortunate to see them in concert three times. The best concert of the three was at the Mesa Amphitheater, in the Phoenix metro area in the summer of 1987. We stayed at a Ramada Renaissance hotel adjacent to the amphitheater. The hotel stood maybe eight stories tall. We watched and listened from our sixth floor hotel window as the Furs did an hour-long soundcheck. We could hear and see very well. It's like we heard two concerts, one in the afternoon and the real one at night. The next morning Richard Butler and his brother Tim came into the tiny hotel gift shop where my friend and I happened to be. They seemed a little worn out from the night before, so we didn't bother them. I've never been a stargazer or autograph collector, but it was exciting just to be six or eight feet away from guys whose music to me was one of the best parts of the 1980s.
Add Florida tour dates! The smell of sea salt and the fresh warm breeze is great for your awesome voice
Waited so long on a hope a new album would come and here it is (well first single at least). Even without Ashton it's unmistakably the Furs. The thundering drums and sax dominate this track for sure. Lyrically its sooooooo Richard and borrows a bit from everything in the past - medicine, weather, cigarettes, rain, heaven and of course a good dose of cynical bite. My only hope (but I highly doubt it) is that there will be at least one slicker synth track on the LP.
This is new??? Holy shit , they are back !
Yes it's brand new 💄🕶👠
29 years
Full length album and it rocks people!
Love this song! One of my favorite bands of all time!!
first time listening to the furs loving this album so far everything about it it reminds me of a darker version of yellow days! i love it.
Beautiful Chaotic melancholy melody. I love it.
Well, this makes the quarintine lifestyle a bit easier with new music from these guys! Love the new tune!!
Thank God. A new furs album, just in time to save us all.
I'll listen to this heartbreak beat all night long...
So much YES!
This is just AMAZING! Can't wait until the full album. I saw the Furs at least 3 times "back in the day" and they ALWAYS put on an incredible show. They are very underrated as songwriters and musicians. Glad to see John Ashton back in the fold!
Great song! Love it!
Aah! Richard’s voice- unique and perfect.
Just the swirling melancholic sound I was expecting! Kudos. 👏 looking forward to the rest.
Great as ever. Can't wait to see them.
Love it. I saw them back in '97 and it was amazing. I'm so stoked over their new album. They are definitely one of my favorite bands ever.
Thank you Richard and Company for transporting me back to my youth in the most deliciously menacing way possible.
Dear Furs ... waited such a long time for a new record ... thanx the wait is over ... a fan since your first album ... saw you along with U2 (not as big then) in 1981 in Berlin ... awesome show ... you are still one of my favourite bands ... cheers from Berlin
This is something special! The Furs are back, and with a effing BANG!!! All those years and well worth waiting for!!! x
A vapourwave mix of this would be downright frightening.
🤯 Someone needs to make this a reality. Stat.
I don't believe is right. The Furs are back at such a crucial time in our world. Richard Butler is a gifted musician and artist. Check out his artwork- he is a master artist. Way to go, maybe we'll make it yet..Tj
Fantastic Furs!
Furs forever
Best band ever
Omg this 80s Band is back. It’s cool to hear 80s style in 2020.
Like it better than the old stuff, actually.
I was just listening to the Midnight to Midnight album on the way home from work. Am I dreaming?
Utterly superb
Love it, gets better with every listen.
strongest work yet
I was told by my ancient spirit guides that they had new music
Wow! this is impressive! pure Psychedelic Furs!
This track is absolutely awesome. Can't wait to hear the album. Love this band.
Just discovered and immediately fallen in love with this new Psychedelic Furs song. Epic!
Yes!!!!
The Furs have a new album! One of my top 5 bands in the 80's and I have never stopped listening. Playing "Heaven" or "Ghost in You" was always a great way to get a girl you fancied to dance, and perhaps, more with you. Go to songs. Can't wait to listen to the whole album.
Why can't music be like this now? Some bands/songs are close (nothing on the so called Pop charts...you really have to look for it) but there will never be a decade like the 80's. Was there junk then? Absolutely, in fact quite a lot, but you could turn it off, push in a tape and listen to great track after track after track and if it was a mix tape you could find yourself in audio heaven. Thank what ever dirty you may or may not believe in for Spotify.
Reminds me of his 90s project Love Spit Love
Haunting dark/ Yes, this is the Furs!
Shall be buying this on its first day, sounds awesome!
thank you
This feels very Book of Days to me. How will you remember all these evocative but challenging lyrics on tour? Fortunately the album and subsequent tour is going to knock it out of the park.
X Cess love Book of Days. Epic. Good call.
That was perhaps their best album ever, in my opinion.
Dean Nilvalli I think their first was the best
Love Book of Days and World Outside most after Talk Talk Talk
Loving the sound!!!!! absolutely lovely :) these are amazing news that they're releasing a new album, i am so very excited, long live the Furs!!!
luv luv luv
