Saw him at Kings Dominion, he was one song into his outdoor show, then it started to rain big time, everybody started to go and he said Hey where is everybody going we are going to do a show, so we all stayed and watched this man perform the BEST show ever in the rain,,, it was Amazing
I was 19 years old in 1984 and in the Navy when this song came out. It was #1 on the Billboard charts that year. Prince’s Purple Rain was big that year too.
Now THIS is how you do a reaction. Let the song play out so the audience can enjoy it, take it in and then give your thoughts in a structured breakdown. Brilliant.
Love your Reaction Videos, Liz...Not that I was a real big fan of Billy Ocean, but Caribbean Queen was a jukebox favorite, back in the day, you couldn't help hear a dozen times a night. We did a lot of Bar hopping back then and every Bar we went to had this song on their jukebox. I am not ashamed to say that, this Billy Ocean classic only gets better with time... This is a song that takes me right back to heat of the night, tearing up the dance floor back in 1985.
If you want to continue with another up-tempo Billy Ocean hit, try: "Get outta my dreams get into my Car).". His ballad "Suddenly" is another great tune, as is the upbeat "When the going gets tough (the tough get going)" from the soundtrack to the 1986 film "Jewel of the Nile." The video to that is cute and fun, with the stars of the movie (Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny De Vito) dancing to the song on stage with Billy.
It's always a good day when I get a notification from Lizzie The Gangster Hippie. When life is lifein' just give 100% and be satisfied (sleep well). When I was young, I complained to a friend of mine that I wish there were 48 hours a day because I had SO MUCH TO DO. My friend told me to be grateful that there was only 24 hours in a day. I instantly understood what he meant, and the weight (stress) miraculously dropped off my shoulders. Now I use the music reaction videos that you post to comfort me. Thank you, Lizzie.
Billy was a Hugh success in the 80’s, he even had a successful movie soundtrack recording, one of my favorite by him was LOVE ZONE, killer Bass line, GET INTO MY CAR, SUDDENLY Billy was hot in the 80’s
Love you girl! 🥰❤ So glad to see you doin' reaction videos a little more often now. Hope you are gettin'/stayin' healthy these days, this was a banger, take care!
Ok so I have some awesome requests for a reaction for Billy.. Def do Love Zone, bass lines, music production, vocals.. hittin! And then his ROCK pop hit Loverboy!
Great reaction Lizzie! Definitely was a banger in the clubs back then, and a #1 hit! Two of my favorites by him on opposite ends of the spectrum is the sweet and beautiful "Colour Of Love" contrasted by the sexy, sultry, delectably funky "Love Zone" (12" extended version) ! Everyone else got the most popular songs, so I threw in these gems I know you'll love too! You can't miss with Billy!
RICK JAMES - " WHEN LOVE HAS GONE " Music Masterpiece in my Opinion from the AMAZING Intro and the Cool way the Instruments were incorporated into the Incredible Heart felt Lyrics is Fantastic it's Engaging from begining to end plus an Epic Guitar 🎸 Solo by Rick James and Saxophone 🎷 throughout oh! and that Bass & Drums are The Jam. Highly recommend this one its just Awsome
Great reaction to the great Billie Ocean...Just great 😃👍 When you get time,I wanna see you react to Too Much Heaven by the Bee Gee's and also react to Michael McDonald singing I keep forgetting....Thank you and Keep on doing great musical 🎵 🎶 🎵 things 💯👍😊
This is the first time I've ever seen this video and it's completely forgettable. Not the vision that I expected, especially after hearing this song 90 billion times. Nights, his first hit, is the best uptempo. Love Zone is the best mid tempo. Suddenly is the best ballad. The rest is completely unbearable for me personally. However, I respect your judgment and am a fan of your reviews.

The dance floor exploded when this started to spin.

Memories of listening to my parents 80s cassettes in our van driving to Florida for summer vaca . Billie ocean man
I think my fave is When The Going Gets Tough....that's for when "life gets life-ing" 😉💚🎵🎶
This is one of the few songs you can listen to again and again and never get bored.

They played it every five minutes in the mid 80s on FM radio like you heard every hour for a year everywhere. But he does have a very sweet voice.

Seen him live in concert, he was good, awesome show yay, good review 👌😎👍

Always loved the energy of this one...and knew you'd like/love it.
Man when this song was playing in the club back in tha day...Look out!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🎆🎆🎆!
Epic mid 80s goodness.
His 70's early hit is a banger..Love Really Hurts Without You
Thank you, Liz!
Check out Billy Ocean's love ballad, " There'll Be Sad Songs ( To Make You Cry)".
You're the best there is. Love and respect from Stockholm, Sweden ♥️
SOOOOOO much better than the rap crap of today, This IS MUSIC.
Keep diving into Billy‘s ocean please.

GREAT SONG CHOICE!! 👏👏👏
A great song . From a special artist.
There's a longer Victoria's Secret remix that has a sax intro that I think would greatly improve the album version.
Super powerful voice
This was actually released twice with 2 different titles, African Queen and European Queen, before it was a hit as Carribbean Queen
Billy did a great colab on this with Daryl Hall
My favorite B.O. song is Loverboy.
"Life has been lifeing"!! I'm stealing that one LOL.
You've gotta listen to "Love Really Hurts Without You". Like someone already said it's a banger.
this was my roller-skating jam! omg in 4th grade couldn't get out on the rink fast enough😂 🎶 no more love on the run 🎶
“Suddenly”is fantastic. Please check it out. One of his best.

I can understand why Tonya from Everybody Hates Chris was crushing on Billy Ocean so hard. 🤣 That voice, and he is so handsome.
❤
Red light spell danger is my favourite Billy ocean song and you should check it out

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✌🏾
1981 reggae suggestion - "Beautiful Woman" by Toots And The Maytals.
Not the original radio mix… but the message sort of comes through nevertheless.
please make videos about 2 tone music, especially with the specials and madness, you'll be surprised with that............
Listen to Teena Marie out on a limb
I blame mtv.
Music was awesome until mtv industrialized music, "made for tv videos, gradually ruined the music as well

If you found this video unimaginative, then you must have loved his absolutely bonkers "Loverboy" video...
@Johnny_Socko I only like three of his songs on sound alone. I never need to see another video ever.
Great song. Video sucked.
