I legitimately failed the Elite 4 questionnaire twice because the towns and gym fights were all so forgettable that I honestly couldn't remember them... This game is such garbage that I needed to cheat on a test because I didn't remember a damn thing about it despite playing it all the way through in the span of a week... Adding onto that, the story was non-existent, the performance was bad, Dynamax was easily the worst gimmick ever put into a Pokemon game, the exploration was non-existent, the wild area sucked... In my opinion, there was nothing good about Sw/Sh aside from the fact "that it was a Pokemon game" and that's not nearly enough for me to give it a pass.
My biggest complaint is the crashes. I don't save every 2 minutes, so when the game inevitably crashes, I lose a bunch of time and lose track which pokemon I have and which ones I caught but didn't save. This made me put the game down and wait for bugs to be fixed in order to finish my first play through.
Literally didn't get this game because I found out you couldn't change out of that bummy uniform knowing now that they tried to turn around and sell you the missing feature I see I made the right call.

The biggest miss in this game is battle tower. The battle tower / tree etc gave a good post game challenge. You could use fun teams and the multi challenge with a friend was much fun. Now the only thing you can do after game is shiny hunt / online battle
no battle tower on release is CRAZY, on top of that the only double battle in the game is against ryme, which is fun sure. She's a cool character, but WHERES THE DAMN DOUBLE BATTLES
The way I see it, its a pretty good Pokémon game but only bc its Pokémon. If any other game had come out in this state it would have been on the list with Saints Row and Redfall. The Pokémon formula is so easy to win with that even fans can make great Pokémon games with no budget.

I would love for them to go back to 2D. Pokémon games haven’t been as good since the change and it’s been painfully obvious that GameFreak is not able to manage this series going forward as a 3D game.

Agreed 100%. Also the soundtracks for the towns do not compare to the older ones. Not even close. It sounds lifeless. You dont do missions for people in town either. The game isn't even bright all the colors look washed out and most places are very empty. It sounds and looks lifeless. Theres barely even a story. If both Scarlet and Violet were released in better condition, I would consider them 2 of the best Pokémon games ever made. Yea this game is the worst pokemon game I ever played. A few things you forgot to mention about the game: You can't rechallenge the Pokemon league once you beat it. You have to catch certain pokemon to gain material for tms which is really stupid compared to just having an unlimited amount like most of the previous installments. When you transfer pokemon from home the Pokemons entire moveset is replaced even if they can learn that same exact move in Scarlet and Violet. The school is boring ASF, terrilization is lame, the map is a pain in the butt to navigate through. There might be a light at the end of the tunnel though. According to gamefreak, they are hiring new employees and if they do well, they'll be permanently hired! However I'm still not preordering anymore pokemon games. I'm just gonna wait for reviews on future games first
oh god thanks for making this! I was genuinely surprised when I saw people praising it so much after its release date. It took me so long to even beat the elite four. Unfortunately I don't think Pokemon games are going to change because to game freak its quantity over quality. Good video!
The designs of some of the Pokémon is about the only credit I can give this game. Aside from Arven’s story being pretty good, the other two stories are basic. The ending was good, but all in all, everything is meh.

All bad things: 1. Trainer Battles are optional. 2. Games are still buggy and unoptimized after patches. 3. Still no voice acting or distinct text sound effects to give the illusion of talking. 4. Open-World and Gym Battles are completely static in terms of level scaling. 5. You are forced to be in a school uniform for most of the game. 6. Player character looks unreasonably young (i.e., like 7 or 8). 7. Environments and towns/cities are unfinished. 8. Nintendo 100% did not playtest the games properly or thoroughly enough compared to other exclusive Nintendo games. 9. Games sold very well even though they shipped broken (although, not sure if that accounts for people refunding physical copies or demanding and receiving refunds). 10. Pokémon battle system is still very unchanged aside from some new "quirks". 11. Nothing about the region screams Spain but may be due to the incomplete world. 12. The box legendaries feel like pseudo-legendaries or mythical Pokémon and are obtain very quickly yet are essentially just multiterrain vehicles ruining the trend that you can obtain a legendary Pokémon during your journey, not towards the very start.
Its not the bugs, glitches or the poor graphics which make this game shit. The game is shit because its shit. Imagine a pokemon game where you barely battle anyone, and challenging the gym leaders means you have to roll olives, or give someone back his wallet. And then its a dumb cutscene every 1 min making everything take ages. And when you finally face the elite 4, you have to take a test that you fail because you cant remember who the fuck the gym leaders are because everything is just so forgettable. And then once you beat the elite 4, you can never face them again. Its a stupid school tournament instead where everyone has rubbish pokemon and noone uses items or terrastalization properly. The open world SUCKS. I never spoke to anyone, there's nothing interesting and there is no dynamic levels. After I beat the Psychic gym, I was overleveled for the entire game. For the DLC I had to use new pokemon just to make it not too much of a brainless thing, and it still was. Because the minute you get Ogerpon, everything changes to level 55 - 65 meaning your new team of pokemon are useless. But your old team is still massively overleveled for everything else including blueberry academy. I've never played a pokemon game where I didn't even play pokemon. I just walked around, caught pokemon and walked some more from one cutscene to another. And every cutscene takes AGES. Holy shit man. Downloading a DS Emulator and playing Platinum or B/W is MILES better than this shit. The game is wack man. I only kept playing it because it cost me $79. That's AAAA game money.

I'm only gonna say Scarlet/Violet is a good game just so I can whoop you in smash, Jack. But truthfully, I do agree with the points made about the horrible frame-rate, the mechanics not being meant for open-world, and the world being so dead and being expressionless. (Btw f the intended level, I beat the Lurking Steel Titan as my 8th major thing done)
I haven't played smash in so long I'll probably get cooked 😂. There's just so many good games out for once right now that I gotta play before I go back to hating myself getting stomped on smash
More time wouldn't have saved this game. Everything brought up is evidences of Developers not caring how sloppy their work is. More competent developers could have delivered a better experience in the same amount of time.

It took until Indigo Disk DLC to be able to fully fly *but* only after you beat the main campaign. So that leaves flying around post game. Literally waste. This game had a ton of effort to make an open world Pokemon so lifeless. This proves that the Pokemon Company can produce turds and people will still buy it.
Hmm... its strange that I had the exact opposite opinion on the game. But have absolutely no objections to any of the points made. Personally I thought this was one of the better of the recent games. I only played it about a month ago (mainly since I said I was gonna skip it since sword and shield were so bad...) But personally I never experienced any real glitches. I did notice framerate issues, but its a switch game. So I was expecting that. But on the other hand, BoTW/ToTK looks amazing... so why does pokemon have trouble? I also liked how the gym order technically allowed the game to be harder. I went across the gyms way out of order. Here was my order based on the IGN list shown in the video: 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 5, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 17, 14, 12, 15, 10, 18, 16 Maybe I was fine cause I used many pokemon on my team, while avoiding trainers and not grinding. I used 15 pokemon on my team at any point. I liked the idea of going back to the gym leaders and seeing their dialogue in the post game... but they were way too easy, I basically swept every one of them. Though, If I were to rank all the gens, I would probably place scarlet/violet exactly in the middle.
I think SCAR/VIO are a step in the right direction, but also a huge step down for the franchise as a whole. like a shitty staircase, They keep going forward but also down.🤔

There is no excuse for what they're putting out these days, and each game they put out continues to show me how much they fluked with Pokemon as a concept because this game would have been dead on release were it any other franchise. And any game they try to make that isn't Pokemon flops instantly.
Man, I was hyped to play this game. It was fun ideas, but the development cycle is just too bad for this franchise. I literally given up on Pokemon, I already predict the DLC being just a bunch of bad cutscenes with scripted battles, tera battles aren't even fun, they flat out don't work I'll MAYBE try a johto remake if they make one, other than that I'm DONE.

Actually no😅 I don't see myself playing it anytime soon either tbh. I love Pokémon but I hate gamefreak. I must avoid being a poketuber at all costs. That being said, 2 more pokemon videos are for sure on the way.
Emerald, and Generations 4 and 5 are the best. They at least play great, and tried to add as much as they could. Anime graphics should have been used in any Japan-based video game for better potential for smooth gameplay, stable physics, and plenty of content. The characters should look appealing, even being sex dimorphic with sex-locked clothes and hair. The arching head and tall eyes design is the best in making characters look cute. The school setting contradicts the open-world setting and theme that the schools work in the old Pokémon games since the schools are just minor places you can visit like they are training modes. All the routes and cities open is how you can make an open-world video game while still having some linear elements like with the gyms you can only get in based on how many badges you have. The Exp. Share should be an option to level up Pokémon evenly, and just over-level the different ID Pokémon. Abilities no longer work in the overworld, which takes away the Pokémon-getting variety. Now we are back to how the Abilities work in RS and FRLG. Despite Game Freak being so lazy in copying the Pokémon models and moves from the 3DS games, they did not try and copy the male and female models to change the hair, eyes, and clothes as a way to create new characters. I heard that making ugly characters is hard to do because they waste memory size. Inti Creates, M2, Arika, and Code Mystics can probably make Pokémon games better-especially with anime graphics that would allow potential for the Regional PokéDex, National PokéDex, Abilities working in and out of battles, sex dimorphic characters, sex-locked clothes and hairstyles, overworld Pokémon, Loto-ID, rematches, Battle Frontier, reusable TMs, TRs, HMs, arcades, farming, and others. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the worst in the series for being ugly and broken, as well as being porikore as the Japanese say.
Love how it took to gen 7 for people to appreciate gen 5. The dex wasn’t better than gens 1-4 but it is far better than everything after it. It’s even the last gen where Gamefreak make the starters animals like (A Snake/Demon Pig/ 4 legged Samurai Seal lion) instead of the human furries we’ve been getting since Kalos💀
@@a.x.x8184 ORAS are truly the last Pokémon games to have all of the existing Pokémon at the time to be usable, and have PokéDex entries. I am fine with completing the Regional PokéDex. The National PokéDex should come back as an extra at least. It really sucks that the Illusionary Pokémon would be losing their entries, even if getting the said Pokémon is not required.
This game was good for what it is. I really enjoy it for the fact that it's open world and alot of pokemon. They didn't add to many things to do which i would like in the next one. Ive ran into bugs and raid crashes. Hasn't stopped me from playin. Im not to harsh on this first release because its one attempt against all the years they've had to work at the other styles. Dlc isn't exclusive to pokemon so that's not a big deal. They should've kept some legends mechanics. Pokemon attacking or running away is better than them jus sittin around. give pokemon things to do in the environment. Get rid of gliding. Both games it was wack. Let us fly they literally give you the ability to do so with all the check points. Again first attempt. I think next one will be way better
The Gym Leaders are better in Sw/Sh than no one in Paldea. The Elite 4 are also really bad from a creative standpoint (especially when Larry is also one while being a Gym Leader? That seems like they had no time to make a proper 4th member.) also, not to be rude, but Iono is the ONLY memorable and good Gym Leader because she got legit hype with her trailers. Larry is the one Gym Leader I don’t get the hype for him when he’s the Squidward of the franchise who should never be a Gym Leader because it’s obvious he hates his job. I don’t think a franchise like Pokémon needs a “SQUIDWARD” type character in a reality like this.
I really liked Iono and Mela initially, until I realized they did basically nothing in the actual game. Also I think the hype for Larry (and squidward) is because of the older fan base of pokemon, even though its a kid's franchise it's been around a long time now, we all eventually become a Larry irl and therefore we relate to him. 12. The box legendaries feel like pseudo-legendaries or mythical Pokémon and are obtain very quickly yet are essentially just multiterrain vehicles ruining the trend that you can obtain a legendary Pokémon during your journey, not towards the very start.

Pokémon scarlet and violet are the worst games in the franchise IMO and this is coming from someone who’s been a lifelong Pokémon fan.
Its not the bugs, glitches or the poor graphics which make this game shit. The game is shit because its shit. Imagine a pokemon game where you barely battle anyone, and challenging the gym leaders means you have to roll olives, or give someone back his wallet. And then its a dumb cutscene every 1 min making everything take ages. And when you finally face the elite 4, you have to take a test that you fail because you cant remember who the fuck the gym leaders are because everything is just so forgettable. And then once you beat the elite 4, you can never face them again. Its a stupid school tournament instead where everyone has rubbish pokemon and noone uses items or terrastalization properly.
The open world SUCKS. I never spoke to anyone, there's nothing interesting and there is no dynamic levels. After I beat the Psychic gym, I was overleveled for the entire game. For the DLC I had to use new pokemon just to make it not too much of a brainless thing, and it still was. Because the minute you get Ogerpon, everything changes to level 55 - 65 meaning your new team of pokemon are useless. But your old team is still massively overleveled for everything else including blueberry academy.
I've never played a pokemon game where I didn't even play pokemon. I just walked around, caught pokemon and walked some more from one cutscene to another. And every cutscene takes AGES. Holy shit man. Downloading a DS Emulator and playing Platinum or B/W is MILES better than this shit.
The game is wack man. I only kept playing it because it cost me $79. That's AAAA game money.

I'm only gonna say Scarlet/Violet is a good game just so I can whoop you in smash, Jack. But truthfully, I do agree with the points made about the horrible frame-rate, the mechanics not being meant for open-world, and the world being so dead and being expressionless. (Btw f the intended level, I beat the Lurking Steel Titan as my 8th major thing done)
I haven't played smash in so long I'll probably get cooked 😂. There's just so many good games out for once right now that I gotta play before I go back to hating myself getting stomped on smash

40 BUCKS TO FLY?? I’ll find out pretty soon. I bought the DLC (unfortunately) and I’m playing through it to write some scathing reviews if I’m disappointed.
It took until Indigo Disk DLC to be able to fully fly *but* only after you beat the main campaign. So that leaves flying around post game. Literally waste.
This game had a ton of effort to make an open world Pokemon so lifeless. This proves that the Pokemon Company can produce turds and people will still buy it.

Hmm... its strange that I had the exact opposite opinion on the game. But have absolutely no objections to any of the points made.
Personally I thought this was one of the better of the recent games. I only played it about a month ago (mainly since I said I was gonna skip it since sword and shield were so bad...)
But personally I never experienced any real glitches. I did notice framerate issues, but its a switch game. So I was expecting that.
But on the other hand, BoTW/ToTK looks amazing... so why does pokemon have trouble?
I also liked how the gym order technically allowed the game to be harder. I went across the gyms way out of order.
Here was my order based on the IGN list shown in the video:
1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 5, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 17, 14, 12, 15, 10, 18, 16
Maybe I was fine cause I used many pokemon on my team, while avoiding trainers and not grinding. I used 15 pokemon on my team at any point.
I liked the idea of going back to the gym leaders and seeing their dialogue in the post game... but they were way too easy, I basically swept every one of them.
Though, If I were to rank all the gens, I would probably place scarlet/violet exactly in the middle.
I think SCAR/VIO are a step in the right direction, but also a huge step down for the franchise as a whole. like a shitty staircase, They keep going forward but also down.🤔
@@galacticjack It had ambition that's wasted in the hands of talentless devs. I found a video with 2 brothers that produced better results in a week than what Gamefreak spent 3 years on. There is no excuse for what they're putting out these days, and each game they put out continues to show me how much they fluked with Pokemon as a concept because this game would have been dead on release were it any other franchise. And any game they try to make that isn't Pokemon flops instantly.

It was fun ideas, but the development cycle is just too bad for this franchise. I literally given up on Pokemon, I already predict the DLC being just a bunch of bad cutscenes with scripted battles, tera battles aren't even fun, they flat out don't work

Emerald, and Generations 4 and 5 are the best. They at least play great, and tried to add as much as they could.
Anime graphics should have been used in any Japan-based video game for better potential for smooth gameplay, stable physics, and plenty of content. The characters should look appealing, even being sex dimorphic with sex-locked clothes and hair. The arching head and tall eyes design is the best in making characters look cute.
The school setting contradicts the open-world setting and theme that the schools work in the old Pokémon games since the schools are just minor places you can visit like they are training modes. All the routes and cities open is how you can make an open-world video game while still having some linear elements like with the gyms you can only get in based on how many badges you have.
The Exp. Share should be an option to level up Pokémon evenly, and just over-level the different ID Pokémon.
Abilities no longer work in the overworld, which takes away the Pokémon-getting variety. Now we are back to how the Abilities work in RS and FRLG.
Despite Game Freak being so lazy in copying the Pokémon models and moves from the 3DS games, they did not try and copy the male and female models to change the hair, eyes, and clothes as a way to create new characters. I heard that making ugly characters is hard to do because they waste memory size.
Inti Creates, M2, Arika, and Code Mystics can probably make Pokémon games better-especially with anime graphics that would allow potential for the Regional PokéDex, National PokéDex, Abilities working in and out of battles, sex dimorphic characters, sex-locked clothes and hairstyles, overworld Pokémon, Loto-ID, rematches, Battle Frontier, reusable TMs, TRs, HMs, arcades, farming, and others.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the worst in the series for being ugly and broken, as well as being porikore as the Japanese say.

Love how it took to gen 7 for people to appreciate gen 5. The dex wasn’t better than gens 1-4 but it is far better than everything after it. @@a.x.x8184 ORAS are truly the last Pokémon games to have all of the existing Pokémon at the time to be usable, and have PokéDex entries. I am fine with completing the Regional PokéDex. The National PokéDex should come back as an extra at least. It really sucks that the Illusionary Pokémon would be losing their entries, even if getting the said Pokémon is not required.
This game was good for what it is. I really enjoy it for the fact that it's open world and alot of pokemon. They didn't add to many things to do which i would like in the next one. Ive ran into bugs and raid crashes. Hasn't stopped me from playin. Im not to harsh on this first release because its one attempt against all the years they've had to work at the other styles. Dlc isn't exclusive to pokemon so that's not a big deal. They should've kept some legends mechanics. Pokemon attacking or running away is better than them jus sittin around. give pokemon things to do in the environment. Get rid of gliding. Both games it was wack. Let us fly they literally give you the ability to do so with all the check points. Again first attempt. I think next one will be way better

The Gym Leaders are better in Sw/Sh than no one in Paldea. The Elite 4 are also really bad from a creative standpoint (especially when Larry is also one while being a Gym Leader? That seems like they had no time to make a proper 4th member.) also, not to be rude, but Iono is the ONLY memorable and good Gym Leader because she got legit hype with her trailers. Larry is the one Gym Leader I don’t get the hype for him when he’s the Squidward of the franchise who should never be a Gym Leader because it’s obvious he hates his job. I don’t think a franchise like Pokémon needs a “SQUIDWARD” type character in a reality like this.
I really liked Iono and Mela initially, until I realized they did basically nothing in the actual game. Also I think the hype for Larry (and squidward) is because of the older fan base of pokemon, even though its a kid's franchise it's been around a long time now, we all eventually become a Larry irl and therefore we relate to him. Even with that being said, why the fuck does he get so much attention in game LOL
