Hey to be fair to Minnesota (and in turn the Raiders), their defense is 2nd (!) in DVOA since week 7 or 8 I think. So while they're mediocre overall, the defense is really good. But yes, still one of the worst losses in NFL history.
Uh, me too. The Chargers players literally looked completely disinetrested. That lack of effort is on a coach. Chargers looked like the were playing a scrimmage.
This looked and felt different to the Broncos 70 point beat down. The Broncos looked out matched, overwhelmed, they were just getting out played by a superior team. The Chargers looked like they had given up before the first snap, like they weren't even trying, hugging instead of tackling, going half speed, moving aside on blocking assignments, blowing coverage' etc. This was a protest by the Chargers rosters, they had to have been below rock bottom. Ex-NFL players brought up an interesting point, their poor plays last night are on tape forever and players never EVER want to put bad plays on tape if they can avoid it. So to do this means they were way past frustrated with Staley.
And look how that panned out ...Denver has been on a roll 😂 and Miami had many hiccups....this was more defining.. Week 1-Week 14 is what made you. I thought it was me but man The raiders looked like they were on sum good ish last night 😂 looked way faster...I was like damn my guys have wheels what happened this year 😢😮

My father personally knew Alex Spanos (he was the man that bought the Chargers when they were in San Diego) and as my father knew him I knew his kids... (They're about 5 years older than me). They’ve pretty much wasted the rookie contract for the QB. The only surprise is that this wasn’t done last offseason. This team should have at least been defensively strong the last 2-3 years but wasn’t. Probably going to turn over most, if not all, the staff this offseason. The cap is going to be hard to deal with too.

And I don’t predict personnel changes a lot but when we all know it was happening at the end of the season, is it shocking that the timetable was moved up a few games by such a blowout and such a demonstration by the team of quitting?
I literally turned my back on the TV twice for 2 seconds and missed TD's. What's amazing is that neither team had been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but one team went for the throat, while the other one was a bunch of guys making business decisions. The Chargers once again folded when they could have effectively ended the Raiders season, but instead, they made the best case not to wait another 3 weeks to fire their coach.

I am not shocked at all. That performance was absolutely pathetic. I was away from the game for... half of the first quarter and I came back to 24 - 0 and I was wondering "WTF JUST HAPPENED?!" Brandon Staley lost the Chargers a while ago, I didn't think it was this bad. Justin Herbert deserves better than this.
I'd say it probably couldn't happen to a more deserving coach. I was so sick of Staley's lame comments after so many close losses, a big loss like this debacle and failures again and again. He said insulting BS like "it was just one of those times when nothing went right" or "i have full confidence in our schemes and my coaching ability" from a "defensive genius" whose defense has been a bad joke much of the time. More than anything, it was Staley's delusional comments that made me want to retch. He didn't deserve the job and finally gets cut loose from it.

Sometimes I feel like Rich is paid by the NFL simply to smooth out bad looks. The Chargers didn’t fire Staley because they have a better chance with an interim, they fired Staley because the locker room gave up on him, and the owners aren’t going to trot out an effectively striking team two games in a row. Its bad for the product, and it’s bad for the fan base
San Diego here - it seemed with the players and $$$ the Chargers got from moving out of here, it may have been what the owners needed to finally win. But we really knew better. Rivers - sorry, at least Brees escaped the Chargers orbit.

That performance was absolutely pathetic. I was away from the game for... half of the first quarter and I came back to 24 - 0 and I was wondering "WTF JUST HAPPENED?!" Brandon Staley lost the Chargers a while ago, I didn't think it was this bad. Justin Herbert deserves better than this.

I'd say it probably couldn't happen to a more deserving coach. I was so sick of Staley's lame comments after so many close losses, a big loss like this debacle and failures again and again. He said insulting BS like "it was just one of those times when nothing went right" or "i have full confidence in our schemes and my coaching ability" from a "defensive genius" whose defense has been a bad joke much of the time. More than anything, it was Staley's delusional comments that made me want to retch. He didn't deserve the job and finally gets cut loose from it.
