  • Its important to note that this will only work in a non-electrified hose. Do not cut into a hose that has electrical running through it.

You also need to seal it with rubber cement inside where the hose meets the connector stop. That's to pervent suction leaks.

Sometimes those hoses unscrew easily, it depends on the manufacturer. I repair a lot of different cleaning equipment and Sometimes find the hose not only screw into the collar but also glued on with epoxy, especially on wet-vacs and larger floor scrubber/vacuum combo that you ride in.

Got a great bissell pet hair eraser machine I found some spares for so everything good but the hose that's gone at the points of most flex. Determined to keep using it as it out- sucks my other vacuums (Sharks that also have hose issues at the moment). Hard to find spares (but did find a body that was about to be thrown away that had useful spares such as the nozzle head and filter trays).
Your video has given me the confidence to be a bit rough on things to get it sorted. Funny how a good appliance can be the subject of obsession but perhaps it's about respecting quality and giving things another try.
    Cheers from NZ

Worked like a charm but found it was twin-wired which meant cutting the two wires at 180 degrees from each other before screwing back into mount. Also tweaked the end of each wire up and out a bit just so they grabbed the thread when starting off. Maybe a useful tip for someone reading this, if so, cheers to you too.

Could I put a layer or two of FlexSeal on that if it's just a couple of holes, not thread bare like that?
I'm trying to fix one to a shampooer, and it has the little one threaded inside the big vacuum hose, coming out of a different hole in the cuff. I'm not sure it will go back together if i take both out of the plastic thingy. It looks pretty tight, maybe molded in, not to be disconnected...?
I hope this makes sense, any advice would be appreciated.

    • @hanksgarage_

It will work on either end so long as you can make it work. Some of the ends aren’t just screwed on but may be molded onto it. Depends on the vacuum.

Worked for Electrolux Oxygen. However, my machine had 2 wires embedded in the hose in the socket that had to be cut to get the hose out. That meant that the carpet head would not be able to vibrate on operation. But will just have to use the hardwood floor head instead.
