- Its important to note that this will only work in a non-electrified hose. Do not cut into a hose that has electrical running through it.

I am 70, female(husband's pic) and want to thank you so much! I fixed it all by myself thanks to your wonderful instructions...I am grateful...Bless you...keep it up!
Thank you for a simple easy to follow video. Didn't know for certain that the hose could be screwed in.
TY SO MUCH! After about 2.3-3 years of taping and then just leaving the vacuum cleaner in the closet, I just fixed both ends! You are a Prince!
Thank you, worked perfectly! Didn’t know this was possible, I’d been using duct tape for half a year and it did not work well. This took me 15 mins and it’s like new.
Thank You!
It’s taken me 10 minutes to fix my favourite vacuum.
Mate, this was a life saver, really helped and actually was so easy, been putting this job off for over 2 months, saw this video and all done in about 15 minutes, can't thank you enough !!!!!!
I’ve watched a dozen of these trying to find the best way to fix this vacuum and Hank!!! Hands down this was the simplest and easiest way to fix a vacuum hose. Thank you for your insight! I also appreciated that extra knowledge on inspecting the hose to make sure it’s even repairable. 👍🏼😁
I love UA-cam! Thank you so much for taking the time to show how to do this, even though you're scrapping your vacuum cleaner. I have literally repaired mine exactly as you did, even to the unwinding of the cord as it was stuck. Saved hours of searching Ebay for old spare part. Thanks again.
Very good. I like the part about just pulling the wire/hose out of the attachment thingy. A little better than another video's technique.
Thank you for helping to save my old vacuum! I thought I was out of luck since I couldn't find a replacement hose for my model. But with a break right near the end, this tip did the trick!
Thanks for the video, worked perfectly. Mine was glued in so wouldn’t unscrew. Tearing it out was the best way!
Thank you very much for putting this up. The trick of tearing out the remainder of the old hose is a good one.
This worked for me. Thank you very much. I have an old Hoover cordless vacuum cleaner that I could not find a replacement hose for. Fortunately the tear was on the very end just like the one in your video, so I could do exactly what you did here.
Very good video Hank, I've done a lot of these with hose cuffs wand and machine ends. Making up long hoses for my Lux and Royal tank vacuums. Reused many discarded hoses and cuffs.
such an easy fix! and i was worrying where would i find a replacement hose for my old vacuum. thank you so much!
Wow. I wanna say thank you thank you thank you. Watching this video just saved me from buying a new hose …. You’re a lifesaver my hubby ordered part lol I said to him who is the part for cause it’s not for my vacuum is fixed lol Joking lol
Thank you! That was simpler than I thought. Just fixed my vacuum hose after watching this. Thanks again and best wishes.
Holy cow! Thanks for posting this. Just fixed my Bissell Powerforce Helix today after watching this video!
So simple and brilliant. Thank you for the tip!
Wow, so simple and easy. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this!! Thought I was going to have to replace the vacuum, but this was an easy fix!
Wow. This is a life saver. I was about to buy a new one if I couldn't get a new hose but you saved me. Although mine can't be screwed but it can hold and I can use it again. I jut probably need to buy something to tape it.
Thank you!!! It works and saved me money. I almost cried cuz I’m broke 😭 and my vacuum was a hand me down. Has to be at least 15 years old. Thank you!!!!
It worked!!! Thank you!!! I was just about to purchase one online and thought I'd search UA-cam first.
👍 Tells us what we need to know without making an overly long video
Thanks for posting this. It was really helpful!
🙏🙏🙏🙏 bless you for this video! Trying this tomorrow ❤
Yep. I have an early 1970s Montgomery Ward Canister Vac which I salvaged in 1976 and will not give up on. It still has all its might. Most canister bags, as different as some can be, will fit. The hose could use some work as you described. Thanks!!
Thank you for your video. I almost ordered a new hose($64.00). You are a life saver
Great video. Fixed mine in minutes.
This is perfect advice. My Eureka Airspeed has a tear right at the end and I have to use a hand vacuum for stairs, hard to reach places, etc. In the future, I could use this.
Very good advise ,wish I had seen this earlier could have saved some money 💲 by just fixing it and not paying out for a new one 🙄
Thank you for the helpful video! You saved me $28.99.
Thanks for the info just fixed my old kenmore
thank you !!! I just fixed the nozzle to the vacuum after watching your video !!!
Thanks for the video. Fixed my hose and saved £35
Get even more life out of your vacuum hose if after you do this: After you do this easy fix, add a few twists of electricians' or duct tape to the stress point (by the connector where the hose broke the first time). Reinforce the stress point.
Thank you for this. Simple and straight to the point.
Thanks Hank. I haven't tried it yet, but I have multiple HVLP Spray Paint Guns with similar air hoses that always end up bleeding at the housing / connector to the gun. Hoping it will work on those. Thanks for the simple and easy instructions. Victoria ;-)
Just be aware some Hoses have a wire running through them to take power to power attachments, so you can't just cut and rejoin those types.
Great quick instructional video! Thank you!
Got a great bissell pet hair eraser machine I found some spares for so everything good but the hose that's gone at the points of most flex. Determined to keep using it as it out- sucks my other vacuums (Sharks that also have hose issues at the moment). Hard to find spares (but did find a body that was about to be thrown away that had useful spares such as the nozzle head and filter trays).
Your video has given me the confidence to be a bit rough on things to get it sorted. Funny how a good appliance can be the subject of obsession but perhaps it's about respecting quality and giving things another try.
Cheers from NZ
Worked like a charm but found it was twin-wired which meant cutting the two wires at 180 degrees from each other before screwing back into mount. Also tweaked the end of each wire up and out a bit just so they grabbed the thread when starting off. Maybe a useful tip for someone reading this, if so, cheers to you too.
Wow, Thank you. I didn’t know I could do that.
I’ve gone through five rolls of tape. Lol
Thank you Hank! So easy. Thanks for an easy to follow description....
Thank you for this video. I’ve been glueing mine with a plastic glue and it’s been OK for about 10 uses and then it cracks again the glue comes loose. I’m gonna try your tip now. If it continues to crack, I will buy a new one.
Wow this is fantastic! So simple Thank you ❤
Thanks so much! This really helped. I had no idea it was so easy.
perfect!!! I straight up teared up the whole thing and put hose right back in. I will have to buy some glue but for the moment the thing works perfectly!!! NO TOOLS!
You kidding me after 38 years that’s allll I had to dooo 😂😂 thanks for sharing we appreciate it
THANK YOU SO MUCH ...
You saved me some big money ! So simple of a fix tooo.
Thank you so much now i can fix our vacuum hoss cleaner now’
thank you so much something i would normally be grab the tape and repair it but your video save me alot
I was about to take this new hose back to Home Depot then i realized it just came unscrewed thanks to this video 😂
Nice - exactly the repair i was looking for - i'll be trying this out ASAP
I've fixed vac.hoses that way. Most of the time the broken piece can be unscrew off the same way the good part can be screwed on.
Super awesome video, it seems so simple and yet I wouldn’t have ever thought about doing this , my vacuum hose just broke on me and I’m lost without my vacuum having 2 small children and 2 cats I MUST have a vacuum lol, anyway thanks for the fantastic tip, I can make this stretch a little longer before I have to buy a new one
This is great! I can't get replacement part for my Panasonic vacuum anymore.
Thanks, I searched for u tube but most of the hoses connections are by two tabs which my one does not have. I ll try this method tomorrow. Thanks in advance
Thank you this was a easy fix for me again thank you for the video 😊
Worked for Electrolux Oxygen. However, my machine had 2 wires embedded in the hose in the socket that had to be cut to get the hose out. That meant that the carpet head would not be able to vibrate on operation. But will just have to use the hardwood floor head instead.
Getin!! After 5years of gorilla tape and sighs of 😤😤😫😫 I now have a proper hose well chuffed thankyou! Oh I have a vax and it’s like when you get to the end of taking the broken bit out of the connector..they must of siliconed and super glued that right in there, so I took my needle nose pliers and started twisting it around them (I just couldn’t do the last bit by hand at all) came out so easily after that 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you,I’m going to try this tomorrow.❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
you saved my morning, thanks.

lol
Thanks Hank! Worked like a charm for me as well.
Thanks so much from Bali paradise island 🏝️🏝️🏝️
Thanks dude! You just saved me time and money! 😀
Well well, nice one! Didn't know you could do that 👍
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! Before I watched this, I thought the hose was glued in the handle. Then my husband tried unscrewing it.. I started sweating watching him, certain he was going to break the plastic end piece an second. That's when I started frantically googling for a solution. It was like the clouds parted & the sun came out when I seen your video: )Good job on this little video. It was short, to the point & extremely helpful. 🤩
Awesome tip! Thank you!
Worked like a charm on a kinked Bissell hose.
Worked perfectly! Thank you so much
Doesn't work for a hoover steamvac. Can't shorten the hose as it's a 90 degree turn into the end cap. Barely long enough, bad original design. Tried multiple layers of aluminum foil tape with no luck. Will have to go back to duct tape. There is a water supply line that runs inside for the attachments. Otherwise, will try and find another longer same diameter section and splice it in 8 inches up. Hose has been discontinued from hoover.
Thank you very much❤ you are a life saver.
Still works in 2024....Thanks.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing. 👍 😊
Interesting. My lower hose on a shark is cracked. The upper connecter for that hose is integrated into the canister and they don't sell spare parts.
Do you think a Beam Rugmaster Hose would be repaired similarly?
Love this vacuum!
Will this method work for a Hoover Widepath using water?? I’m thinking prob. not..
Saved me moneyyyy....thank youuuu !!!
What if the tear is in the middle of the hose? Then your repair would literally cut the hose length in half. But great fix idea if the tear is near the end. Thx for the tip..
Yes. That’s where common sense comes in. These hoses break like this at stress points which most of the time is at either end.
Hi Hank, my vacuum hose broke too, but it came off at the actual piece that connects to the wand part at the top closest to the actual vacuum motor. I have the hoover cats and dog turbo model. How do I fix this so it will reconnect inside the wand I cant seem to get the inside part of the hose which snapped off inside the wand, it must be glued down. Any advice? The place i bought it has shut down all shops.
Thank you, it worked a treat on my Vax lift off 👍
Good Job .
شكرا بجد استفدت جدا 🌹🌹🌹
Good video but if you have the long sweeping hard plastic gooseneck that the hose goes into your out of luck.
Thank you you have been really helpful
Glad it helped
What if you can’t access the hose ends? Mine is only 3 inches visible of cord where it’s ripped open on our shark vac
Tnx, good to know it can be done.
Thank you. Can you replace an Atrix backpack hose? I would love to know if that is possible without buying the new hose.
Thank you....big big thank you
OMG, is that easy? I almost buy the new one, thanks bro
Hi! Does this DIY fix it apply to with end of the vacuum hose? The part that goes into the machine and the part that goes into the vacuum head?🤷🏼♀️🤞🏼🙏🏼
It will work on either end so long as you can make it work. Some of the ends aren’t just screwed on but may be molded onto it. Depends on the vacuum.
It works! Thanks man.
Thank you sir ! 😀
Grazie! Consiglio molto utile❤
Thank you!
It worked 😊Thank you!
This is great when you're a youngish person who doesn't have arthritis in both hands, but for we old bats it's not going to be so easy.
It could be worse, you could be blind too
