Being on a vacation while your child is in a hospital, dying and begging for you, is one of the worst things someone can do. It's one of those black and white things. If you have the heart (or lack of it) to do that to your own child, you are irredeemable imo. People go to huge lenghts for the health of their pets, and there are "parents" who would do this. Poor girl :(

@@amilasrsly Even if she was, a child's well being goes over the parent's imo. Parents should take care of themselves, but if your kid is literally dying, there aren't really things more important than that.

@@Mila28.06 Of course, but I could see a person panic-denying facts and just not acknowledging them at all. It could have been something other than just callousness, is what I’m saying. People do lose their wits over something so horrific as horrible illness or death of a child.

And I also say the company kind of brought it on themselves by making their entire business model a scam AND on top of it being dumb enough to not have IT people available at 7 PM when the girl made it clear that's when the glitch happened. Like, really. That stupidity is why the girl was able to do this in the first place. It's as stupid as leaving your front door unlocked when you go on vacation and being all shocked pikachu face if you get home to find your entire house robbed. And I say vacation because this isn't like momentarily forgetting to unlock the door on an errand and coming right back. (in which a robber would still have to stake out the place for days hoping for an opportunity and/or act on impulse). And this isn't a personal boundary either (where anyone should know better than to barge in regardless of how exposed said person might be because people aren't property and can always make clear whether there's an actual invitation or not). This is more like putting up a bigass sign saying "Please rob me now. My door is open".

My advice for anyone wit friends/family who push you to buy their mlm stuff for a good cause like medical bills; if you genuinely want to help, just ask them how much commission they would make on a sale, usually its somewhere around $25%, then instead of buying an overpriced cream or oil for $40, just give then the $10 they'd make off it. Saves you money, still helps them the same amount, and stops you from supporting a terrible business.

My son was hospitalized with RSV in January of this year when he was only 4 months old. He had to be placed on oxygen because he couldn't get enough air on his own. One night, my husband sent me home so I could get some sleep and he stayed with our baby. I sobbed the entire drive home and I cried myself to sleep when I got there because I was terrified that he would need me and I wasn't there. The idea that a mother could leave her dying child to beg for her in the hospital is unconscionable.

My mom married the most moneyed man she could have, disregarded the fact that the man (my dad) had already married with two kids. She also had two children (my sister and I) with the man to ensure her children would take care of her in her old age. When my dad left her to marry another woman (duh🙄), she became abusive towards me, UNTIL I could work and earned some money (which she took without my consent). My personal experience makes me assume the worst when I see people monetize their children on social media. I'm also very suspicious towards people who adopt a lot of children.

My sister tried to be a MK consultant. Some of the meetings were a few hours away from her. She would get yelled at for not attending. Her last straw was when she attended a local workshop and I was her guest. As I wasn’t “model material”, I was treated as if I was a toddler (I was in my 20s at the time) and of absolutely no value. She quit after that.

My daughter has a rare genetic condition where most with severe forms of it die by age 4. She is turning 4 this month. Yet we still haven't been able to receive medicaid here in Ohio. We are trying to fight for a waiver. Some states are super strict with medicaid. A social worker did tell us that if you are in the hospital for more than 30 days, you can get it (she had medicaid for only a month or two after being in the nicu for over 7 weeks after birth before they kicked her off for income). I would certainly hope this child had medicaid being she was literally on her deathbed, but sometimes the government does fail these children and their parents, so I would do research on the person in questions state laws and health conern before thinking they are lying. No confrontation at all, just informing.😊 Now if we moved 40 mins east into PA, she would have had medicaid since birth. I wish more states were like that. We are struggling to get my daughter the things she needs, and it is not fair to her at all! The Healthcare system is failing 😢

As someone working in class action - the MLM let a minor doing something without parent permission that legally required parent permission. And had no way of verifying parent permission, most states require in person parent signatures or must contact the parent to verbally verify, and in some states you must have a work permit as a minor that requires a parent under specific ages. It wouldn't just be hard for the MLM to fight, they could be countersued for a lot of money and that countersuit could've opened a floodgate with the state for exploitations of minors which would've ruined not just the company, but possibly the founders and reps if the company was not an LLC.

im shaking typing this because I had a feeling this would somehow make it to reddit or youtube or something for a while now but still in shock. The Mary Kay story is about my husbands ex SIL but i still feel like its my due diligence to set the record straight because for some god forsaken reason this vile woman has been telling this FALSE story for the last 4 years. CHELSIE WAS NEVER AT A RETREAT. SHE WASNT SPLASHING AROUND AND HANGING OUT AT THE BEACH. SHE WENT TO STAY WITH HER SISTER 2 HOURS AWAY BECAUSE JARED WOULD GO OUT EVERY NIGHT TO SLEEP WITH HIS COWORKER, COME HOME AT 2 AM AND SCREAM AND YELL AT HER SAYING HE WISHED IT WAS HER INSTEAD. she was gone for ONE WEEK, took her son because she couldnt trust jared wouldnt stay sober long enough to care for him . she drove the 4 hr round trip every day except once because she literally had to be SEDATED because of how distraught she was. physically incapable of doing ANYTHING. the day reagan passed she was essentially tranquilised again and doesnt remember anything that happened for the next 3 weeks and BARELY remembers the funeral. she had a complete nervous breakdown and was hospitalized for a month and while there jared took their son and moved in with his new coworker girlfriend. i have NOTHING to gain from lying about my brother in law. my husband hasnt spoke to him in 3 years. Last i spoke to chelsie she and her son were living with her sister again and is still unable to work at all. jared hasnt made an effort to make the at most 3 hour trip to see his son since christmas. our family is still very much broken from this. and its part of the reason why i became part of the anti MLM community, because i know that her mary kay upline most DEFINITELY told her to make those posts. she was herself exploited and manipulated. but it was her only source of income. she couldnt just get another job. jared was missing work a lot as well. she had no choice but to sell so she could have the little money she did make for gas and food and whatever else was needed. if not for her parents the funeral wouldnt have been able to be paid for. it makes me sick to my stomach that a family tragedy was exaggerated and embellished by someone who doesnt even know HALF of what my husbands family went through. is it boredom? attention? does it make you feel important and morally superior? go worry about your domestic battery charge, Cori.

I'm not sure what the rules are in PA. It's just that growing up my dad always told me minors can't anger into contracts. It turns out they can, but they can break the contract at anytime which prevents preditory businesses from going after minors.
Except apparently the MLM in Story 3. From my perspective, they had it coming. Don't prey on litteral children and you won't lose $2,500.

I’m not religious but that Mary Kay hun makes me want to believe in a bad place.that must have been such a hard story for a new mom to read, thank you Hannah. I think that story proves how important what your doing is. MLMs bring out the worst in people 😞

She is the bad place and cult religions protect enable and create this behavior. Just look at the 8 Passengers case. They didn’t do that for their Satan or their fellow man. They did it for their god.

Oh wow, this was heavy. I really hope that this MLM hun was running off to events and acting in that way because she didn't know what else to do and was being horribly affected by grief, I just can't imagine why on earth else a mother would act like that when their own daughter is in that heart-breaking situation

The only thing I can think of is the older child might not be his, in which case leaving the mother would mean leaving a child alone with a parent he knows is not providing care, as legally he would have no rights. He wouldn't be the first boy/girlfriend I know to stay with a bad partner for the sake of a child they can't take with them because they aren't the parent

There was a family member of the husband in here debunking the story. Apparently she didn't go on a mk retreat she was at her sister's cos the husband was cheating and she was really unwell. She was pressured to sell her child's death, but it's because it was her only source of income. Husband moved in with girlfriend. Son lives with mother

@@nixi7688absolutely. MLMs are often compared to cults, and abusive relationships are often called a "cult of two". Even listening to the version of events described in the letter, the MK woman's behaviour absolutely sounds like the behaviour of someone brainwashed by a cult/abuser to always prioritise the cult/abuser over everyone else - which is why so much posting about the daughter would have happened due to pressure from her upline.
I've spent a lot of time in communities for abuse victims and my first thought was that her behaviour was similar to the warped decision making that occurs as a result of years of abuse. Cults are abusive, MLMs are abusive and the entire situation just sounds incredibly sad all around. Even if the letter was true I definitely didn't feel it was as black and white as she was a completely terrible mother, and this other report of the cheating and drunk partner and the MK rep really struggling (and not going to the retreat at all) makes it all even sadder.
These "businesses" prey on people they can manipulate, just as abusive partners do. It's easy for others to say from afar "I wouldn't do that" or "how could she behave like that", but these environments literally change people's brain chemistry to impair problem solving and decision making and work much more in instinctive fight/flight/freeze/fawn. Everything about that story is so awful. I hope she got away from the MLM, as well as the cheating partner.

One thing many people who work from home don’t think about us that you can (perhaps should?) still engage childcare while you’re working. Wether it’s an occasional babysitter, a nanny or daycare - where you work doesn’t mean you have to try to be full-time caregiver and full-time worker without help.

I think we’re going to see a lot more Huns getting exposed by their growing children one day, whether it’s being abandoned in the hospital or just getting snapped at because mom is busy on her phone making sales. We saw a perfect example not too long ago-miss Hailey the Beachbody Hun with her little son. He was not even a year old and she slapped his arm & screamed at him during her livestream because he kept digging into a houseplant. Get off live and set up a sensory table for him. Be a MOTHER before a HUN. I firmly believe this won’t be the last time.
