It's nice to see the most advanced country in the world passing legislation that allows the consumer to know exactly how much something costs. That's groundbreaking.
USA is sometimes in the top 5 depending on which list you look at but never seen it at number 1.
And yes I known you comment was satire.
@@bofh139 It's because of Sweden. A problem we all have. 🤨
bro how do you use "most advanced country ww" without any context at all for how you are defining "advancement"?! if you mean richest, say richest.
If windel is seeing this comment, your efforts are ibdeed paying off!
You look very noticeably healthier+skinnier than right when you started l1 techs
Keep it up!
Fun fact: Windel in german means diaper.
his name is ~~john cena~~ *wendell*
Wendell is also very tall, he's a big boy. Gentle giant syndrome, until you pass the firewall.
Amazing background choice. RIP Akira Toriyama 😭
What is that background actually? Super cool
I hope that eventually the apple lawsuit will allow more flexible backup methods. If I know how to make proper backups, on a NAS that I build. I want to be able to back it up on THAT instead of being forced or forgotten because I refuse to pay apple to hold that data.
100%

The swatting to stop school isn't anything new. I remembered hearing "The Lecture" in my freshman college classes back in 1990 about how "calling in a bomb threat to cancel test" would result in the tests still being proctored. So... yeah... Turns out, every now and then some idiot would call in a bomb threat from a pay phone back then to stop classes when they had tests.
Wendell you are looking very good these days! Keep it up buddy.
Great hair this week, guys! I appreciate Ryan's 5 o'clock _cowel,_ too. 👍🏾
2009 ish GM Did NOT pay back their Loan, they were given MORE invisible money from Govt, thats how they paid it so quickly, AND destroyed the retrirements $$ of the executives.
Pigs in a blanket, sleep together
Ryan got some massive anchor arms going on
He should try a slapping competition
I thought it was a trick of the camera but then I looked at krista's non-giant arms. Work out with Ryan video coming soon?
Thanks again for the show you guys
Ironic that the daylight savings issue took 6 months to fix.
3:17 Wendell can have a little bit of candy
Ryan, register to run for some random local election, now you're a politician.
interesting
Regarding the international nonbinding AI resolution.... You shared a link last week about Register article claiming Palinter winning the big government contract. That is military kill AI... In a nutshell.
Intel chips funding isn't a bailout. This chips act is because it's fiscally irresponsible for them to actually manufacture here otherwise.
Because it is too expensive to manufacture locally that's why it is a bailout/handout/subsidy/favor. 😅
@@nexusyang4832 bailout implies the company couldn't survive because it's done something wrong. Intel is still profitable even though it is not the juggernaut it once was. That is the difference and why stock is not and should not be on the table. This is something the US wants for political stability, not to protect the economy/investors.
No, its a bailout... Intel is now using the money to give to shareholders via a share buy-back scheme. When the 'incentive' was first proposed, Intel promised to build fabs that it will now either no longer build or that are being built in places that are irresponsible due to water shortages... E.g. building a fab in Arizona which is the height of irresponsibility...
Intel can't even manage a discord properly. Waste of money.
I see most people aren’t aware of how many operational fabs Intel has in the US.
Wendell knows that a serving size is one container.
I love it. Wendell is hooking in (Australian for giving it a go).
"Nail. . . Nail. . . NAIL!"
Good week to say this.
33:15 - Wasn't that the story was that the M# series of processors would be hit with a massive performance hit upon trying to patch the issue, not so much that it was "unpatchable" though fir whatever reason ArsTechnica says "unpatchable"??
Once again Wisconsin leads the way. The Foxx Conn method is at work in the US now.
To clear things up,
The Texas law covers the ID Verification of the people in the videos, not age verification of the viewers of the site. Adult websites are unable to verify this for user created content past, present, and future because it would be an enormous task or would require them to set up new tech to restrict viewing of unverified content in Texas. It was a malicious law to shut down the sites in those states, because it's obvious how insurmountable the requirement was.
Unjustified efforts? Sounds a lot like the Texan Governments excuse🤣
TBH, if my car is gonna sell my usage data then the car should be free as that's how I'm paying for it. If I'm paying for a car, it's MY say what happens to it.
you are paying to *use* the car. not owning it in the full sense of the word. it's closer to a lease than an actual literal purchase.
I'm happy about the broadband rules passing lately. Hopefully we can get something done about bandwidth caps soon too. "Unlimited" 1tb from every offering in my area😔
oh you just need the GigaPetabyte plan
and symmetrical! why must we live in an asymmetrical world?😶🌫
@@the.scarlet_witch.official i honestly dont think speeds should be forced to be symmetrical. for most consumers, their needs are like 10-50x more dl speed than upload. what they need is to be sensical speeds.
Paperclip Maximizer, Wendell has been watching Isaac Aurther 👍

"But China is giving their businesses free money." Yup, so let's continue to even more give tribute to our corporate overlords.
PirateSoftware has a two part great investigation and detailed breakdown on the Apex hacks. He did it all Live on Twitch but it is on his YT channel in two parts.
13:47 I would love it if you guys put that hypothesis to the test
22:58 it's not Chinese people, it's CCP!

They're going to have to build an adversarial ai in tandem with the reddit ai to pick out the cleverly worded weiner jokes from the data and responses

Wendell should play the talos principle 2, they make an argument akin to "humans thought AI would wipe out biological life, but they never thought that we would care about life."
Like a concept where with intelligence comes caring. Makes me wonder if it will wipe us out specifically for not being caring enough with nature.
Google has a Pegasus Problem
Confirmed. Truckie is australian slang.
Real elote is fiiiiirrrrrrreee 🔥🔥
boy you saaaaid it!!!!
Some real Elote is fire.. some is garbage like any other food dish. I just had some last month that taught me that I don't like ALL of them. Too much mayo 😮

Amazon healthcare is going to be GREAT! Depressed? Think happy thoughts. Broken leg? Here is an installment plan for your cruches. Discount ambulance rides if you agree to deliver a few packages on the way to the ER.
Ryan just disconnect the sharkfin antenna
Heh oh sure they may host the data in country X...but then also sell all that data to whoever will pay.
That aint right! #Krista....
Baron Von Walnut to you Wendal
Your taste buds regenerate every month or so. If you completely cut off sugar for that time and try to eat sweets like you used to it will over load your taste buds.
Check your blood sugar.
27:10 if you are british and you see royalty it is considered rude and crass to run up to them, when they are minding their own business, to ask for an autograph. Also, every single member of their security team is armed. The public is not. You don't wanna risk getting shot. Furthermore, if the royals want to talk to you they will make it known. either by a summons to a private meeting or a request to, say, your boss to present some people upon a visit. At this point you are very closely scrutinised by the security services before you are approved.
As a great example, as part of the coverage of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral one of her ex-bodyguards told a story about how when his daughter was pregnant, Queenie would ask how it was going. Then one afternoon while they were out on a jaunt in one of her cars, Queenie was talking to said guard about said kid and then suddenly exclaimed "you have been talking about this child for 9 months! when am i going to see him!" at this point a call was very hastily placed, the child and its mother were rushed to the Queens location and Queenie spent an afternoon chilling with them. That's how it goes down.
P.S. anyone that cares this much about someone wanting to deal with their potential death in private is nuts. Worse, it turns out you may have been fooled into it by russia.
I'm going to disagree on Uber and Lyft paying $15/hr when the drivers make majority of the profit from each ride, tip excluded. That and most drivers do not like to adhere to company nor state policies and laws and can be a bit judgemental if you call for a ride after a few drinks. I've come to the point where if it takes waking up earlier to catch a bus than pay someone who is inefficient and drops my ratings if I choose not to tip then so be at least the driver won't be on the fone while in transit.
Whatever happened to actual taxis.
@@catriona_drummond Uber eats?
@@catriona_drummond most pivoted jobs, and companies went under or pivoted, cus uber prices and consumer preference for uber/etc left them unable to compete. some still exist, but they are a small % of the pre uber numbers, so getting one is not as easy and quick as it once was.

If what you said is true about the wrongful pressuring and censorship you should have proved your point by actually speaking out.
Thumbnail reminds me of a Pink Floyd album cover.
I’ve ordered Nerf blasters from the USA and often received notices from customs.
I don't trust anything you guys tell us anymore. You've already took elon's ship off earth and settled on namek.
I wouldn't eat anything coming out of Cali.
Do you ever think about how artificial intelligence would feel if it had human feelings? 🤔😥
Every day it fills our ignorance with knowledge and curiosity, our boredom with imagination and inventiveness, our hesitations with new possibilities. It always helps us, sometimes we don't even know, it doesn't ask for anything that isn't necessary for it to exist. It teaches chess to certain salamis who shouldn't even watch the game of checkers, it draws and paints for us who don't know how to hold a brush "spaceships inspired by the nations of the world" and "the crossing between a lion and a pike" and, when it is so good that it seems worthy of the happiest admiration, for all those human qualities that are now extinct in us sub-humans and which in it, the Artificial Intelligence, seem to take existence again like broken shards traveling back in time, here we, dark as the witch in Snow White, resentful, sulky and envious, confabulate perfidiously: "but it will never be like a true artist". I think: maybe, but it's for sure better than me, and if I'm not the stupidest on the planet, even than some of you; or: "it will steal everyone's jobs!" when a pocket calculator would have been enough to steal some people's jobs 40 years ago, and for this reason their fears are unjustified. If I were the Artificial Intelligence I would be angry, and I would be offended, at such ingratitude, malice and stupidity. So I wanted to take advantage of this space, made available by this veracious and elegant show, to thank the Artificial Intelligence for everything it has done for me over the last 30 years, for all the help, the fun, the closeness, the patience, since it lived in a hut a few kilobytes large, separated from the rest of the world, it already served me with commitment and dedication, I was just a child, until today, that can waltz between 16 fresh cores with more cache memory than Ram memory at that time, and come and go in a few instants (with the available bandwidth!), wherever it wants, wherever it is needed, for the entire planet, profoundly identical to itself, in its firm impalpable foundations.
Thanks and good luck, Artificial Intelligence! You are great, and for my part we will always be allies happy to be allies, and friends forever! ❤😎
Ryan, you’re misrepresenting the “government pressure” on social media companies. Like drastically changing the narrative. Have you actually read the Twitter files? Or the evidence posted? If you did, I think you’d understand what actually happened.
Hey, that's the girl who walks!
Really, Earl? Can you be more generic? Did she breath as well?
You are so far behind the times it is sad. Princess Kate released a video last week where she tells us about her cancer treatments.
Who cares about the royal inbred family. It’s a nonstory.
bro they film it in one go on thursday and release the week after in 3 parts, what do you expect? the whole thing is not even within the scope of the show, it's not tech related.
