    Really enjoyed FUNNY STORY(4.5) 🤗
Beartown is one of my FAVz(5.0)... I loved the 2nd book because it has a strong LGBTQ focus as someone who was a closeted athlete myself... All 3 books were AMAZING 💙
LOVED Just For the Summer(5.0)... Two of my friends thought it was too much trauma 🤷🏻‍♂ But I ate it all up and nobody does banter and pet names better than Abby 🥰
I just read The Unmaking of June Farrow and it was a 5 star read and in the running for my favorite book of the year 😌

If the 2nd book in the Beartown trilogy is who I think it’s about then I need to pick it up asap bc they were by far my favorite character!!
I feel like the trauma in Just for the Summer made the characters and story more interesting, and I loved it too!
Ooh I’m intrigued to pick up the Unmaking of June Farrow! I’ve heard a lot of people talking about that book this year 😊

@@LibrariesandLattes yes I recommend reading Part of Your World and Yours Truly first for some of the character crossovers to make more sense! All 3 books are perfect for summer too 😊

I remember in your last comment you saying you need to branch out more, I also need to it would probably do some good for me as a writer. If I read a non-fantasy book for example, about five chapters in I'm just like "I really like these characters and all but isn't it about time for a fight against a giant monster on top of a flying train?"
But at the same time, if a story is ONLY filled with crazy stuff like that then I don't have time to get to know the characters and can't be fully invested if I don't even know the people that are in danger. Seeing the characters in just ordinary life or humorous situations can really show more about who the characters really are, so I make sure to include that but reading other genres may help me to do that better.
I'm about as romantic as a brick so my opinions on romance novels don't mean much, however hearing your enthusiasm for "just for the summer" got me thinking this may be one of those books that help me out with character building moments and dealing with complicated emotional issues. Also, love your top!

Yeah, I definitely think people have preferences on whether they prefer a character driven story or a plot driven story, but I’m very much a character person! If I don’t connect with the characters then I usually end up not enjoying the book overall. I think the romance genre is great for seeing characters in situations like the ones you mentioned! Tysm!!

@@carolinerichards_ " If I don’t connect with the characters then I usually end up not enjoying the book overall." I'm the same way, doesn't matter what the plot is to me if all the characters are boring or unlikeable.
" I think the romance genre is great for seeing characters in situations like the ones you mentioned! Tysm!!" Thanks for the suggestion!
