-------------------------------------------
Ingredients
10 Pieces Chicken Wings
Chicken Marinade:
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Brown Sugar
½ tsp Chinese 5 Spice Powder
1 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Chinese Cooking Wine
1 Large Egg
4 tbsp All Purpose Flour
3 tbsp Cornstarch
Sweet Sour Sauce:
½ cup Tomato Ketchup
½ cup Brown Sugar (if prefer white sugar use ¼ cup)
¼ cup White Vinegar
2 tbsp Chinese Black Vinegar (optional)
1 tsp MST
1 tbsp Cornstarch
3 tbsp Water
Cooking Instructions
Add dry marinade ingredients to bowl and mix well taking out large lumps. Add the soy sauce and Chinese cooking wine. Mix again and then add 1 large egg and mix again.
Pour over chicken wings and cover it all with marinade. Then add 4 tablespoon all purpose flour and 3 tablespoon cornstarch and mix again.
I highly recommend marinading this overnight for maximum flavor.
Mix all the sauce ingredients together and just set aside.
Heat pot of oil to 350°F (177°C). I use vegetable oil. I have a 14" wok and I fill it a little over halfway up with the oil. Since I have 10 chicken wings I don't want to put all of the chicken in at one time.
I'll split the chicken into 2 batches of 5 wings. And fry each batch separately.
If you put too much chicken in at one time the oil's temperature will drop drastically. Resulting in greasy and not so crunchy fried chicken.
Look for a golden brown color on the outside, should take about 5 to 7 minutes.
After you fry all the chicken get a clean pan and heat it on medium heat. Add a few tablespoons of oil, you can use the same oil used to fry chicken wings.
Then add the sauce and stir when it boils the sauce will tighten and thicken up. When it is heated thoroughly flip off the heat. Carefully add the chicken wings in and mix until the wings are covered.
You can top off with sesame seeds and and spring onions for presentation.
Enjoy!

(Jason from Canada)
Thank you very much Jason 🙏
Here supporting, Wally! (Even though I'm techinically off YT for a while yet!) Hugs!
Thanks bro, hope you're having a good rest!
@@WallyCooksEverything Thanks, but it's not a rest. I'm working on my cars. Very few people seem to know this, but I'm just as much a car guy, as I am a food guy...perhaps even more so.
I've been doing ALL the things that I had been putting off for the last 3 years, due to concentrating on Maplecook. OMG, there was so much to do! But little by little, it has come back, and the cars are approaching showroom condition again! haha
Next summer, I plan to do the timing belt on my EF Civic (1991 Model) and there is a D16Z6 engine (I'll let you Google that yourself.) on a stand in my front yard that is begging for a rebuild. I am thinking that in a year from now, I'll take that sucker apart, down to the last bolt, and rebuild it to be a brand new engine again, and transplant it into my current Civic.
If I am successful at that, who knows? I might just go to work on my Lexus and turn it into the 800hp monster that it was always meant to be...stay tuned! hahahahaha
Welcome back, Wally👋👏. New kitchen looks great, mate 👍. Is your home next to that lake? Looks beautiful, but I guess it doesn't help with the mosquitoes and humidity. A wood fired pizza oven and 100°+f....yikes, rather you than me🔥🔥🔥🍕🥵!.
Chicken wings look lush, and all of the ingredients are easy to source in the Asian stores near me, in The UK👍.
Looking forward to the next one...peace, health and happiness to you and your family 🙏
Hello again Jon, there's a few man made lakes nearby. Mainly used for irrigation for the rice paddies and lotus ponds 😀 Yeah but I love pizza so much I think I can tolerate the heat. I've been watching videos on building ovens I think I can start with something small and simple first 🙏
@@WallyCooksEverything Look forward to seeing that, Wally. "Conventional" pizza, or will you be making one with an Oriental/SE Asian twist 🍕?
Hey Wally
Hope you and your family are well🤟🙏. I'm fascinated by the Tongguan Roujiamo videos on YT. No problem finding ingredients for the filling, but can't find the bread anywhere here, in the UK.
It looks like our puff pastry, is it the same? Do you think puff pastry would work? Do you ever cook it?
Thrive and prosper🙏
👍👍👍🍚🍚🍚
Where you been man? Hope everything is ok?
I'm well just a little busy as you can see 😀 Thanks for the concern I appreciate it, take care!
Camels? Lol! I do not have any of those!
For you it's free 😆
@@WallyCooksEverything OMG! I laughed so hard (ie. Camels)! I love your videos. I know they are there to help us cooking - so we can enjoy your lovely food!
I am kinda of a squirrel person (Eastern Gray). I know you are into Camels. But, if I am to send you some squirrels, do you have a mailing address? I am in Canada! You may enjoy their nuts!
I like squirrels too. When I used to live in NYC I would feed the squirrels peanuts 😀
Yay !!!! This is great Wally, you’re the best
