Thank you, Ariel! I can't believe I missed your comment! We will make sure to continue making good videos for you, we are still learning everyday. I think you will really like our next video about Filipino cooking of sisig and Bicol express! We missed having beer with us 😭
White rice is what we've been missing all along! Also, garlic rice is like the best invention in the history of the culinary world! We tried recreating the dishes but forgot to cook rice again 🫠 At least I think sisig and Bicol express came out really good. I'll upload it to YT asap, I promise 🥹
Some bicol express is brown bcoz they add too much shrimpaste there is also another version of bicol express which kinda orange/red but the authentic bicol express is actually white a bit spicier but taste really good.
Oh that makes sense! We thought it had something to do with the amount of soy sauce or fish sauce, but none of them actually are in Bicol express! Thanks for clarifying 👍
Theres also a light Pink and yellow color of bicol express.. Because of the ginger they used.. Bicol Express is like adobo. Depends the way it cook and tge ingredients that they add as well
Thank you so much for your kind words! I came back to this video and found your comment unanswered. Can't believe I missed it for such a long time 🥹 We have been trying to cook more Filipino food that we tried in this video but I don't know if it came out okay 🫠 Hopefully, you'll still feel happy watching us cook lol Please don't judge to harshly ❤️
Pancit canton is a eggnoodle with a stirfry with veggies Sinigang is a sour soup its soursoup Because many type sour plant to make sour and its different if any type of meat it was fish, fork, beef, seafoods
I think the bicol express is quite brown bc sometimes they toast the first pour of coconut milk then add another cup of fresh coconut milk. Just like how my grandma do. But not all do that. 😂
So... we tried recreating Filipino food by following some pretty authentic recipes lol I hope you like the results when you see it...which will happen pretty soon. I just need to edit it 🥹😬
This version of sisig u tried, if it's not fried, it's called dinakdakan. It's just boiled not fried, and they put raw onions (if there's any on the one you tried) to cut the fat. One secret for adobo (if you like it salty) is to mix all ingredients in, put vinegar last, then boil it, until the sour smell is gone, then you can fry the meat to make it a little Crispy, then put the sauce back little by little so that it becomes saucy and not soupy. Caution though when you fry, don't put oil because the fat from the pork will serve as your oil. Adobo has many versions depending on which province it was cooked. In Bicol they also put coconut milk to their adobo which is good too.
@Chris Flores You know what, we were just talking about how sad we were that Jovy's Grill didn't have adobo on their menu! I have tried adobo only once and a very long time ago and thought it would be hard to recreate from just memory alone, but your tips are very useful and give me confidence to try ahaha! Thank you so much! I'm saving your comment for when we try to recreate the dishes that we tried... fingers crossed 😅
Hi!!! It's amazing to have you! Thank you for the kind words. Seeing and hearing yourself in a video definitely takes some getting used to. We are definitely looking into the "smaller" home kitchen friendly version of lechon as a potential dish for our FIlipino food cooking video! I am not sure if we ever tried any breakfast options. Can you please recommend some? 😀😆
Hi! The sisig you bought at Hyehwadong looks similar to an Ilocano dish called dinakdakan (traditionally made with pig's brain, but nowadays they just substitute it with mayo). May or may not be hehe Thanks for trying Filipino food! 😊
Oh that sounds like it could be it! I don't think we've ever tried it before but now we've learned that there are several variations of sisig! We loved the dishes we've tried so much that we are now planning on cooking some. 😁🤪
The first sisig you tried is called sizzling sisig it was charred before putting it on a sizzling plate, the other sisig with white suace is the original and the first sisig invented or cooked before the one with mayonnaise in it
oh! that's great to know! I had no idea there were two types of sisig. Because even when I went online to look it up, only sizzling sisig came up. 🥹 we decided to make our own at home by following a recipe! Wish us luck. You will be able to see it though as soon as I edit it 😭
You should put ice on red horse more refreshing..and you should cook again the other dishes like empanada and other foods so it would be more delicious and tastier..thnx for trying filipino foods...appreciate so much guys .are you pure koreans??❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
HI! Just came back to rewatch our Filipino mukbang video because I am having a sudden craving (at 00:54 on a Tuesday 😒) Can't believe I missed your comment 🥹! We are pure Koreans 😬 Don't we look like it? The dishes were really good even without warming them up again, but I think next time we drop by the market cooking them again at home won't hurt! We actually tried to recreate Filipino food several times and different dishes, but failed at empanada and adobo. Thankfully, we kind of succeeded at sisig and Bicol express lol 😂 I'll show you the video as soon as I finish editing it, I promise!
there are many varieties of sisig.. you should try this.. chopped grilled pork belly add onions, salt, lemon & chillies.. put it in the fridge for awhile, serve cold.. partner with beer... 😁 that's basically it. That's how we do it in the northern part of Philippines..
That actually sounds like a great option for a quick side dish for a beer! And all of the ingredients are widely available here in South Korea. Thank you so much for the tip! I have a feeling it will turn into our staple in no time! 🥰
What makes it brownish seem they added lots of shrimp paste with it. Its locally called Bagoong ing tagalog. Try sewrching for bagoong. I hooe you try kare kare. Pronounced as Ka-reh ka-reh.. Best paired with bagoong. Enjoy...
They add some of chilli pipper in or hot sause to make it red like paprika some curry flavor Yeah knew bicol express has coconutmilk so they make be a curry for the taste of korea
Hi Anna! I really hope so too! We were so sad that they didn't have any desserts at Jovy's Grill. And since we arrived at the market pretty late, they didn't seem to have any left either :( However, I promise that I'll try and find the best Filipino dessert place here in Korea and try some. If you have any recommendations, please leave them here (so we are not as clueless next time lol)!
Bicol express has a shrimp paste,. They are lot of shrimp paste you could find,, there are fresh and already sauted,,. As there are lots of shrimp paste,. Some they added food color just for nice presentation.. maybe that is why the bicol express you ate have diffirent color rather than the white that you seen on other videos... Hope you will enjoy more filipino food
Thank you! I looked into it and now it make so much more sense! I've never really heard of shrimp paste but it's definitely something essential to know especially as we are trying to recreate Bicol express at home! I was just curious if the whiter bicol express dishes have a different taste to them? Do they taste less salty and more coconutty? 😛
@@thetastescout the shrimp paste will give a tangy taste,,. Dont put too much if youre trying to cook bicol express,,. A amount of spoon is enough.. P.S. some shrimp paste are made too salty,,. So keep in myd how many paste are you going to use.. ,, while some shrimp paste that you could find in the store are already sauted,,.there are some sweetness in it.
@@marc-colinsbernabe1242 oh that's good to know! Now I know what to look out for in a recipe and at a store! I think I will be able to use shrimp paste in a lot of the things we cook day to day because we love the taste and the flavor so much! 😋
Every coconut milk flavored dish must achieved that semi brown color.. That is more delicious.. Getting out that oil from that coconut milk is the best..
From now on I am drowning all of my food in coconut milk muahahahah bicol express --> coconut milk, curry --> coconut milk, hamburger --> COCONUT MILK!!! 🤣🤣🤣 No but seriously... coconut milk is the 💩!!! I love it ❤
That's awesome! Are they considered a dessert? It tasted like a perfect balance between tangy, savory, and sweet! I wonder if we could make them with regular bananas if we can't find plantains here :(
@@thetastescout it's called a banana cue and could be a dessert, but most of us usually eat it as a snack. They're mostly sold out in the streets and we also have a kamote cue, which is sweet potatoes cooked in the same way. The yellow bananas aren't really advisable for cooking, maybe you could use unripe green bananas? I'd also suggest making a banana turon, you can also use the green banana, wrap it with a lumpia wrapper (or something like a dumpling wrapper) and then fry it with sugar too. You can add cheese or sometimes we add jackfruit, but i prefer the cheese or best to have just the bananas. a cooking vlog would be fun to watch too, whether it's korean cuisine, filipino or something else, I'd be up for that :)

Haha we got some chicharon! I had to translate "sayang na sayang" but you are right! We finished the whole bag! Also, I've discovered that it's a great keto snack so we can have it ALLLLLLLLLL the time! 😌😛😍
@@thetastescout hahaha thats why i gave you a pilipino word ..di ngayong alam mo na what SAYANG means..
Maybe the shrimp paste they use is from barrio fiesta thats why it's brown.
You know what that means right? I need to get me some shrimp paste! 😛
new subscriber from philippines.😘
Thank's for showing us some love! Can't believe I am seeing your comment just now! I hope you'll be happy with our content. We've been practicing cooking Filipino foods lately! I promise a I'll upload a video about it as soon as I finish editing lol Please don't judge too harshly! 🥹❤️
Empanda is makes up with spicy venigar
I loved the empanada! We failed miserably when we tried to recreate it ourselves 😭 The video will be up here soon. Please don't judge too harshly 😬🥹

Simplest things are the best!
Njce...masarap
Thank you for checking us out! I hope you got to enjoy watching this video for at least a fraction of the pleasure that we felt making it! 😌😍
❤️❤️❤️
Yes you're super correct but we use tamarin fruit for sinigang nice right
I only had it dry as a snack! Never thought it was used in sinigang. I wish it was more available here so we could use it when we cook Filipino food at home 😅 Thank you for letting us know! This will definitely improve our recipies.
Personally I like raisins, especially in cinnamon rolls.
OMG I have the biggest sweet tooth and now I'm craving cinnamon rolls 😜😜 TEAM RAISINS 4LYFE! HAHAHAH
Hi, what Bicol express makes it brown? maybe the shrimp paste in Filipino we call Bagoong. thank you again for loving our food.💖💖💖💖💖💖
Oh! I just googled it and it totally makes sense! We are actually trying to make a video cooking the dishes that we loved the most and this helps a lot. Now just have to go back to the Filipino market and get the ingredients hahah Thank you for this info and for checking out the video!
@@thetastescout you're so welcome. 😊😊 if you like to eat/ taste Lechon, you can cook it also in the oven. but I highly recommended the other version of Lechon. we call it Lechon Pork Belly Roll. it's famous here in the Philippines. the ingredients are found in google and youtube also. it's very easy to make it. you should try someday.😊😊😊😊
@@DeniseAgustin24 anything pork belly sounds amazing! I just really hope we can do justice to these dishes and ...recreate them for our own enjoyment, too ahahahha! 😉 Will have to find the most authentic recipe and follow it ...even if I can't fut understand it lol 🤣🤣
@@thetastescout don't worry here's how and, with English subtitles. all he's cuisines are Authentic Filipino cuisines. ua-cam.com/video/optjkgoxC2E/v-deo.html
Hello my friend
Hi Joycas! Thank you for stopping by!
Can you eat more Filipino food please? And travel vlogs in the Philippines
Man! Thank you for the invitation! I can't believe I am seeing your comment just now! We've been travelling for work a lot but never get to go to the Philippines 😭🫠 When do you think is the best time to visit?
@@thetastescout April or May is the best time to visit the Philippines if you love beaches. From what my relatives in the PH said it is hot as hell there now.
Crispy PATA pls!
I Challenge you to Make a Cooking Vlog on your Favorite filipino food you could start on Adobo
We tried adobo and failed miserably 🫠😭 but ...the Bicol express and sisig came out okay! It just took us forever to hunt down the correct ingredients 🥹 Ill upload it as soon as I edit it, I promise 😬
You two beautiful people should just hop on a plane to Manila and eat everything your hearts desire!
OMG I just came back to this video and can't believe I missed your comment! First of all, thank you! Second, I will take you up on your invitation! We travelled for work a lot around Southeast Asia but didn't yet have a chance to visit Manila 😭 We did cook Filipino food tho several times and once to upload here. I will have it up as soon as I edit I promise 🥹 When is the best time to visit Manila?
@@thetastescout Best time to visit is from November to February. All other months is either too hot or too wet due to monsoon. If you can take some heat, March to May. Always check the weather for possible typhoon!
@@waby4844 Thank you so much for these tips! I guess we missed the best time this year. Luckily, we are able to take some heat. I am definitely looking forward to experience everything the Philippines has to offer. Will have to look into the summer season 😍 Have a great weekend!
You can collaborate with Jessica Lee she can introduce you to Filipino food
That would be awesome! Jessica definitely has a lot of authority when it comes Filipino food! I'd love to collab once we grow a bit 😀
chicken afrida or chicken adobo fried banana
After a thorough 17 minute google session of "Chicken Afritada," I can confidently say that I will make it my mission to find it, try it, and keep it safe ...inside my belly 😜😜😅 because that is where it belongs! Thank you so much for putting it on my radar!
LMAO! That's what beer is for!
There is nothing better than a cold beer and a sizzling sisig 😻👌🏻🍺
Great job girl. using spoon to eat rice+soup lol
🥹 was I not supposed to? Oh man... how should I eat it lol just for future reference?
@@thetastescout No you're doing good
wow the waitress is a beauty
She is! She is also very helpful, polite, and nice in general!
Sugar and oil it's bananacue
Try filipino dinamite
did you mean dynamite lumpia? Because it looks AMAZINGGGGG! We have something kiiiiiind of similar in Korea but its just stuffed peppers and no wrapper 🥲Now I have to find where I can find it!!!!
If you want to learn how to cook a Filipino food. You can search here on youtube "Panlasang Pinoy"
We actually did that! And recreated the sisig and Bicol express! ....I don't know if the results will be impressing lol please don't judge too harshly 😭🥹 I'll upload it as soon as im done editing, I promise!
Sisig is better when served on a sizzling platter…. You should have also reheated the Sisig that you bought from the market.
Ah! Reheating it would definitely make sense. I just thought because they were serving it there, it was okay to eat as is! I definitely need more Filipino street food experience! Thanks for letting me know 😍 ...and again TEAM RAISINS!!! lol
Philippines content👍👍👍👍👍👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️👁️
We missed Filipino food so much that we decided to cook it ourselves hahahaha.... you'll see the result up here soon! I promise. Just as soon as I am done editing it, which takes me forever 😭🫠🥹
Redhorse stronger waaaapaakk
Beer
Redhorse is really good! We tried it for the first time because they don't have it at restaurants here in Korea for some reason 😭 When we cooked the dishes we missed white rice and beer! You'll see the video soon. I just have to edit it 🥹🫠
That sisig is cold sisig its same methode but its not sizzling like the sizzling sisig thats kind of a salad
I kinda feel that both of you are half Filipinos..
Thank you! I hear that a lot! I think it's because we are used to styling ourselves a bit differently from the traditional Korean aesthetic? Evan's dream is to go to a barber in the Philippines because he heard they are very highly skilled lol Can you confirm? 😬
Poor dog being tortur with food hehehe
Bicol express is bomb! 🔥💯💯
