Rear Suspension on the K24 AWD R56 Mini is done! Trailing arm mount mods were needed

- The rear of the R56 is finally done and rolling again, I needed to modify my trailing arm mounts since the R60 arms do indeed put the wheels further back in the wheel well. Also I got my new wheels!
I am Turbo K24 swapping my 2008 R56 Mini Cooper S after blowing the stock N14 engine after a year of daily driving. While I was looking through the details about K-series engines... I realized that I although I have seen other K-swapped r56s, I haven't seen any AWD ones. So, I thought challenge accepted, and decided to start this build series.

Love this build. I have a first gen r53 track car I’m working on, and once that motor goes, I’m considering a turbo Volvo t5 which I’m very familiar with. I’m a Volvo enthusiast big time, but went with mini, since my garage is so small. So I figured why not throw my favorite engine in the mini, and go AWD while I’m at it. Watching your videos certainly helps motivate me. Also, I’m in Chicago, so that Midwest chill, along with that high sodium ice melting diet, sucks for building custom vehicles. Anyway, keep up the good work man! Hope to see your mini in person some day

amazing build! i am planning on doing something similar to an R53. not many people do awd conversions but man that thing would pull awd! keep it up Bud!
Thank you! I'm hoping to get going on it again soon. I have the turbo manifold and downpipe finished now, I just need to finish editing the video. I had to push the mini to the side for a bit because other priorities just came up, but should get it done this summer.
Great build! I’m building a k24 mini right now. What are you doing for rear axles? Drive shaft shop custom set?
What did you do about the wheel bolt pattern? Does the front r56 4x100 hub fit on the R60 rear?

Powerflex do poly bushes for the rear control arm mounts. Got them on mine...

You are doing exactly what I want to have done on my mini except with somewhere between 350 - 400 HP. I live in Northern Illinois and I'm looking for a shop to do this (I dont have the skills/equipment needed to do myself). If you want to do another one let me know!
Thank you, I am actually northern illinois now too. Car projects took a pause over the last year due to buying a new property and having a child, but I'm getting back into my hobbies now so I'll be back up and going. The Magnum is going to get finished beforee the mini though, makes a good family car.
