You can't help but admire Glenfarclas for constantly putting out this core range at the fairest prices on the scotch whisky market - period! How do they do it? Well, it's probably due to the way they reuse their oloroso casks, making sure they get 3rd and 4th refills over the years. Some of them are European oak, but many are Americam oak too. That keeps costs down. Add some canny management and no overblown budget for marketing and voila! You have the prerequisites for success. And good on them. Both the 21 and 25 year old have got to be the best value sherried malts in those age brackets. They do a damned good distillery tour as well. Cheers!
This is a misunderstood dram in many ways. It’s probably no higher than third on my list regarding the Glenfarclas core range. But was definitely the most evolving in terms of taste and smell as the bottle was depleted, even in the glass. I was expecting rich sherry like the 17 and 25 but this 21 was a subtle mistress. Great whisky!
I agree. The Glenfarclas 21 is an unbelievable whisky. One of Scotland’s finest core range offerings imho. When I first first tried it, it blew me away. It’s amazing how it tends to be quite muted on the palate initially and then it just explodes with flavour. Cost aside, I think it’s a wonderful dram for a newbie or non whisky drinker to try. It converted my wife a few years back!
Cheers Mendip... Its awesome stuff and great money... Just bought the 25.for £99.99 no brainer buddy.. Cheers my friend...
the whisky friend that’s an excellent price for a GF25. I noticed TWE have just released a Glenfarclas 25 year London Edition. £150. Bottled at 50.5%. I’m rather tempted at that price! Slainte
Thank you Alan on the review of the Glenfarclas 21, I've had my eye on the 21 and 25 but there have been so many downers on these drams that it made me kink of unsure on pulling the trigger. The Glenfarclas 25 at $ 192 usd sounds like a no brainer compared to likes of a Laphroaig 25 at $ 599.99 usd. Cheers to the best drams!
Just bought the 25 on amazon Mose @ £99.99 no brainer my friend.. Cheers again for you continued support buddy
The Glenfarclas 15 and 17 are absolutely fantastic - at an incredible price compared to some of the others in that age range.
I agree with you there, quite possibly the perfect dram.
So good.. I just had one my friend... Perfect... Cheers Alan
That is high praise my friend! Sounded delicious and a genuine experience whisky. Thanks for sharing.

@@thewhiskyfriend I would love to drop in. Lives are tough right now, need to find a better balance of life/work/family. I hope it is a lot of fun!
Allen another fantastic review cheers mate!
Nice one, Alan! I generally like Glenfarclas a lot, but if anything is more than 18 years old around here the price simply skyrockets! Maybe I will screw up the courage to invest in a bottle if September turns out to be a very good month businesswise!
I just bought a bottle of the 25 quig for £99.99 incredible value buddy..cheers my friend...
Been thinking about picking up this for a while now but I keep using the money to get things that are going away like Glendronach 18 (pre 2020) and Balblair vintages. At some point will have to get one as it's such a good value. Cheers
It's great whisky for the money Tim... Around £90 here in the UK no brainer buddy... Cheers for watching...
Great video. I've scarcely heard a bad word about this distillery. The 15 and 17 are a fantastic value also!
Great series this one....i need to get the Glenfarclas tour sorted out... get a '21' also.....
Count me in on the tour Andy... Since reviewing these iv bought the 12, 15 and 25..and would also buy the other but not all in one week... The others will come later my friend.... Hook me up on your tour buddy...
Thank you for your video. I like them very much and respect your point of view. I disagree only on one statement, that Glenfarclas doesn’t disappoint. I was always my distillery to go. Me and my Friend have lately made a little contest: Ireland vs Scotland - between Glenfarclas 10YO and Bushmills 10. The latter won hands down. I now, it was lighter in the body, but Glenfarclas simply tasted like a cheap moon-shine in this match up. I repeated testing a few times and it just couldn’t deliver to me. Don’t get me wrong, I love young whiskies, and have some favorite expressions between 10s and younger. I like distilleries, which do proper job starting from the entry level stuff. Maybe was sth wrong with the bottle or I have lost the enjoyment of this kind of whisky. I’m about to pick up Glenfarclas 21 for a good price, although it might be a different story, but now I’m on the fence. Best regards.
Sounds perfect to me, looking forward to see how it compares to 25
25 out later in the week fella... No spoilers.... Let get the Glenfarclas tour booked pal...
Great review Alan😁🥃. Glenfarclas have gone up in price here in Sweden 😞 the 25y is +60 euros now.
Cheers Freddy.. Its as cheap as chips here in the UK.... Its defo buy if you like sweet sherry drams... I do... Cheers fella
Sounds fantastic and for the price too. Normally I don’t buy these because they’re out of my price range. Cheers Alan
It was fantastic Antonio, if you get a chance of a pour of this have a go buddy
Darn it Alan! You're costing me more money......again! Don't mind though, as this one sounds like it will be terrific. I'll pick it up and let you know what profile I get out of a dram or two. 😁 Slainte my friend. Cheers All! 🥃
Don't buy this just yet Ive got three more videos done my friend hang on just a little longer before you spend... Cheers buddy

Cheers Patrick... The 3 big ones still to come... The 17, 25 and 30...looking forward to those my friend... Cheers fella
Hi Alan!
Have you ever tried the Benromach 10 yr or the 10 year imperial strength? This is definitely my go to dram! Please review it!
Hi Kel thanks for watching buddy and yes check out my review no 18 Benromach 10...lovely stuff... Cheers again fella...
Are you doing the 17 out of order because you haven’t acquired a sample yet? I have 3 bottles of 21, but haven’t opened one yet. I was sent a sample so I didn’t need to open a bottle. Maybe now it’s time. I’d like to see if I can pick up some of what you pick up.
Yes Rob I wasn't planning to do the 17 and 30 but guys kept asking in the comments.. So I got a couple of samples... There all recorded now.. 25 next on the 29th and the 17 in the 1st of September...cheers fella
