Bruh u took me back to when I was 17 too…I got on an ‘83 Olds Cutlass and it was the same exact age as me. Cream with the navy blue interior. I blew the motor after 2 years and replaced with a 305 Jasper motor…then the transmission went out. Like a dummy I left it in the side of the road and abandoned it. 1 of my biggest regrets in life and can’t wait to get another 1🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🙏🏽
Oh no you abandoned it??? I truly believe you when you say it's 1 of your biggest regrets in life. Glad you enjoyed it though while you had it. It will be cool when you get another one for sure. Thanks for watching!
@@CutlassVibes if you wouldn’t mind could you keep an eye out for another ‘83 Cutlass and contact me about it 1day. I’d appreciate it and will continue watching ur channel. You got a new subscriber in me from the jump too
I mounted it inside in the middle at the very bottom under the radio area. I do show it in some videos if you would like to see it. Thank you for watching Cutlass Vibes!
@@CutlassVibes Dad sold it about 2000. It had not moved in several years, 260 V8 was a problem since it was new. Unfortunately I had no interest in it at the time.
@@CutlassVibes watching your vids got me looking for a g body. Always liked the Regals but Cutlass’s are a lot cheaper. Yours is bad ass car, too bad GM did not do them like the Regals. Only the Olds test mule had the GN treatment.
I'm glad my videos have gotten you looking for a gbody. I use to have a nice regal, but I sold it. Went to El Paso Tx, I believe. Thank you for the comment about my car and for watching my videos.
I just watched your video. Nice description and wow, you’ve done a ton of work on that car. You have so much money in that car just get another gas tank. I got a reproduction GN gas tank in my LS swap SS Monte Carlo. The tank fit great and is working perfectly, don’t forget the rubber tank isolators if you have an in tank pump. Love your gauge package too.
Thank you very much for this awesome comment. I have put so much time and money into this car it's crazy, but it's all worth it, because this car means so much to me. That is a good idea. Where did you buy your tank from? I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for watching!
@@CutlassVibes I bought my tank from rock auto. It’s a spectra tank with the filler neck attached. It’s listed at $162.79 right now. I also bought the rubber isolators so my in tank pump isn’t too loud.
Super nice Build Man! Love everything about this Cutlass. I'm myself working on a 85 Cutlass with a Ls2 Would you mind sharing where you got you Ac lines made? And what type of air intake is that?
Thank you very much I appreciate that. I think it's pretty cool that your working on a Cutlass yourself! I bought the fittings for the AC lines online, and put them together the way I wanted them, and had a local business here in my small hometown press the fitting on the hoses for me. Any shop that works with hydraulic hoses should be able to press them for you. The air intake honestly I don't know where it was bought, or the brand. It was a piece one of my buddies had, and we cut it to fit. I do know I went with a K&N air filter, because I bought it myself. I would like to know more about what you have done so far on your Cutlass. Sorry I wasn't more help on those 2 questions you had for me.
What kinda trans crossmember did you use and what site did you get the LED lights at those are super bright thanks for the video and can’t wait to get my 87 Salon swapped out with a 6.0 LQ4
I went with the G Force performance crossmember, and the lights were ordered from RMS Lighting. You can look them up on Facebook. If you can't find them let me know, and I can help you get ahold of them. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and that swap is going to be sweet on your ride!
Love the process on the cutty they did good body work but a horrible paint job would not got to them again...but will definitely be a masterpiece when it's finished
Thank you very much sir I appreciate that. Yes good body work no doubt but paint not at all. Hopefully I can get it painted and done nicer this time. Thanks for watching!
Keep at it man very nice. I've had an old Caprice for 30yrs so I know how it feels. But I just got another cutlass I've done some things that you've done. And want to do more, idk about ls swap. But I like your suspension upgrades for sure. Do you save a lot of gas with the ls swap cause yeah the built 350s in both cars drink drink drink.
I appreciate your comment, and glad you understand how it is having a car for so many years. What are some of the things you have done to the Cutlass so far, and what things would you like to do in the future to it? The gas mileage on the 350 sucked for sure lol....we cammed this Ls and get between 19-21 mpg which is not too bad in my opinion. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment.
@@CutlassVibes Cool man I actually have both of them on my channel. I just took it apart and painted it. Windshield, rear window, door window seal rubber, welded the trunk hole and trunk body mounts. I'm in MI so it was some rust. But it's a pretty straight car. Bought it with built 350 th350 tranny shift kit, buckets was put in by previous. Only 73k but you can tell it sat outside for a good while.
Hi there I used the stock motor mounts on the car and used dirty dingo adjustable ls1 engine swap mounts for g body to put it in place. I also used the G Force crossmember for 700r4/4l60e transmission. I had to get a new driveshaft made because I moved my Ls as forward as I could just to make it a little easier to work on. Thanks for watching.
Are the LED headlights plug in play? If so where did you get them? I bought a 83 regal and ls swapping it and will be giving it to give it to my daughter for her quinceñera she loved it since I bought 3 years ago
Yes, sir, they are literally plug and play. I got them from Hector Vega, and you can reach him on facebook: RMS LIGHTING & ACCESSORIES, Instagram: RMSLIGHTING, and/or at WWW.RMSLIGHTING.NET That is very cool that your daughter loves a car like the awesome G-Body. I really enjoy my LED headlights. I can actually see at night now. Thanks for the comment and for watching Cutlass Vibes.
I have a 1987 cutlass with 350sbc 350th .the 350 is a gas hug ! I have a 2004r that came out still good was wondering if I should drop it back in alot of ppl telling me not to mess with the 2004r I like it tho
That's cool that you have a 1987! I had a 2004r on mine and it worked just fine...if your just going to drive it around it will work. Now if you are going to hammer it alot then I would go with a 700 r4 or even better a level 2 or 3 700 r4 then you can beat on it and have some fun!
@@CutlassVibes I want to drive it around everyday summer spring fall car just not winter I do like to peel out sometimes get down on her she got 22s inch knockoff rims on her my 350th needs rebuild still drives but slips a Lil in 1st gear not to bad but its also gas hug would the 2004r be great to build a street strip everyday car?
I understand....that transmission would work great for a daily driver all year round. I wouldn't trust it to well to race or peel out too often. That's just my opinion of course....you sure can try it and give it a shot! A built 700r4 takes alot more beating. Just a little info...let me know what you decide and how it does. Threepedals.com and it will say GForce G-Body transmission Crossmember for TKX, TKO, 4L60, 700R4....SKU: RCG-700. If you need anymore help let me know...thanks for watching!

Yes sir bought them directly from dakotadigital.com and yes they are a direct fit. The instructions that come with them are excellent. I am going to upload a video soon explaining the wire colors from the car to get it connected. I couldn't find anything on that so thought I'd upload one hoping to help someone else.
For the lower radiator hose I used part #21612. I had to trim it just a bit for it to work, but not much, and I haven't had any issues. Thanks for watching!
I went with Speed Engineering long tube headers, BUT I did have to beat them a little to fit. I've heard there are some expensive ones that fit perfectly...I guess just depends how much money you have at the time. Thank you for the comment.
I used the Dirty Dingo adjustable LS engine mounts and I moved the engine as far forward as I could. It cleared everything, and my hand fits a bit better behind the engine if I need to work on something.
I'm strongly considering ls swapping my 84 cutlass supreme that my uncle gave me. It's my first time rebuilding a car and I'll be doing the work with my dad too. What advice do you have for someone like me just starting out?
That is so awesome that you and your dad will be working on it together. Those are some incredible memories that you will never forget. Is that a ict bracket that you used for the ac also I need the info on those hoses bro I need the same hoses and possibly same ac compressor for my setup
Sounds good I used dirty dingo AC bracket with the Sanden 508 compressor. Let me look up that info on those fittings for the hoses...I have it all written down.
I used the GM Conversion Sanden SD508 709 Tama Seltec and I ordered it from Ebay. The hoses they had at several shops that do hoses and crimp them. Let me know if you need any more info sir ill be glad to help all I can.
@@CutlassVibes did you use the same power connection from the old ac compressor or did you have to change that?? Also did you connect those white and purple vacuum lines that are next to the ac box?
Thank you for your comment. I learned that the Holley kit I installed regulates the pressure internally, and it returns excess fuel within the tank. So all I need to do is go directly to a filter and straight to the engine and the other one is the vent. Hopefully I'll be doing that soon. Thanks for watching!
I just watched an episode on Autopia La last night....but those cars on the show are bad to the bone. Mine still needs interior and more work. Thank you very much for this awesome comment and for watching Cutlass Vibes.
you know what bro sometimes you just have to break down and spend a little more and get a better starting point, youll thank yourself. Specially if your gonna restore these newer 80s and 90s cars that are dime a dozen every where still, like my guy here, he had to buy a parts car, just to get metal when he couldve saved his troubles and found a solid one altogether!
I totally agree with you for sure and if I was going to build another one I would do that exactly no doubt. The only reason I didn't do that is because this is my first car ever. My parents bought it for me when I was only 15 years old and it has alot of sentimental value for me. If it wasn't for that....heck I sure would of done exactly what you said. Thank you very much I appreciate this, and thanks for watching.
I had a 1983 cutlass H/o hurst olds anniversary special with the 3 lightning rod shifters on the floor
Oh those are awesome! What did you do with it?
Its nice to see someone who's so adamant about a certain car like we used to be back in the day I had several cars over the years that were my baby just like that car is to you I bet if you actually counted all the money you've put into that car you'd faint lol could have bought an airplane I'm sure just like me with my babies I can't even imagine the money spent on those cars lol
Thank you sir and yes your absolutely right! I would faint in a second just thinking about all the money spent over the years. I'm sure you spent a fortune on your babies as well... but all worth it in my opinion. Still more to do just takes time to save a little more money. I enjoy reading comments like this...Thank you for taking the time to comment and to watch the video.

Where did you mount the pcm...insdie or the engine bay?
I mounted it inside in the middle at the very bottom under the radio area. I do show it in some videos if you would like to see it. Thank you for watching Cutlass Vibes!
If you would like to send me a mesaage on Facebook or Instagram under Cutlass Vibes I can send you a picture. Thank you

My mom had a 78. It was the car I got my license in.
That's pretty cool! Do you know where that 78 ended up at by chance? Thank you for sharing this with us.
@@CutlassVibes Dad sold it about 2000. It had not moved in several years, 260 V8 was a problem since it was new. Unfortunately I had no interest in it at the time.
I understand....well atleast you have some good memories. That's what really counts. Thank you for sharing.
@@CutlassVibes
I bought my tank from rock auto. It’s a spectra tank with the filler neck attached. It’s listed at $162.79 right now. I also bought the rubber isolators so my in tank pump isn’t too loud.
Thank you very much for the info I appreciate it!
Super nice Build Man! Love everything about this Cutlass. I'm myself working on a 85 Cutlass with a Ls2
Would you mind sharing where you got you Ac lines made?

That is going to be sweet right there. Thanks for watching Cutlass Vibes.
What motor mounts and transmission crossmember did you use and did you have to cut your drive shaft
Love the wheels!! Whats the name of the wheels and the specs on front and rear backspacing?
Thank you sir...they are Rushforth Rated X wheels. Fronts are 18x9 with 4.5" BS and Rears are 18x10 with 5" BS. Thank you for watching!

I have an 81 and 85. 81 is a v6 and 85 a v8. Which one would you recommend or starter car doesn’t really matter since swapping anyways

That's cool that you have a 1987! I had a 2004r on mine and it worked just fine...if your just going to drive it around it will work. Now if you are going to hammer it alot then I would go with a 700 r4 or even better a level 2 or 3 700 r4 then you can beat on it and have some fun!

For the lower radiator hose I used part #21612. I had to trim it just a bit for it to work, but not much, and I haven't had any issues. Thanks for watching!
What headers did you go with ?
I went with Speed Engineering long tube headers, BUT I did have to beat them a little to fit. I've heard there are some expensive ones that fit perfectly...I guess just depends how much money you have at the time. Thank you for the comment.
Hey bro how did you do it to clear the ac box with out the valve cover or coil hitting it?
I used the Dirty Dingo adjustable LS engine mounts and I moved the engine as far forward as I could. It cleared everything, and my hand fits a bit better behind the engine if I need to work on something.

you know what bro sometimes you just have to break down and spend a little more and get a better starting point, youll thank yourself.
