She did a duet & video with Reba for this song & it is incredible! The song was about her father abandoning her, but the video with Reba shows a different message that's just as fitting. Its beautiful ❤❤

She won the very first American idol but this song was a little bit after that. She actually had to fight with her label about releasing the song because they thought it wasn’t any good since it didn’t rhyme. How wrong they were 😂 She was recently ranked #194 on Rolling Stones best singers list is what the 194 reference was. There’s a lot of great performances from her Vegas residency! Some of my favorites are: Sober, Only Love Can Hurt Like This, Happier Than Ever, Tightrope, and Beautiful Disaster. Love the KC reactions!
I think the “194” is referring to her ranking by Rolling Stone’s 200 greatest singers of all time.

Ooo. I know! She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas and grew up in the suburb of Burleson which is just south of FtW. She won the first season of American Idol in 2002! She’s been a household name for over 2 decades! Did you know she did a Summer Tour with The Fray in 2012?

And to know that scumbag Clive Davis actually told Kelly that she was a shitty songwriter, that she should stick with singing. The song didn't make the cut on her first album Thankful I believe.

As an artist shouldn't you actually be paying attention to the lyrics of the songs your listening too, being a song writer yourself, not understanding the songs your listening too.. I just dnt get it
ive never intently listened to the song prior to this, i've only just heard it on the radio. very different listening styles. active vs passive.
Just saying, try actively listening to the songwriting or lyrics of the artist's that are being played on radio stations (there's a reason why a song is on the radio) maybe paying more attention to that will give you a better understanding and it can guide you with you own music/songwriting so one day you might be able to get on the radio
