Hello Everyone! My name is Mitch Vosejpka; I am Matthew's younger brother who gave him bone marrow. I just wanted to say to all of you thank you for all of the wonderful and supportive comments that you guys have left for this posting of my brother's journey. It is highly appreciated even after many years.
God bless you and your family MItch. I love these Make A Wish stories. They are so inspiring. I am sure the Rocket was as blessed by Matt, as Matt was by him. That seems to always be the case.
For everyone that has watched my segment through the Make a Wish and My Wish editions I want to thank you, I was not able to achieve my goal of pitching in the Majors but through my experience I have dedicated my life to helping others in need within the medical field. Thank you all for following the "My Wish" Series and hope they follow up every year with more stories. I'm so blessed to still be hear because of my little brother Mitch's sacrifice that I can give back and help others who are going through similar situations as my family and I were presented with nearly 10 years ago. Thank you all! Sincerely, Matt Vosejpka
I thought it was really cool that Clemens went above and beyond to show him some tips. He didn't just show up and give him some gear...he genuinely took an interest in teaching the kid something. That's pretty special.
We recently found out our son has a brain tumor. The emotions are some I never wish upon anyone. We are starting our hospital journey and make a wish. Wish you the best Matt and family. Hope your dreams come true.
This video is so very awesome!!! I am so happy that this kid got the transplant and is back on the field and my God bless the Rocket for doing what he did with this kid I respect him even more now!!!!!!
Sending my love and prayers to Matt and his family🙏❤️📖✝️ God Bless🙏❤️📖✝️ What a strong family🙏❤️📖✝️ Hope your doing amazing now and living a happy and healthy life🙏❤️📖✝️ Your an inspiration and a warrior🙏❤️📖✝️ God Bless🙏❤️📖✝️
i just want to say thank you make a wish for making all of these kids dreams come true it is a true greatest gift that you can give them hope for a brighter future
I can watch this all day. I know about Clemens but this was still amazing. And that still of Clemens hunkered down coaching Matt while he's in the kick...that's a world class picture. I hope all is well for Matt, his wicked amazing brother Mitch and the whole family.
Seeing the father cry just broke me apart. I pray that Matt continues to do well. God Bless his family and his little brother who clearly was his angel in a major way. Stay strong Matt and family.
Now that's true motivation. God bless your soul. Roger clemens you're a kind hearted pitcher to take time out of your career to help a cancer stricken teen. God bless you matt your in my prayers.
Matt, Hope you get better soon! So glad you got your wish to meet Roger Clemens, Great that your brother gave you bone Marrow and was a match But then again you won your battle. Atta boy Matt for winning your battle.
Good to hear you all doing well make a wish is the best I got one I was 5 years old I hope to see your big brother on tv one day all the best to you and your family.
The production took place in June of 2006, @TheJuansrg. Matt's time with Roger Clemens was recorded on June 21. The video played on ESPN as part of their "My Wish" series that summer.
One thing I notice in all of these is the kid is so nonchalent. I would be hugging, jumping with joy, excited. None of these kids do that. I would be beyond thrilled.
The Rocket belongs in the Hall of Fame. However, I cannot imagine being in Clemens' position and not doing things like this. It would be a privilege and an honor to do so.
Love these videos, even if I don't know who the celebrity is half the time XD This is cool that he is actually teaching the kid stuff too ontop of giving him the wish of a life time! Nice work, guy I don't know!! XD
Maggie, if this is your wish, then you should submit a referral form to begin the wish-granting process. You can find the referral form on our website. UA-cam won't let me type the actual URL (but it is wish-DOT-org/refer)
I got his son Kody Clemens autograph I bet he is going to be better than his dad one day but he does not a a pitcher he is a second baseman and he is amazing I saw him play like five times
There is no braver person than a child with a life-threatening condition. You can fight in wars, run into a burning building, but nothing touches this.
I wish guys like roger could play forever. I do not care if they take enhancers to play longer, I could care less. Baseball is a sport beyond the physical…
Dwheels220 damn dude what does one thing got to do with the other, must be you just don't like Clemens right, give the man some credit that he would take time to chill with Matt.
Weird i had a great great grandpa who played for the yankees but i really dont like baseball. I played it but was not interested in it. I still have respect for the people who play it though

Whether you love Clemens or hate him, you HAVE to admit this is a great story!
I thought it was really cool that Clemens went above and beyond to show him some tips. He didn't just show up and give him some gear...he genuinely took an interest in teaching the kid something. That's pretty special.

That picture of Clemens teaching him how to pitch at 8:22 is just golden...awesome.
This one hits home with me. I had cancer and also needed a bone marrow transplant when I was young, inspiring.
Your a fighter Matt. Congratulations. Roger whether or not you used enhancements you are still kind at heart.
I can watch this all day. I know about Clemens but this was still amazing. And that still of Clemens hunkered down coaching Matt while he's in the kick...that's a world class picture. I hope all is well for Matt, his wicked amazing brother Mitch and the whole family.
Glad Matt is feeling better. Roger is a class act

Atta boy Matt for winning your battle.
Steroids or not Clemens deserves to be in the HOF.
Agreed
I would have disagreed with you a few years ago. But at this point who cares. Let them all in. But you must let guys in like Dale Murphy.
Good to hear you all doing well make a wish is the best I got one I was 5 years old I hope to see your big brother on tv one day all the best to you and your family.
Great video!!!!!!!!!
What a class act from The Rocket 🚀

I love when professional athletes take the time to make a memorable moment for kids.
Such an amazing story great example of perseverance
Couldn't ask for anything more out of Clemens . They both had a day to remember.
I hope this kid makes it to the big leagues. All the best from a 19 year old with Autism.
Roger Clemens i always knew you were a class act best wishes to you and that young lad
that's an awesome photo of him pitching with Roger
Thank you!
One thing I notice in all of these is the kid is so nonchalent. I would be hugging, jumping with joy, excited. None of these kids do that. I would be beyond thrilled.
Yes! ESPN has been profiling the experiences of wish kids every year in the "My Wishes" series.
great absolutely great bro
Family takes care of family...WTG Mitch & Matt
Behind competitive and mishaps of sports this shows you there's a good side to all things. I want to be apart of something big. Something helpful
The Rocket belongs in the Hall of Fame.
However, I cannot imagine being in Clemens' position and not doing things like this. It would be a privilege and an honor to do so.
Amazing story, best wishes and the best of luck Matt

it's "The Rocket's" return. they meant it has a possessive for Clemen's title haha
Ouch, that beginning did not age well about The Rocket. I hope this young man has a change in the MLB.
Clemens nickname is the rocket
That is so sad
The Rockets? Did they get the team names mixed up? Lol
Isn't roger Clemens trying to make another comeback with the Astros?
