I watched Clemens pitch a rehab start at a AA park sitting right behind the catcher. I could feel the power of the pitches and it was awesome. Never forget it.
Thanks for the video. I grew up watching Roger Clemens and was able to see him in 94 at Fenway. He's a special kind of guy that only comes around once a few decades.
@@TheAnimalWolverine They accused him of using PEDs, and he denied it. Then they charged him with 6 felony counts of perjury for denying it, but in a setting where they had to show evidence instead of just slinging accusations, they had nothing. The only piece of evidence they had was a needle that was in the custody of Mcnamee for years, who admitted he changed his story (AKA he lied) over the years, which destroyed the case against Clemens. It's absurd that Clemens isn't in the HOF after they repeatedly failed to show any compelling evidence he cheated. One of the legends of the game has had his reputation ruined on nothing more than the word of a man who has admitted to lying about it.
I watched Roger give up 8 in the second inning against the white Sox in NY and then the Yankees scored 8 in the bottom of the 2nd. one of my favorite memories, being able to see the legend himself, even tho it was a rough outing. I also saw MJ miss a game winning shot in Atlanta when i was 9 and it devastated me so maybe im just cursed but still fun memories nonetheless
Roger is the greatest pitcher I’ve ever laid eyes on. Great pitcher, good polish on stuff and a good delivery. But more than anything, guy was a bulldog. A competitor. That’s why he’s the best.
My idol as a young teenager. Despite all the controversy. There really was something special seeing him pitch both live and on TV. I also understand why some people just can't stand the guy. It is ok to value both positions on the man.
He’s right about the catcher being a bit uncomfortable. I have caught a couple guys that had a split and it’s like a two seam and circle change had a kid out of wedlock.
Doesn't matter. The hall of fame isn't just about statistics. It's about representing the game in an honorable way. Both those guys cheated knowingly and are thus mortally undeserving of the HOF nod.
@@tspring12 it should just be about representing the history of the league period. The good and the bad. What you’re describing is a hall of dishonesty.

Somehow seeing the Pitching Ninja's face really makes everything make sense. He sounds a little dorky, definitely knows his stuff... But he's actually a stout athletic dude, clearly has actual field experience. I'd just assumed he was an analytics dweeb with no play time, not that it matters, his analysis is top notch!
Now I think it is fairly well known that Scotty also scuffed the ball … *rumor* has it, and the source was another MLB pitcher, that Greg Maddux did also … infrequently on pitches to lefties, but regardless … very few can make the ball move like those two did (with or without an abrasion in the ball!)
Is that the grip he split his steroids with? That's the only thing I remember about this guy. I hope the astros are kept out of the hall just like this guy is.

Anybody else have "The Rocket" poster as a kid, with him on the mound and the baseball rocket is in his hand?

He should’ve been in the hof tbh

More than any player this guy was THE MAN! Roids or no… this man is a Legend
Roger's split and Pedro's changeup are 2 of the nastiest pitches ever.
And marianos cutter
YES! ROCKET!
This man is the reason my father and I hustled to Fenway whenever we could. I was there the first time he came back with the J’s too.

Wow. You are there, dude. You have made it to the top. Congratulations

Is the full interview on the way?? I’d love to see it

Interesting stuff!! ⚾⚾⚾👍👍👍
Like Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens was a hall of famer before the P.E.D. accusations.

In an era where they didn’t give a shit until it was over. I call bs. 2 of the best players at their positions ever.

My top pitchers I copied was Pedro and Clemens when I pitched many years ago
Love Roger... I hit many a car door practicing in our alley as a kid trying to be like him... :)
The best pitcher ever seen.!
Should have asked him a question or two about Mindy McCready too
God bless Roger!!!

Hes a full blown lawyer
Off the subject like your hat Roger my favourite pitcher
This pitch I believe prolonged the rockets career
Definitely a science to pitching!
I think they get the mud now somewhere in PA? My buddy sent me a video of it, however I’m not 100% certain it’s from PA
Mike Scott, anyone?

Have him show the grip that Dave Stewart had on him.
That's awesome.
savannah banana legend
Very cool
Roger Clemens. You were awesome, but your best years were in Toronto (according to a Canadian)
This was great but I was hopeing for glasnow/darvish KS for tm
rocket is the man
He's a cheater, enough said. He can join Bonds, McGuire, A-Rod and Sosa in The Hall Of Shame.
Roger seems more chill and calmer now, maybe from not using the roids
🔥🔥
I bet his wasn’t expecting 8.7K views in 3days when he paid Clemens whatever he did to do this bit
How’s the HOF treating you, Roger? I “misremember”
He sure used it to bean anyone who could hit this pitch. Ask Mike Piazza.
Stupid comment. He hit Piazza with a fastball, not a splitter.
@@Code4King oh, my mistake. That makes it less cowardly.😂
Really cool insight. Steroids aside this guy is an encyclopedia of pitching knowledge
Hall Of Fame...NOW!!
Nope.
I hate the Red Sox but this man not being in the HOF is disgusting
Really wish he never used
Roid Rage Roger
This dude was my hero! Fuck the haters!
Why do you like Roger Clemens?
If I want to know how to Roid myself out of the HOF. Ill ask Roger
HOF cannot make you pin point a spilt finger fastball
Roids
Cheater!!!
Ask him if the roid rage was responsible for throwing the bat back at Piazza 😅
fyi steroids helps splitters too 😮
@@onenightinbangkok7626my point was Clem took Roids AND HGH 🤦 NOBODY all of a sudden throws 5mph harder after age 37 ... sorry 🤷
