wireless carplay android auto module box for honda accord 10th generation 2018
------
The unit was pretty easy to install, only had to take out 4 screws and two nuts (10mm) to access the master controller.
please comment if you are stuck on something or having problems.
Was able to install it and it’s working!! Had to pull the shift stick to lowest gear to pull up the middle console to give space for the center console (holding lighter and USB) to come out. Was able to pull wires from car audio unit and plug all the connectors without removing the car audio unit and display. The additional wires/connectors stuff the space between the Audio unit and center console, so it took some maneuvering to flush it back. Placed the CarPlay unit on the floor and held it using welcrow. WiFi stick should be stuck on a non metal location. I pulled the USB wire underneath the right side of middle console, to look clean. Thanks to all help and info shared by everyone. Hope this makes it easy for others. It took me longer since I was careful on pulling the existing connectors(never did it before). For others it might be a breeze.
Awesome 👌
Thank you for uploading this video. it was of great help for me when I installed my unit. A couple of things to mention for anyone who is thinking of installing one of these. The unit activates the AUX mode on the factory stereo, so don’t worry that your OEM radio doesn’t show it.. Also, you should really use an original cable to connect to CarPlay. I tried using a short aftermarket cable, and although the unit recognized my phone, I couldn't get any sound out of it. Plugged in an original iPhone cable and I had no issues. Finally, I got all kinds of sensor warnings after installing. I swore I had really messed up my car. After driving around for a couple of miles and restarting the car, the warnings cleared. The installation guide included on the box is not very descriptive, but this unit is plug and play, so it's not hard to install.
Remove the car Bluetooth from your phone. Have your WIFI and Bluetooth on your phone turned on. Connect the phone to the CarPlay unit and it will automatically connect. It doesn't need to connect your car. I have the same module in my car a 2018 Accord LX. And its been working great. Got it installed around November of last year. Also when you turn the car on it'll automatically connect to the CarPlay function. If you have your car Bluetooth in your phone listed devices it will connect to the car first before the unit can take over. This causes a slight delay so I just remove my car from it all together and connected ONLY to the module Bluetooth and WIFI. Unit is up on my home screen or last used app practically instantly.
the reason I got the module is that I maxed out the Bluetooth connections and it stopped recognizing my phones Bluetooth connection. and without that, you can't delete previous devices. so I had to find another alternative because Honda service ", never heard of it before".
but I get onscreen navigation maps. so I was a plus across the board.
@@shizzzx You can delete the bluetooth devices connected to your car
@@SteezinBreezin not for the factory system once you max it out. You can't connect anything more to get the function to delete the old ones. It's a known system flaw. I'm not talking about the adapter. That's fine with removing and adding devices.
@@shizzzx Turn it on but not accessory mode and do it through the phone book method, not the bluetooth settings. Push the phone button, scroll down to phone setup, scroll down to system clear. Also you can go to bluetooth devices in that menu and you'll be able to delete all the connected devices.
@@SteezinBreezin thanks, tried to before. Doesn't work. Researched it for a while too. Tired to even see if I could command into it via the USB. But nope. If you have a video post it. 👍🏿
Have you had any issues with the system since you’ve installed it?
my car need to have an AUX conection? or its just an option that appears when you install the computer? im confuse, because my Accord LX 2018 doesnt have an aux conection, help please
Dude. Are you able to get any Netflix or UA-cam to play on the screen? For the life of me I can’t get it working. I got the unit and installed it flawlessly and appreciate you guys but just cannot find the pattern to play videos
na. the android auto had video playback disabled. There is suppose to be apk that allows it to side load but i wasnt able to get it to function. (didnt really look hard into it).
@@shizzzx yup one drawback. They claim it has this function per their videos, but we all cannot get it up and running. Another case of false advertising I guess.
was there a video you followed to install it?
Video for how to install??
I recently installed this in a 2020 Honda Accord. It's a little finicky but I got it working well. I am having trouble using the microphone? Does this use the Honda OEM microphone? What did I do wrong?
So is this would work for Hondas with no Apple CarPlay? Meaning it would give it Apple CarPlay?
i connected everything and car turns on but the screen doesn’t turn on it’s just a black screen, i plugged everything into the right spot i think and left all the dip pins off too so i’m not sure what the problem is, if there’s anyway to get the screen to turn on, that’ll help a lot thank you!
you held the pick up bytton on the steering wheel it should activate the module. and give you the screen you should have. make sure you stereo is set to aux also.
I'm having issues with the backup camera. please help😔 it won't turn on at all
Thanks for sharing! Just ordered. The USB cable you mentioned that is not needed, is that for wired CarPlay? Do you ever use it? Were the 2 LVDS connection to OEM Display screen and on the OEM unit easy to find and connect? What about the power supply cable, looks like the sockets match should make it self explanatory to connect. No connection or steps needed to hook up the rear camera- correct? I want to install it myself and not as handy as you😊
the connectors are keyed. so you cant mess it up. its a simple plug and play the hardest part is figuring out the move the wires for it to sit flush i the center space. everything else is simple. its an add on to your existing stuff you dont need to plug in anyrhung othe than what you have and the wifi antenna
I see you didn’t remove the OEM Head Unit. Is it easy to connect all connectors and LVDS cable behind the OEM Head unit sockets without removing it?
@@LiveNLetLive321 it only requires you to remove the strip above the glove compartment and the center console. I literally only took two screws out for the headunit brain (mounting screws). To access the plugs
This thing is the answer but one thing, It doesn’t have mirroring as promised
I haven't been able to get the mirroring to work but I think it's actually the software version on the phone. Preciously you'd get a option. It's not the same anymore
@@shizzzx The UA-cam video from this company shows a “mirroring” icon available on the head unit.
I even tried to integrate the iPhone’s “screen mirroring” that’s on the iPhone. Don’t work.
That’s not LX. It’s hybrid trim.
@shawn, was able to slide shaft on N mode to slide the console.. didn’t remove the wires behind it but couldn’t see the slot for power cable connectors underneath the car module. Do you have also take out the entire module to plug the 4 connectors? No instructions by the vendor makes this difficult.
you have to remove the whole stereo comtroler to access the top side of the unit for the power snd other connector. it should only be two screws that hold the unit in place.
You need a special hollow box spanner to open the 2 screws holding the CarPlay unit which I didn’t had. Was able to pull the existing connectors and plug the new ones without removing the audio and display unit.
Question. First thing in the morning, when you start the car, what does it do? Does it instantly link up your phone and bring up CarPlay like on an actual stock CarPlay with touch screen?
Yeah mines links right up in a matter of seconds. When I start the car up. Everyone once in a while the unit may need to be kicked in by holding the phone button down on the steering wheel for a couple seconds. But typically it automatically kicks in once I turn the car on.. BUT if you use the auto start it does not kick in, so you have to manually turn the unit on using the phone button. Hope that helps
@@shizzzx WORD! That’s the best news.
You talking about auto start from pressing the key fob to start the car? I don’t have that. Guess the LX model don’t have that feature.
Have you tried mirroring or autolink with an iPhone.? I can’t play video from Netflix etc.
I have tired it. I know that hulu prevents mirroring devices through usb for video content. But I did yet a saved movie and UA-cam to work fine on iphone and andriod through the mirroring option
Hi Shawn, I just installed mine yesterday, and android auto is running smoothly, but when I use Google maps the audio is way louder and muffled. Did you have that issue?
You have to find the sweet spot. The audio controls on the phone don't function in the car mode. But the knob on the actual radio, and the steering wheel vol controls work independently when in andriod auto. Soo you map audio is primarily the steering controls. * if it's too loud, the alerts will amplify louder * so you have to adjust it to where you want it.
I set the stereo knob volum to 15 and then use the steering controls to get the desired sound. Then don't touch the steering volume anymore.
@@shizzzx That makes a lot of sense. I will definitely go play with those settings. Also I accidentally left the wife antenna on the metal module. Do you think that's why my data navigation is going very slow?
how long did it take to ship?
Did you ever get any speaker crackling when in CarPlay? I’ve gotten that recently after install
No. Just make sure the volume for the unit is what your controlling. The volume of actual radio may be cranked up too high. They don't work in tandem
For anyone who has installed this, will this still work if your call buttons aren’t working/bluetooth issues? Will this system still work ? Anyone?
you mean as they didn't work with the regular Bluetooth connection on the factory radio? Well my list is maxed out and I haven't found a way to remove any devices off that list and the whole reason i got this device. and I give me the functions to the steering wheel buttons through this module.
@@shizzzx you answered my question!! So it does work after installing this?
Also I went to the dealer and it’s $195 for just a diagnostic which doesn’t guarantee it’ll work after. Crazy how they won’t do it for free!
So it does work right? I just don’t want to buy this mod and it doesn’t work because of the talk buttons/bluetooth situation.
Can we not install the USB cable? Since we are connecting through Bluetooth and wifi?
I've installed every cable that came with it. Even if I'm not using it, you never know
Backup camera works normal?
Yes this module works with the factory back up camera. Also this module ONLY works for the LX version of the Honda Accords 2018+
yes, everything functions as normal ( as far as I can see)
Does anyone know if shipping from Europe is quickest or is china?
im pretty sure the shipping will be the same with each. about 2 weeks. the customs is the problem
I placed the order like 3 days ago still haven’t received a shipping label, should I be worried ?
It's being shipped from over seas. They have a whatsapp number. For customer service but it takes about a week and some from what I remember. Just patience
Hey Ted. Did you ever getting your order. I'm in the process of ordering one, but a bit hesitant, since there is no contact info. Thanks.
@@tdg8321 yea I did it came in one week and it’s working absolutely fantastic
Still no touch. Why not replace with model with touch screen.
I read that it doesn't work properly and the cost was outside what I wanted to spend. I might change it to an aftermarket touchscreen later though. The pitfalls are about the same
Any one face a blank/black screen when the right turn signal is turned on ?
Never experienced that before. Might want to check the wiring
Did you unplug the battery before installing everything?
Nope. Just turned the car off. There wasn't any wires to splice so didn't think it was needed. I rarely disconnect the battery doing stereo installs because the plugs are plug and play and the wiring is done before it's connected.
@@shizzzx copy
how did you get your tachometer like that with the green and blue
That's the normal color from what I know.
Nope:( I have a Honda accord 2018 lx maybe the newer models
@LILDREW559 I have a 2018 hybrid so they maybe why. It goes red when it's in sport mode.
@@shizzzx Yupe that’s true lol
do you have an iphone? if so does the mirroring work?
I have an android. So I do the android auto. That works perfectly so, I'm sure the iPhone airplay works. My phone doesn't allow the mirror ( actually I just upgraded phones so I may work now)
Does your screen mirroring work?
For iPhone, I don’t see Mirroring on the display option. It says AirPlay and I have to select the Airplay on my video to play it.
will this work if i dont have aux
You will have aux when you connect the device to your stereo.
Thank you for that reply. I’ve been going in circles trying to find an answer to this.
how do you know where to plug it up into and how to take everything apart? ive been looking for installation videos on youtube but they’re isn’t any
Sadly there isn't any real installation instructions.
You when to take apart the center console and part of the dash.
99% is clips besides the actual radio.
@@shizzzx thank you
@@shizzzx backup camera works normal?
@@ecruz2285 yeah everything still functions as usual.
