There is no number cap for children. Children are unlimited. Tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors are being sent here. This has been going on for years. Special interest groups use children as a loophole to get the parents and other family members into the US. The children are also the basis for getting govt aid to the child's whole household.

They are taking up to 20m. I live in the Boston area and many hotels and public facilities have been turned into migrants shelters. Even in my little town, I see these migrants everywhere. Going to have to move to a red state if this continues. Almost retired anyhow, so time to start looking elsewhere.

Joe needs to go back to the successful programs of the previous administration that were embraced by both the Mexican government as well as various central American government.
The previous administration employed the, ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy that was amazingly successful. American immigration officials went to Mexico and interviewed for nationals wanting to legally enter the United States. Those foreign nationals who complied with American immigration law were given the necessary papers and were allowed to enter the United States legally. Those who did not meet America’s immigration qualifications remained in Mexico and were embraced by the Mexican government. This was an amazingly successful program but sadly, she after Joe became president. He dismantled this program and now we have to deal with the insulting chaos.
Joe needs to go back to what works.

expands the types of crimes that may make an individual ineligible for asylum, such as a conviction for driving while intoxicated causing another person's serious bodily injury or death;
authorizes DHS to suspend the introduction of certain non-U.S. nationals at an international border if DHS determines that the suspension is necessary to achieve operational control of that border;
prohibits states from imposing licensing requirements on immigration detention facilities used to detain minors;
authorizes immigration officers to permit an unaccompanied alien child to withdraw their application for admission into the United States even if the child is unable to make an independent decision to withdraw the application;
imposes additional penalties for overstaying a visa; and
requires DHS to create an electronic employment eligibility confirmation system modeled after the E-Verify system and requires all employers to use the system.

The real problem with immigration and asylum seekers is what we have done at the country toward their countries and I mean, economic embargo like with the Venezuela, which didn’t help anything it just said everything back further and the gangs and Nicaragua yeah that was us too. we sent the most notorious, criminals back to those countries where they just did the same thing they did here that got them in prison in the first place I could go on and on, but the truth is America has to take some responsibility for the persistent problems in central America because this has been going on for a lot longer than 10 or 20 years. It’s been going on for over 50 years, and the media needs to point this out. They need to do the research and tell the truth that’s the only way that you can force the hand of the government to do the right thing to own up to his involvement in the instability of Central America.

Congress is responsible for creating the laws in our country. They try to blame Biden, but Republicans had the opportunity to pass the bipartisan immigration bill which would have been a comprehensive immigration bill. The executive branch is the implementation branch, it is not supposed to create the laws, it is supposed to create the rules by which we implement the law created in Congress. By forcing the executive branch, aka the president, to use executive order, they have transferred their job duty and responsibilities into a different branch of government altogether. This is their way of saying we want to blame the executive while getting paid and not doing our job. This is Congress' job. Blame republicans and congress for this failure. An executive is only a temporary measure and Biden has been asking congress to pass reform. Hold your legislative representatives accountable.
