Once upon a time, long long ago, in a land far far away, some of us who are musicians THOUGHT we had talent ... then this. I've been playing JUST the drum part to this song since it came out in the 80s. Three DECADES later you decide to play the lead, the harmony and the bass parts AT THE SAME TIME, on ONE instrument AND throw in the drum part ... making it ALL sound better than anything I could ever dream of playing. Jealous? Me? You're damn right I'm jealous. Kent, you're amazing. Please don't EVER stop creating. You are a gift to humanity.
It looks like his guitar is tuned to the key of A with melodic drone notes. I don't know why he wouldn't just tune strings without using capo on 2nd fret. Either way, Bravo! Check out Mr. Tommy Emmanuel ua-cam.com/video/ENJuNCkPfx0/v-deo.html

Phil's music is most impactful with strong percussion - after all, he is an accomplished drummer himself. Mind blowing how Kent just gets it to work on an acoustic guitar. So impressive!
I just came across Kent's YT site and love all his covers But.. being a lifelong drummer, this one is beyond understanding. His ending is exactly how Phil sings it live.. Not on the recorded release. It's really impressive.
What’s really amazing is that he captures the feel of this song. He’s not using a drum kit he’s not using a lead singer with an incredibly powerful vocal but he is somehow captures the essence of this song. Great job

And he doesn't do this by single string picking or plucking but is using full chords with his alternate tuning.
